Return to Forever was a super group of jazz virtuosos Chick Corea on keyboards, Stanley Clarke on bass, Al DiMeola on guitar and lenny White on drums.

"Romantic Warrior" is their Faberge Egg. Perfection. Every song, especially the title cut and the amazing "Duel of the Tyant and Jester". This was very great too. All masters.

Thanks this is one my absolute favorites from this band I mean from their entire career 1972- 1977. With every version of the band I found my favorites, and I love each version of the band. Chick Corea (RIP) and the other members of the band: Stanley Clarke, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, Joe Farrell, Lenny White, Bill Connors, Al Di Meola, Gayle Moran have always left me with sense of possibilities for music. Just like all the other Jazz Rock/ Fusion bands of the time.

Such a great tune - and one that doesn't get a lot of attention. Its a relatively rare Al Dimeola composition from RTF's 5th album, No Mystery released the year before Romantic Warrior so, a really good taste of their original line up. Good one!

Same here. It's always nice to see the youngsters react to the music we grew up with.

Title track is really good. No Mystery. This lineup is 100% talent. Race With The Devil on Spanish Highway is that song you were trying to recall. I owned this LP and may have overlooked this track? Outstanding.

The trail widens out with this one .
Top Shelf Maeastros at the top of their respective games .
Chick Corea - and all who collaborated with him - never disappoints ...as deep a well musically as there is .

Grew up with this and all the fused jazz plus the Latin plus the heavy metal plus the hot disco.
Never had it better as today I have my own band fusing this stuff somewhat as we're all knuckle heads un-schooled unwanted.
But we destroy rule once in a while 😉🙂🙏😉💪😎🎸

I remember parts of this piece as being background music / interludes for NPR educational programs.
Of all of Chick's early electric line-ups, my favorite album has to be "Where Have I Known You Before" ... mostly for the wide variety of musical influences on the album, stand-outs being Stanley Clarke's "Vulcan Worlds" and Chick's delicate title cut "Where Have I Known You Before". Still, my favorite single piece by any of Chick's RTF line-ups is the title cut from the first album, "Return to Forever". Something about that Airto - Flora combination brings Chick into primal territory. Still gives me goose bumps.

TRY Vulcan Worlds by RTF. It has a great 3 minute intro by Chic Corea.
RTF, DIXIE DREGS, BRAND X, BILLY COBHAM, SANELY CLARK... So many great bands you have not heard yet...!
