- There are few reggae bands in the world that can equal MIR’s extensive career. They started out as the support band for the legendary Nicky Thomas, joined the 1970s protest movement in London, and melted the iron curtain as one of the first to perform in Russian and Poland, and, later on, post-apartheid South Africa.
MIR played an important role in shaping the London reggae sound and in confronting the challenging reality facing the blacks in London and around the world. MIR’s ideology, combining civil protest with the values of Rastafarianism, has kept the band in the public eye for over 40 years, despite several years of inactivity and changes in their lineup. In 2002, when they released the album Roots Controller and returned to the music scene in full force, they were welcomed back enthusiastically by both audiences and critics.

Wow Tafi 38years ago you witnessed them, this is truly amazing, how I wish just once I could. Much love to Zimbabwe.
Mxo I heard them around 2004 I think, well my late dad loved raggae so I grew up conscious raggae and I love and still chant to such melodies. My wish is to see them perform just once but should also check on tour dates see if I can make it to 1.

Give large thanks. The very definition of Conscious Iration. One note to the uploader, with Raspect, in the description you have written "Rastafarianism". Rastafari not an "ISM". Bless.

What time is it when the big spliff points at the bong? A nice spliff after a nice bong and who cares in what order both are going to get you nice n high.
Am I mistaken or on drums is Steve 'Grizzly' Nisbett, Steel Pulse?
Sadly the first 20+ minutes of the show are plagued by signal noise/popping.
Playlist?

HI there here is some good news, you know the song with these words From TRripoli to Tipoly as Bucky M once sang, you know what I mean and the march of the GANJA PLANTS WENT ON THE MOVE sang to the tune the animals went in two by two, why can't GANJA PLANTS DO THE SAME? WORRY NOT, THEY CAN HOORAH HOORAH.

E show
is the drummer steve' grizzly' nesbitt? old drummer from steel pulse.
steppin razor : No it won’t be Grizzly as he died over a year ago.
@@marleyite i came looking for this information....whats that word? ...doppleganger? did you factor in this concert date?
@@7231892 : Irrespective of the date, the drummer was not Grizzly.
Grizzly retired a while back before his sad passing due to health reasons.
Point taken.
Ótima banda e também ótimo vocalista.Mais o baixista é um show a parte.!!
