VR AND SOLAR AND TECK STUFF they’re just sold out at the moment
@@HifiVega why does it say in Spanish for
How much are they did say ,??
@@MyIronman8 it says the Sundown is $100 and it says that the other is unavailable
Great video. Very impressive performance from little subs....also a testament to enclosure construction.
A8vscRrabbit thank you
This is better than scientific, this is real world test. I never go by recommended enclosure. The manufacturers don't always give you the best sound or output. They give a reccomended that will sound decent but handle more power thus less warranty claims. IMO
In this case the Sundown recommended enclosure sounded pretty good, but definitely hindered its output.
Savard FTW!! I was able to tell the difference, but I'm using a really good pair of headphones. Awesome video loved it.💯👍👌
Sweet. I'm in the Savard Camp.
Great video Rob! After getting a demo from you and hearing the savard hi q on just 300 watts, I was very impressed on how much bottom end it had and how clean it sounded. It’s definitely worth every penny. Keep up the great work my dude, ✌🏽🔊
The3rd ERA I should have swapped amps before the meet so you could have really heard it
HifiVega still sounded great and loud enough for daily! Side note I’ll have to let you know when the wifey updates her website, she’s changing her contract with current company to a more custom one with same company that allows her better options on her website homepage.
I'm REALLY liking Savard's current offerings. That Hi-Q is a little monster! I'm also a big fan of Sundown's stuff after owning a couple SA-12's, rockin' 'em for 3 years, then selling them for what I paid new.
I like them both as well
I just purchased two ds18 exl 6.2d 6.5 subs for a 130 $ a piece on amazon !! I would love to see a comparison on them .thinking about buying some savards just to compare
Seems pretty scientific to me, the meter don't lie. Repeated trials will just show the same result.
DIY Audio Guy it’s the illusion of science anyways lol
I just want to say thank you for the review I bought 2 savard and I'm waiting for the box to be done.
Thanks for watching!
its just crazy how those 6.5s get down.
eric dudley I know right!
Savard hands down winner. If I switch out my 12s I will order savards for sure.
Lenus Duplechain I think they’re a great value
Great footage as always
Jason Stokes Thanks!
Great video, and really helped me in the fact that I have a sealed custom cast fiberglass enclosure that is about 1cufoot, and need a new sub in it, as the JL I have now has issues, and always needing sound so great due to the back of it being right up at the back of the box. this Sundown size helps a lot...Btw, do you have any videos on the Plus vs minus on DVC 2ohm vs 4ohm? I know it maybe a SQ vsa more power on the 2ohm thing, but how does that play out in reality testing?
I don’t have any videos on the differences in dvc of svc, but maybe I will do something in the future about it
@@HifiVega Yes, I am not sure what would be the right one to get. I have amps that are capable of either one
The quick answer dvc vs svc has little to no sound difference and you’ll be fine to use whichever fits your system plan best
@@HifiVega right...i guess a bit more response on the higher ohms. Trying to figure which sub to go with in my 1cuft enclosure thats sealed. Its a bit shallow on the mount depth, and this sundown might be the way to go..but perhaps there are better options?
@@philindeblanc the SD3 and SD4 models for sure, but also check out the Kicker L7T
Great job yo, keep them coming!!
boominc0420 thank you! I will
When are you doing another
That's weard but cool . Looks like the HiQ looks bigger
You should buy a sundown x 6.5 v2, its 100 watts more and i believe hits harder, its 200 bucks and can only be found on ebay or amazon and test it out with the savard
I think I will pick one up in the future for sure
Im gonna run 3 on a 1200 watt amp
i had pg 12s , jl 10s and now lanzar 8s lol . i like the 8s because they are punchy and tight bass. does 6.5 pack a punch ?
