Thank you for this! I’ve had the spring kit sitting in my closet for two years because I didn’t want to attempt it, but after watching this video it only took me about 15 minutes!

Added my reduced spring kit and installed a THETA forward trigger! Beyond happy. You cant beat an upgraded trigger for under $70. Best part, I was able to install myself with very little experience.
I did it! After having this trigger kit for a while, I finally installed it. Plenty of thanks to HBI and this great video. Did not install the shim. Didn't think I'd need it. Everything functioning well. Now it's time to Pew Pew!
I had a tough time with the trigger return spring bouncing back out of place as soon as I did a function test. If you could add that the TRIGGER RETURN SPRING should be flush against the TRIGGER HOUSING and the HAMMER RETURN SPRING should be on the outside with the leg resting against the TRIGGER CASE and keeping the RETURN SPRING against the TRIGGER HOUSING, that would be helpful. The leg on the outside keeps the TRIGGER RETURN SPRING underneath the bent arm of the BLOCK LEVER and prevents it from popping out. The spring looks like its thinner than the original and it would benefit from being a touch longer to help it get into place when doing the install and prevent it from pupping out from under that LEVER. A longer leg on that spring would not create any mechanical conflicts inside the trigger pack.
Fantastic guide, very thorough, put my mind at ease for when I tackle this project. Color code was a great idea it absolutely helped me understand what parts are what and how to go about installing/removing parts. Thank you for the guide!
I swear the parts in my gun were much smaller than those in the video. Could have bee my old eyes. Excellent video, 40 minutes for spring kit, trigger and safety delete and I think half of that was starting and stopping the video. Could not have done it without you.
I know people have already said this. But YOU GUYS DO AN AMAZING JOB ON THIS. The Color coded trigger pack is awesome, the video lighting and explanation is spot on. Carry guys you are knockin it out of the park!
I just installed your trigger spring kit. A breeze with your nicely done instructional video. My 2018 Scorpion had no welded collar on the trigger pack screw, so the whole project took fifteen minute including the time to clean and re-grease/oil the trigger pack components. Trigger is now quite acceptable at about 5lbs.
Bought y'alls kit and took me no time after watching this. Trigger still has a mile long pull of course, but lighter with less grit. Thanks, keep up the great work!
Did this three times... the third time was reinstalling the old trigger return spring, because the new, lighter weight, thinner trigger return spring kept coming disconnected. Somehow, it kept slipping past the firing pin disconnector. I know this is only a $12 part kit, but this is the fire-control group for my wife's home defense gun. Very glad I discovered this problem before she had to use it.
It is very important to make sure the spring is installed with long leg against the sear, and the sort leg against the sheetmetal FCG housing. A lot of people miss the short leg, because it can be a PIA to get the long leg of the spring under the firing pin disconnect bar, often the short leg gets over looked. If you haven't already, please call/email us sales@hbindustries.net and we can send you another set of springs if you want? The key is really the shorter bottom leg (orange). If the short leg is bent/canted under the longer leg, it will keep pulling the spring sideways like you are describing. The good news is that its a super easy fix, even if you have the springs installed, you can reach down with the blade of a pocket knife and slide the short leg out against the sheetmetal housing and push the long leg towards the sear. Once in the correct orientation they will not move (unless the spring is bent, and again in that case please just contact us with shipping info and we will get you another set of springs). I know these springs can be frustrating, but I promise we are here to help. We got you.
I had the same issue, and I definitely put the short end on the bottom. Going to be putting the old spring back in because it popped out on me too many times. And I tested it before installing everything back together
Just a quick thank you! I recently acquired an EVO S1 and this video was EXTREMELY helpful. Literally took me 10 minutes to install the spring kit and made a huge difference. By far the best upgrade you can do immediately. Thanks again for a great video!
Thank you for the great guide. I just installed the HB industries trigger springs. Your video made it easy! I especially liked the color coded trigger block. I made it very easy to see the different parts and how they interact. Great Job!
Excellent video! I just used it to install your trigger and the springs. Very easy to follow. I had the most trouble with latching the trigger spring and getting it all attached, but that's just because I don't have a vice and I was using my counter top to hold it all down. Thanks again!
Installed my spring kit today, video and bright colored parts were more than helpful. the vid was also well explained without all the normal gibber jabber. two thumbs up! and it took almost 5lbs off the trigger pull using the Wheeler trigger pull scale to measure by.
