To anybody wondering, this is Penn Hills Resort in Pennsylvania, located in the Poconos. Also, in September of 2017 the main building burned to the ground, and in December of that year they began demolishing the remaining structures to clear the area for new construction. I don't know anything more than that, and unfortunately I doubt it'd be possible to go and explore this place now, which is a shame, it was on my bucket list for all the cool abandoned places in PA!!!

IDK where this is but I live in the south, USA. Most likely, with the number of gun shots, there is an outdoor shooting range on the property, probably a way to keep enough $ coming in to help pay expenses, or a company rents part of the grounds for the shooting range. Hunting areas, you rarely hear gun shots. You don't want to shoot and run the game off.

43 years ago I had plans to go to the Poconos for a honeymoon. That was the dream 1976. To see it like that. It's sad. Then 20 years later. It was going to the islands ,Aruba, Bahamas ,Puerto Rico for honeymooners. Don't know what happened there.
As for leaving things behind. I can relate. January 7, 2020 4:19 am we had a 6.1 earthquake in Puerto Rico. (5 months later still having earthquakes on the south region. )At that moment , my bed was shaking and my dining table and chairs. Your instinct is to run outside. I frozed. That was the longest 2 minutes of my life. Then it stop. Then 3 hours later, it shook again 5.1. Later on I reflected, that the only thing important, was your Identification documents and cash.
All those things collected, photos, memoirs, favorite DVDS Cds etc doesn't matter. I packed a backpack with the essentials and important documents. I took black and white photos of my parents. My mom passed away 4years ago.
Thank God my house didn't get damaged. But if it did. Years later , people will wonder why I left my furniture ,TV, photos of my family. My children baby pictures.
In those minutes, your life can change.

This was the Summit. We went there in 1996. the decor was exactly the same. Funny it closed in 2000s and it hadn't changed. It was outdated in the 90's. The bar and entryway was awesome! They had real parrots in there. The heart shaped Jacuzzi and sink was neat too. The rest had a bit of an icky vibe even in 1996. It felt stuck in the 70s. Still, it's sad they are going to tear it down and build a shopping center over it.
.. and yes, we played the indoor mini "galf"...and it was lame.

I actually know this place. I honeymooned here in November 1987. They had a waterfall in the lobby and a giant pet parrot. We were in one of the deluxe suites with the pool in it.

This reminds me of a place that the Ghost Adventures crew investigated years ago. It was the Brookdale Lodge. They had the built the place around a small creek so they had natural water flow running through the building.

Yeah, but businesses get abandoned for many different reasons. Health inspection failures, tired of owning a business and trust issues, lease ending, no people visited, bad area, shortage in supplies in the area, and much more

I watch these vids and realise its such a shame at how much humans waste. I mean yes not all of it could be saved but when it was first abandoned. They could have shipped the plates and chairs to restraunts. Used the rocks left over for parks. Same with the benches. im sure the wood could have been stripped and used for benches or playground sets. But no humans waste so many things and leave beautiful places like this to rot. Many of his vids were beautiful places with a lot of things that could have been saved. Roller coasters and the metal which could have been melted down. Plastic which also could have been melted down. Mirror, metal, plastic, parts, plates, cups, rocks, tiles, etc. all of these things could have been saved Yes I know most of you guys reading this would tell me to get over it but this is a real problem. this is why the earth is falling apart and why we live in a shit hole of a world. This is my opinion so if you dont like it just move on and dont say anything uneccesay

I actually went to that resort twice in the 80s. Once rented one of those individual bungalows, and the other time more of a hotel room, type thing with a heart shaped tub and it did have a heart shaped bed in it.
