Alyeska to Seward Drive. Portage Glacier and Tern Lake Viewpoint Day 6 Alaska Best of Alaska

The Alyeska Hiking Trail is a popular outdoor adventure that takes you through the beautiful Chugach Mountains of Alaska. The trail starts at the base of the Alyeska Resort just west of the lodge. Alyeska trail winds its way through dense forests, alpine meadows, and towering peaks, offering hikers stunning views of the surrounding wilderness.

Starting from Alyeska, we make our way through the scenic Turnagain Pass, where we stopped at several viewpoints to take in the breathtaking views of the rugged mountains and lakes. Continuing on, the trail passes through several mountain passes, including the famous Portage Pass, where you can stop to see the majestic Portage Glacier up close.
Portage Pass trailhead is a 4.2 mile roundtrip hike with an elevation gain of ~1500ft.
After Portage Pass, we started to make our way towards Seward, Alaska. There were a couple of pit-stops we decided to take in order to get beautiful scenic views of the surrounding lakes and mountains.

One of the locations we stopped at was the stunning views of the turquoise waters of Tern Lake surrounded by the soaring peaks of the Kenai Mountains. This is a great place to stop and take a break before continuing on to Seward.

The final stretch of the drive takes you through the picturesque town of Moose Pass and along the scenic shoreline of Kenai Lake. Here, you'll have the opportunity to possibly spot some wildlife such as eagles, moose, and bears while enjoying the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and pristine waters.
Finally, you'll arrive in the charming coastal town of Seward, where you can explore the local shops, restaurants, and museums or relax on the beautiful beaches.