Thomas Louie definitely
do you know how they compare to the 8in? i can’t decide, 6.5 or 8
Hey man i have a couple of questions if you would be kind enough as to answer them for me please sir. I won the set of fast rings on your last live giveaway. My question is this. Would the lanzar max pro 6.5" subs sound good as a set of mid range bass in my back doors? Should i use the fast rings? Should i not even waste my money and just go with 2-way 6.5"? Here is the rest of my setup. 2 kicker comp vx 10s in a sealed box. Kicker 43CXA18001 1800.1 class d mono. Infinity kappa 1 inch tweeters. And in the front doors, Infinity reference 6.5" 2-way. Infinity reference 6x9 3-way in the rear. 5 farad stinger capacitor. Any suggestions on a 6 channel amp to push my highs? Just looking for more mid range bass and really wasn't sure about putting 6.5" subs in the door panel of a 99 Accord.
First thing I would do is deaden up the front doors real good and then add the fast rings that’ll add a lot more midbass than you think. Secondly I’d consider maybe running a stronger 2 channel just on the midbass
Ok. So a 4 and a 2 channel it will be lol. I appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to me brother. Have a good day
The port velocity for the Sundown is very high in the suggested box? I'm modeling it using WinISD, am I doing something wrong or is the high reading correct?
Jeff Ferguson I personally think it works better doubling the recommended port area
is it possible to buy 1 HI Q ? everywhere where i look they sell in pairs.
That Hi Q is all sold out. Thanks alot HiFI!
Alpha Omega oh man... got eem
Thanks Rob! HI-Q FTW!
Chris Catron thanks for watching
Great comparison videos Rob!
I love my quad 6.5 Savards.
Rick Quattlebaum thanks! Those 4 were impressive
I love my Savard 6.5" subs as well. When I bought mine they were only offered in the dual 2ohm config. Unfortunately, the amp configuration I'm currently running will only allow me a 2ohm final load and I need my cargo space because it's my "travel vehicle". So I'm currently running my old Boston lf12.5. But I'm looking forward to building sa box for my civic with my RE 12.1 to power them. These Savard 6.5" get deep
Should compare the Massive hippo XL64’s too!
I hope to do a lot of the 6.5’s
I'm looking hard at either one or two 6.5 subs to put in my 2005 Trailblazer. Bazooka would be nice because it has the 100watt amp & bass knob but I can't hide or at least hide it in plain sight yanno? A nice inconspicuous little square box that will tuck right behind the back seat under my make shift cleaning supplies & other sh-t box! I'm in Atlanta bruh these cats will steal the sweetness out of sugar 🤣. I just need some nice bass to compliment the four 6.5 Fosgate door speakers & two 3.5 Fosgate dash speakers. Appreciate the video👍🏾✌🏿
Haha yeah man it’s hard out there in the bigger cities you def gotta make sure your stuff is inconspicuous
The Hi-Q 8"s aren't in stock :( wanted to try them. May just go for the 6.5"s.
Jason Casto they’ve been a pretty hot item lately
I think I seen next month sometime is the ETA
@HifiVega how would you stack these up now that the Savard is twice the price of the Sundown ?
I’d go Sundown because you can find it for $99
Any demo of savard pro and rap series? how they compare to sundowns and hi Qs?
Sumair Khan I’ve done both! Check out the pro’s here and the raps are in a much earlier video
ruclips.net/video/MCOmejSkCnA/видео.html
I know you said the hiQ digs deeper in your opinion and the cost is better for sure but over sound say price point was taken away wich would you personally choose? I dont care the reason. Me my self I go savard, though i run sundown U's. And own savards too. I like the lineage that comes with savard. Sundown put out an amazing product. But savard has been there from the start. That I love. They continue to put out a product that holds up. Price point is just icing on the cake. Great vid brother!
Well if they were priced evenly I’d still lean Savard unless I needed to make use of the shallower depth of the sundown, but as far as sound they both sound great. Now if you threw the Sundown x series in the mix it could be a different story. I too love Sundown, I think they put out a great product and stand behind it.
@@HifiVega I'm right there with you. I said before the savard hiQ stacks up with the X more then the sa. I love sundown too but hard to beat the knowledge and experience that comes with the savard speakers
Would there be enough space under the back seat of a Ram 25002014 ? I'm still wanting 6.5s just dont know if they'll be enough room!! Thanks!
Should be. Some people have to do a slight seat lift, but I bet they’d fit
Id like to see a skar meso comparison
That would be interesting
You feel the difference hold true on larger sizes. For example sa10 vs Savard hi q 10. You think the Savard still wins.