Nice! Thanks for some good video instruction. I’ve only watched it once and I’m half drunk, so I’m gonna wait until tomorrow and watch it again before I do the actual work. But I can already tell that this video will be all the instruction I need. Thanks! 👍
Great video, VERY helpful. I wish all parts manufacturers would use the multicolored parts approach. It makes the orientation of the parts so much easier to see. This was the first time I broke down my new CZ Scorp Evo and the end to end install was done in less than half an hour including full operations checks in the reassembled firearm. Well done HBI!
Make sure the small leg of the trigger return spring is sitting against the trigger housing. The first time I installed the kit, that spring somehow twisted, and forced the long leg to move towards the housing. The problem this caused was a failure to fully reset when releasing the trigger slowly. I was forced to move it forward to hear the click, and fully reset the trigger. I didn't notice the problem if I came of the trigger fast. Once I found my screw up, it worked perfectly. By far the first upgrade needed on the CZ........besides that damn safety lever. Although, HB has a fix for that too.
Thanks for the informative video guys! I installed the trigger spring kit in about 2.5 hours. It was 2 hours of trying to get that darn trigger return spring in place, wow so much pain over that one. Eventually what I did was take a small flatblade screwdriver and cut a small groove in the middle of the blade, that helped to hold the spring in place while pushing the disconnector (?) down.
Great directions and the color coding really made the components stand out.. Thank you for the video.. ya know, I really can’t understand why you would get any thumbs down, I guess there are always a couple miserable people in the crowd..
Great upgrade from a great company! I included the shim in my first attempt and was unable to get the trigger pack and safety assembly back in the lower. Remove the shim and it slides right in. The trigger feels sooo much better. Thanks HBI.
Fantastic video! I'm a complete newb, and I was able to replace the trigger and springs in about an hour with no vice. I found that a small flathead screwdriver helps depress the spring nicely.
Great video! One comment about the washer: I installed the washer for fun, despite my CZ's sheet metal housing appearing to be spot on (not warped). However, after installing the trigger assembly and testing out the hammer function, I noticed that when releasing the hammer it was contacting the left hand side of the lower receiver frame right next to the ejector. It did so to the point of making a slight indent in the polymer of the lower receiver housing. I removed the shim and the issue did not persist. I'd suggest not installing the shim unless, after assembly, you see a need to.
The video makes it seems like there should be a tiny gap between the housing and the lever. Mine doesn’t have that gap, and the trigger reset feels like it binds just a tad. Would the shim seem applicable in that case?
Good video. Trigger return spring can be a bit harder to install than the video makes it out to be, but I got lucky and it went in after a couple of tries. Swapped out in around 30 mins on work bench with no vise.
So I’m pretty new to working on guns, having only stripped down the scorpion once. I followed the video exactly and just used a normal vice with some rubber. It wasn’t difficult at all. A heat gun is key in removing any screws. Don’t let the comments scare you, it’s a pretty easy task.
Just got your kit in the mail a couple months ago, finally got around to installing this kit. I was a little bit concerned that the hammer was loose in the up position, the spring didn't really have a lot of tension but it seemed like it captured the hammer just fine and I could push the hammer down and it would lock onto the sear no problem. So that part functioned properly. Hopefully that's totally normal. Although once it was installed into the receiver it seemed ok. The hardest part for me was getting the safety selector installed again LOL. Such a pain to get it lined up and snapped in all the way. At first I thought I bent the trigger housing and the safety bar wouldn't engage all the way, had to give it a twist and then it popped in eventually.
@@newbootgoofin3139 for the safety selector not lining up? I just had to hold it in place and jiggle it back and forth and wiggle it slowly into place. Great video, I’ve been trying to figure mine out for awhile, and just now found out all I need is to put a washer in due to mine walking off after a few resets.

This install was a pain but the video was perfect the color coating is perfect thank you for offering such a great product now time to install your free float rail. This is going to be fun
Thank you for the video. Had the spring kit for 7-8 months because I wasn’t sure about a vice. Installed without a vice and very simple just taking time following the video. Still not sure the point of the shim. It didn’t have one and it worked fine before so saw no need to install it.
watching this video and the one from mcarbo ind. gave me the nerve with a couple of different angles. I think I am ready to go for it now. I loved the color coated parts, great idea.
This an excellent video. It took me a while to depress and latch the spring but considering that I was doing it on the coffee table while watching tv it was not that difficult. The color coding of the various parts was a great idea.
