We had to skip ahead to watch this one because we were too excited and it was AMAZING! The glacier helicopter ride was insane! 😍 Cannot wait to see more of Alaska through y'alls eyes!
You should see more of Alaska through the locals eyes - take up ATV guides that go through the trails, rent a car and just drive the state and stop in local businesses. Explore the state and see the people we see every day.
You are in Anchorage for 48 hours and know the best things to do? That is impressive... I have been here for 45 years and keep finding new and different things!
Came across your videos after seeing your Boston one (I'll be visiting soon) . Subscribed instantly, great detail and beautiful videos...the cutest couple ever. Thanks for sharing your trips🙌🏼🙏🏼
I visited in 2018 to obtain a float plane rating on my pilots licence. Stayed at the Lakeside Hotel at Lake Hood. Had a blast, loved every second and in September the climate was a lot better than I expected. The locals are fantastic, they say "Can do" and it gets done. Recommended if you want something a little different. One tip, there are no Bureau de Change facilities anywhere in Alaska. Make sure you can fund your trip before you arrive.
I live here. And you have to take the short drive to Girdwood it's only like 20 minutes south of Anchorage. Very beautiful little mountain town on the ocean with a ski resort and many great restaurants and cafes. One of a kind. Also if you guys like bars. Go to Kootz (chilkoot Charlie's) world famous many celebrities have been there. The beer in Alaska is on par with Washington or Oregon, many local small micro breweries. Coffee, beer, and seafood is a big thing here. Also try some of the Kaladis Brothers cafes around town for great ambience and good coffee. Also go to the Kobuk in downtown Anchorage it's an amazing local gift and art shop with a coffee shop inside. Glacier brew house is a great local restaurant with local foods and micro brewed beers as well as award winning chefs. Highly recommend. I 100% recommend 49th State brewery downtown it's 3 floors of micro brewery/ restaurant/ balcony overlooking the ocean, amazing food super creative menu unlike anywhere I've ever soon. A bunch of different local beers and drinks. And the inside is so cool looking. Also a must see for anyone visiting is a short drive up flat top mountain, you can see the whole city of Anchorage from up there. It's very beautiful. Also hiking some easy trails through the city is Campbell Creek trail system. I recommend the Campbell airstrip road part. Also check kincaid park out. It's amazing. In west Anchorage you have to check out lake hood for the float planes. It is the most trafficked small plane landing and taking off lake in the world. As well as point worinzoff you can see the ocean and the huge international freight and passenger planes landing and taking off right over your head. Also a short drive north to the suburb/mountain town of Eagle River is amazing. Very scenic lots of good restaurants there as well. It's only like 20 minutes north of Anchorage. Skyline drive is a drive up the mountains in eagle River. If you truly want an amazing nature drive through mountainous valleys unlike anywhere, also do the eagle River nature center drive. It's very close to Anchorage, and one word describes it. EPIC. i see bears, moose, and Lynx every time I drive it. One more thing close to town. Drive to Eklutna Lake, it's where Anchorage draws it's drinking water from it's a super beautiful natural glacier lake on the bottom of mountains. It's so natural looking it's like green almost. I hope you guys have an amazing honeymoon. Enjoy Anchorage, and Alaska the 49th State! Good luck guys I'm sure you'll have many memories and fun here.
@@NotAGeekBro Alaska was a dream! Many recommendations to eat: 1. Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizza 2. 49th State Brewing 3. Glacier Brewhouse 4. You seriously went to some of the best places to eat. Props for that, club paris is historic to Anchorage really. Wild scoops is newer but they're so good, the baked alaska is amazing! That toasted marshmallow topping is so good 👍. As an Alaskan native person I appreciate how respectful you are in your video of alaska. Hi! 1. Miss yall, so fun to follow yalls adventure! 2. How's the affordability of Alaska? When I went to Iceland I had sticker shock once I got there, because the prices are inflated because everything needs to be imported. Is Alaska affordable or does it have some of the same problems as Iceland?