I couldn’t say without directly comparing the larger sizes, but what I can tell you is that both drivers in various sizes are wonderful and you won’t be disappointed by either.
The Hi Q definitely wins. Their box was more accurately spec’d out and they are cheaper. Noticed the baskets were similar , same build house?
2011joser could be a stock basket, but I couldn’t say for sure
I wish someone would do a good review on the 6.5 k9 by Rockville
I need to get on that
@@HifiVega I just ordered a set you will see on my FB lol
I love my hi q subs
NICE VID BRO!!!
74 Midwestbass thanks!
What do you think of the Savard 6.5 Rap series?
Haven’t tried the 6.5’s yet, but the new 12’s are excellent
Do some 8s along with the 6.5s! I'd love to see some fat 8s slam!
Hey HifiVega, is it ok to run my dual 4 ohm subs on just one voice coil each? I recently got a new 5 channel amp but the Savard’s I have are dual four ohm. The amp is only 2 ohm stable. I don’t see another way to run both unless I just use one coil or just use one speaker. Any help is appreciated! 🙏
Wire each sub in series and then parallel them together. That’ll be a 4ohm load. You definitely don’t wanna run just one coil on each sub. The small gain in power running 2ohm be 4ohm mono won’t be worth it.
I'm interested in a single hi q savard 12 what tuning for loudest is best and what cubes? I was thinking 2 cubes at 32hz but I want loudest I can get it. Does it come with a box blueprint?
Johnny 24 they’ve got some recommended enclosures on the literature. They used to have enclosure blueprints on the site I think
@@HifiVega Thanks for the reply do you know if the 12 could be in 1.5 cubes ported and how do they play loudness wise sealed? Like a 12 sealed vs a 10 ported.
I want to order a hi q 12 but I need it to take a cresendo 2k daily they seem built very well look nice reminds me of the old tantric subs
Fi q12 d2 vs savard hi q 12 d2 ?? Sq and spl
@@joshferguson829 big price difference isn't it?
would i get good results with 4 6.5 savards in a rav4?
Definitely
HiQ best cheap 6.5 sub out, period.
Hi-Q all the way!
Where do you live? If you are close to Central Oklahoma, i can build you some test boxes. 415Audio on the FaceBk, check it out.
I live in Tulsa, I'm interested!

It’s always cool doing more with less
Another informative video from the man himself Will be waiting for you to put that new test bench back to work soon. Our man BASSN SANE is dying for you or Big D to dyno his amp help a brother out lol #TeamHiFi
Chief9-10 yeah I’ve gotta few things lined up for the test bench so you’ll be seeing something soon
The Savard is now $30 more.
Yep the prices change over time making the Sundown a better deal
@@HifiVega I think what I'm going to end up doing though is the zvx 8 d2 with a wolfram 1500.1 in the down4sound prefab single 8 box. I was looking at the quad 6.5 box because I need a shorter box for my convertible trunk in order for the top to go down.. but I think what I picked will bump good.. what do you think?
Those hi-q look like animals
They are
Ive got 1 sundown SA-8 spl v-2 500w and its a bad little sub but really lacks in low end sound.. pushes alot of air thou.. .. i paid almost $200 for it... those 6.5s would probably would have been better
Brian Welter have you tried different enclosures? Those SA 8’s are pretty legit
@@HifiVega I got the box design straight from Sundown Audio. Don't get me wrong it sounds good, and loud for what it is, but you can't physically hear the low hz.. the speaker hammers thought
Skar EVL comparison!!!!
The sa isn't even in the same league really, test it against an x8, test each sub at its peak frequency then burp that frequency not a sweep, playin a sweep is being lazy. And they don't look like enough port area
The x series is about 3x the cost of the Hi-Q. As far as a sweep my goal is never spl, but in this case was only used for reference and 8sqin of port opening is pretty standard for a 6.5” subwoofer.
@@HifiVega he completely missed the point of this. People dont understand just having fun anymore
Lenus Duplechain tankdog is just passionate about this hobby! I can dig it
