- Dear listeners, it seems as though this video is being blocked worldwide unless I remove the description (including the tracklist). I tried re-entering it after the first block and it was blocked again shortly after. I'm not quite sure what the offending word or phrase was, but for now the tracklisting will remain deleted (I'll pin it in the comments). Volume 1 seems to remain unaffected.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

💖 Thank for this. I am Jamaican-American. When I was growing up, it was not popular among black folks to be Jamaican or to listen to reggae, here in the US on the East coast. When we visited my dad's family in JA, we would spend most of our time at my grandmother's home in the mountains. We would hear music from the dancehall miles away at night, and my cousins and I would be up, in the (dirt) road, dancing. I partially bonded with the UK punk movement because of its inclusion of ska and reggae. It was then that I found my tribe. Roots Rock Reggae.
Deep comment
Thank you Linda
Idk why whities love reggae and ska in the US, but I decided to not let it lessen my deep appreciation for the music. I'm white of course, but I shouldn't have to be ashamed of everything hahaha Reggae is def roots punk✌
très beaux commentaire... very nice comment.
@@mydogslikeboiledeggs7094 nothing wrong with white folks loving reggae. enjoy
In the early 80's, in San Francisco, the punk bands like Flipper, Dead Kennedys etc. would always have this heavy dub playing before the shows started. It was a beautiful juxtaposition of two very different but in so many ways similar music.
Both are "rebel" music. Dub is a form of Reggae and both Reggae and Punk were/are rebel music.
Or cheese and wine. ;-)
nice.
Bad Brains
Thanks for an excellent example of a band that played both Reggae and Punk well.
Early 80s.. squatting, dancing and slumming in Key West... After a while a lot of bars did not like having reggae bands, the customers didn't buy much booze, just fruit juice and soda water, with frequent trips to the parking lot to smoke...it was a golden age down there..
Yea, and some 'hard' lookin dreads would come in the club and say they were 'with the band'. The door guys didn't know what to do, (but lose money). But man those Reggae bands were 'bringing it'! Charlotte, NC Double Door Inn (now deceased)😞
Omg...this is sounds soooo true and hilarious at the same time. Thanks for the holler 😊😙😊
O
Omg...this sounds so true, yet so hilarious 🤣. Thanks for the 😂
I admire your experience during that time , such a shame that it became about money with the owners of some of theese establishments. We can take the greed out of our minds through rewiring techniques so our integrity can shine and we can all stand as brothers an sisters, anyhow bless you thank you for the perspective

wow Thank you!
I visited Jamaica many times in years ago when dancehall was the rage. Back inna the day, you would hear reggae in the country side from miles away from traveling sound'men'.. There was something pure and magnetic in that distant beat and harmony. All these years later, i yearn for it deep within me and miss the siren sound of them.
Magical time and place.
Can we have more places playing this music? This is what the world needs! ❤❤
😊@❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤aaaaa❤😊
This music got me through lockdown , I shit you not , deep reggae dub and good weed, I'll never forget it, and right now it's 3 years later, 7am spliff time and some deep reggae dub, let the good times roll.
When I was much younger, I would smoke weed in the morning. _And my brain wouldn't work for the rest of the day._
70s and 80s were the best years for roots reggae and dub.right on man.
Really? Sometimes I'm tempted to say stuff like this, I'm born '63. The thing is this. As time goes, nothing great is lost. Not only do we have all the greatness from the fifties onwards, but we've got Grunge and Dub today. Not to mention the better versions of Rap etc. The only problem is humans still only have two ears and limited years.
I understand why you've made that statement, but.... This music was becoming so popular that society, and the musical hierarchy, wanted it subdued. It's as popular, and out-there, as ever but refuse to allow it on to the radio, and drive clubs that play it to close down...
@@keithpalmer3780 that’s right I get where you are coming from.
For real !
Allot of people didn't get it right man I did peace to you all😢
This is my official "pull me out of a bad trip" mix
Dear listeners, I'm sorry that RUclips has now put ads in this mix. If I had a choice to disable them I would. There are many copyright strikes so any revenue generated is not going to me. I hope you can still enjoy it!
At the time of writing this, Slow & Heavy Dub Volume 1 is still ad-free.
Edit: there are plenty of good suggestions of ways to bypass the ads in the replies to this comment.
And just to be clear, I have no problem with revenue going to the original creators of the music. The revenue generated here I believe is going to the label parent companies, who could very easily post the individual tracks (or groups of tracks exceeding 10 minutes) that they own themselves to make money from advertising, and leave mixes like this alone for the listeners wanting music and nothing more.
Thanks for the Upload x