My spring kit, forward theta trigger shoe, AK and mini AK style safety selectors, HBI takedown pin, and Yetiwurks pistol grip are all being shipped to me as I’m typing this. I will be installing everything at once. These are the final upgrades I’m needing to thoroughly complete my entire scorpion S1 pistol build that began when I bought the CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 brand new from the factory nearly 3 months ago. I’m so giddy with anticipation on this build and my already-installed aftermarket upgrades include: a Strike Industries handguard in the dummy can configuration, HBI pro-stock charging handle, SBTEVO Gen 1 brace, and a Holosun 510c-GR reflex sight absolute co-witnessed with a set of Magpul MBUS sights.
This better be one hell of a trigger pull. Between the spring sliding side to side and tool sliding off of it, it took about 25 minutes, hand cramping, and a lot of curse words to get the sear spring under that hammer catch shown at 14:30.
Worked great. Getting that disconnect to capture the trigger and stay in place without a vice is a SUPER big bitch, but overall not too bad. Great video on how to do it as well.
Great detailed video that was easy to follow with great visual instructions. One tiny complaint. The explanation and visual instructions for reinstalling the safety selectors was not quite as easy to understand and follow as the rest of the video instructions. Also, getting the firing pin disconnect and the spring was tricky.
That was also my experience. Had my bullpup working great, decided to see if the spring kit would work with it, trigger wouldn't reliably reset after putting in the new springs. Oh well, it shoots pretty good even with the terrible trigger.
Well, I finally got it all installed. It functions fine. This was a ton of work for one little spring. I do not think I will be changing the trigger after all that. Installing the trigger return spring was extremely difficult even with a vice. Installing the safety selector was not a walk in the park either. I don't blame HBI. I think in hindsight the stock trigger, while heavy, isn't worth all the headache I went through replacing it. Oh well. Thanks for the video.
Well, when I tried to remove the 3mm screw holding the trigger pack in place, it was so tight my allen wrench gave a big snap, and now the screw can't be removed. The inside of the screw head is now rounded, and yes I used a quality allen key. Looks like I'm screwed here. I bought 3 of these spring kits to install in my Micro and two others I work with. Now that mine if screwed I told the others that no way am I going to try theirs after screwing mine up. Looks like I'm stuck with the horrible factory trigger.
I've been able to follow along relatively well up until removing the 5mm roll pin. My hammer seems to still be under pressure or cocked back and i am scared to pull the 5mm roll pin out. How do you get the hammer loose initially and out ? I put everything back together and pulled the trigger but once I broke it down again the hammer is still under pressure and not loose like in the video. Thanks
If you find yourself in the same position as me, having an *extremely* hard time installing the TRS without the legs crossing, then try taking something small like a bobby pin(toothpick would probably work) and wedge it between the lower leg of the TRS and the sear to keep the TRS against the trigger housing body. simply remove it when you have the pin for the hammer/disco in far enough to keep everything in place. Worked like a charm for me, but ymmv.
There was a range of Evo's (early 2017) that seemed to exhibit increased drag/friction due to burrs and over-formed sheetmetal trigger housings. Installing the shim will never make your trigger worse. However it can be tricky to install, and for some people the marginal benefit might not outweigh the difficulty of placing/installing the shim. That is why we call it "optional". But, again, it will never hurt to install it if you are unsure.
5 years later this video is still relevant, thanks for helping. I’m impressed with HBI.

Installing the trigger return spring was extremely difficult even with a vice. Installing the safety selector was not a walk in the park either. I don't blame HBI. I think in hindsight the stock trigger, while heavy, isn't worth all the headache I went through replacing it. Oh well. Thanks for the video.
You can replace the trigger without taking anything apart. Just knock the punch out at the top of the trigger and replace the trigger.
The factory screws are notoriously soft... ruclips.net/video/dlpgImY8B3s/видео.html
Thanks
How the heck do you the safety rod back on, I’m killing my fingers - it won’t fit
I love you for making this video ❤
Why or why not would one need to install the shim again? I know they said that 98% would not but how do you know if you need it or not?
There was a range of Evo's (early 2017) that seemed to exhibit increased drag/friction due to burrs and over-formed sheetmetal trigger housings. Installing the shim will never make your trigger worse. However it can be tricky to install, and for some people the marginal benefit might not outweigh the difficulty of placing/installing the shim. That is why we call it "optional". But, again, it will never hurt to install it if you are unsure.
@@hb_industries awesome! Thank you for the quick response. Hoping this is an easy install from home 🤞🏻
This was perfect, seamless install
Thanks for the video: took a while since I didn’t have a vise to grip onto the housing. Otherwise, great video!
Having trouble getting safety bar back in ,no snap in
