@Slater Slater chronologically speaking, I suppose it’s possible, but I’ll bet the dialogue is from the same movie as the soundtrack album from which it comes :)
Paul would love to know more about your recollections of Rock Against Racism - am working on a major RAR exhibition at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill and part of that is gathering reminiscences/audio testimonies. If you would like to record a few minutes of those and send in for potential radio use/exhibition contribution and certainly archive please see www.dlwp.com/rock-against-racism-audio-testimonies-call-out/ Be great to get your story - powerful. Big Respect. Your father was a massive part of a collective of bredrens who supported one another as well as the yute in that community. May his soul be blessed and his memories and legacy be a blessing.
This was my first ever Notting Hill Carnival, the camera fleetingly captures me @ 8.50 during the 'You Are The One For Me' song (teenager with the 'fro at the front of the crowd, arms slumped over the barrier). Eddy Grant, and King Sounds & The Israelites were the two daytime headline stage acts not featured in the doc. here (who were both on their A-game that day). Remember being gutted missing out on the Aswad performance, as had promised my parents I'd be home before nightfall. Thanks you Steve Shaw for posting this golden memory, a time when Carnival was something to truly savour, and a London that's sadly no more.
The football at the beginning was in Kennington - the open space with the tower blocks on the Brandon Estate near the Rastafarian Temple at St Agnes Place. I used to live on the estate.

How did we go from love, unity and equality for all to the mess we have today! Its a real shame.
Alot of it has to do with the Media family.
Government. Moment they sense unity amongst *everyone* (that includes racists) that's when it's worries. For them.