Hello, hello! Miss you, too- it's certainly been a while! I would definitely say that Alaska is one of the most expensive states to visit. Any place with such magnificent, untouched, natural beauty comes with a hefty price tag haha. Food, accommodations, transportation, and experiences will all be on the more expensive side, especially when comparing prices to the lower 48 states. However, I think similar to Iceland, there are still ways to stick to a tighter budget; you just might have to really search for those more affordable experiences and accommodations. I know a lot of budget travelers recommend roadtripping the state- maybe even traveling out of a vehicle that doubles as a place to sleep! If we weren't joining my sister on a family vacation, we probably would have traveled the state in a converted van to save money!
@@ChadandClaire Yes but in Ontario Canada where I live, the fall colors are much more impressive then Alaska. More variety of trees. The maple tree itself has many different types and colours.. We seen lots of different glaciers in glacier Bay. Visited a gold rush saloon the Red Onion. Went to a dog sled kennel and rode in a 4x4 being pulled by the dogs. Seen the top of Mt Dennelli which is usually not visible because it is higher then the clouds and is the tallest mountain in North America. It is a great place to visit. Yucky part was I got sick three days before the flight home and tested positive for Covid when I got home.
My cousin asked me why I bought bottled water after I moved up here., and educated me. Since then, I have been filling up my gallon water bottle from the faucet since.😮💨
Is it possible to go with family I have small kids, I would like to take them to Alaska for visit, Also how much does it cost the Hilecopter ride? Do hotels have there own Transportation as well please if you give me some info thanks.
Just a friendly correction... you listed Portage Glacier as a "Wildlife cruise" ... and it is not. There is really no wildlife in Portage Lake and it would be rare to see that far to the shore to spot a bear or moose. I've lived here my entire life and been on that cruise several times. Yes the small rivers nearby may have fish in them and the campgrounds do see bears. Truly if you want a wildlife cruise take one out of Seward. Also, far more stunning than the Knik is a flight seeing tour to the Ruth Gorge and area near Denali. Many tour operators are based in Talkeetna.
While you're in Anchorage go over to Cuddy Park and commune with the bums in the homeless camps. Or you could hangout with the inebriates that sleep in the bushes along A Street in front of the Wal-Mart. If you want some light-hearted comedic entertainment, see if you can attend an Assembly meeting--loads of fun and a laugh a minute!
It would depend on travel plans. The closest glacier and wildlife center they visited are 40miles south. Anchorage is 300,000 pop. @14miles across. A dozen Transit busses only run 6am to 1030pm. Many motorhome rentals available. 5 major car rentals @ arpt for extra fee. Dozens of hotels available, all sizes, in midtown, near arpt, downtown. Rates double in summer, from May 1st to Oct. 15th. $350 a week average.
There's dozens of hotels here, from a mom n pop place on arpt rd & arctic st, to the big names, Sheraton, Hilton, Marriott. By arpt, in midtown, in downtown. The anch. hotel on 4th Ave has ghost. May 1st the rates go up to 350 aweek on average
I've lived in Alaska for almost 50 years. I'm sorry to say seeing this video doesn't make me smile. So much liquid water on that glacier, wasn't normal when I first moved here. Our glaciers are rapidly melting due to climate change.
Yeah like climate change wasn't a thing before human times. I bet you vote for democrats, who btw use cc as an excuse to push the World Eco-nomic Agenda, which wants to take away your personal freedoms and make you a, s l a v e
I couldn't help but thank Because I see both of you as very sensitive carrying people. But I can't help but think that taking a helicopter ride to see a glacier that is most definitely Slipping away because of global warming, And I know that 1 helicopter is probably Way down On the list a queer global Emissions come from. How do you cause reconcile your travel with the climate change crisis. And hosting hosting about going there. For me I like to see where you go and you guys are a very engaging Couples

What hotel is this?

There's been a large moral change shift in people. Violence everywhere. God, who created the planet, will put a stop to it and destroy it to start over. 😊