This music, in the style of King Tubby and Jamaican roots reggae has influenced my musical style since I was a wee lad in the 70’s. As a working bassist and tubist, the rhythmic feel and sparse-simple parts have influenced my own approach of building bass lines and overall development of ear training.
This is true-modern roots music; where you hear both urban and rural Jamaican rhythms and languages infused.
🧡🙏🎶
This is the playlist that made me fall in love with Dub reggae! big up to the maker if this mix!
The transition from one track to the next is so seamless... I love it.
What the world needs now is DUB SWEET DUB!!!
I totally agree..💫💫💫
Divine madness.
Old reggae speaks to my heart
Babe, don’t worry bout the ads coming in. You’re doing us a massive solace and favour with this upload of this beautiful example of the fabulous old style dub reggae. Many people will find this and their souls will find healing from this sacred music. A couple ads won’t stop the good works. Blessings and thanks 🙏😊☺️🥰
Just rolled a fat cone.....going to enjoy it while listening to this.
Takes me back to listening to John Peel show in 70's and 80's. Fantastic.

@@nukubu9379 I've noticed a few of your bitter little comments. Pretty sad, I feel sorry for you.
@@darkdeepred6577 isn't nostalgia even worse? It's an actual force stopping people from changing the world. I see it as a white flag, something totally anti-rebelious. We used to fight with the older generation and when we failed, we suddenly put the guilt on the younger generation. Now that's sad.
@@strangelove9608 as for the first - is it projection? Because you say what I think, but I don't think that. So yeah, that's sad. As for examples, I'm mostly involved in promotion of young NGO by helping them as a programmer and photographer - you can google my name and you'll get your answer.
PS: also I'm not anarchoprimitivist - I don't have a clue how did you get that conclusion. Maybe because you don't understand what's nostalgia - you show me phrase which have nothing to do with it. As Wikipedia defines it: sentimentality for the past. It's not using past experiences, but sentimentality. It's not standing on shoulders - it's talking how giants were great, but now they are gone and everything's shit.
@@KrzysiuNet not nostalgia, dis a pure musical perfection.
Dub is the best music to listen. You only have yo close your eyes and relax

real roots rock reggae music make i extra proud of black
Its a GREAT culture with beautiful music :)
this music cannot be played without. SOUL AND LOVE
The bass is so dirty that I had to take it outside and turn the garden hose on it.
yes, but if it was an electric bass, surely that could have engendered some water damage to the bass guitar, and even affect its playing. That does seem a rather careless thing for you to do. There are ample tutorials on how best to look after a bass guitar, as well as cleaning it properly.
🤣
hahahahaha made my day thanks

Why would anyone look for dub on RUclips and dislike this wicked mix ?
Why do people do anything.
chronic thc deficiency,
Because they're 19 yr old white kids looking for that godawful edm techno shit
Not all 19 year olds 👍
Used to listen to Dr. Dick's Dub Shack on Live365 radio back in the day while I studied or just played Xbox. Endless dub mixes like this, played at night, really take me back to a simpler time.
This brings me back 40 years ago- man, I used to kick back & love listening to as much dub music as I could!
This is great stuff.
I get to skip the culture, the mj and the politics of reggae, and cut straight to the heart of the beat.
Thank you for posting this.
Legendary,Iconic these duds are timeless, respect to King Tubbys,Augustus Pablo RIP 🕊👑❤️💛💚
THIS SHOULD NEVER BE BLOCKED!!!
Every ad that comes up during this mix is going on a list of companies that I will actively boycott. RUclips has just screwed those advertisers over.
Protip: skip to the end of the video, then replay ad-free.
Yeah, dog. That's the way to wage modern warfare- get 'em where it hurts, their money! On and on, brudda mon.

Dub requires spiritual contentment and consciousness within purity acknowledgment of natural surroundings and acceptance of all bountiful creation
Lol that’s sort of antithetical to the entire history of the island known as Jamaica. The fact one of their major FM stations features a morning missing persons block daily is all you need to know
Brings back good memories of standing in halls listening to this kind of amazing music. Swaying and smokin
Now then, this is a good one. Definitely one of the best 70's 80's dub compilation.
Dub Heaven... Thank You! (A reggae drummer in Montana)
As a 26 year ol’ Jamaican this sounds will never be replaced
This just transports me back to the days of the Skankers and MilliSteppers in Brixton Town Hall... We would fling foot till dance DONE!… Irrespective of how tired we were… Next tune would buss, and dance ha fe dance!… STRAIGHT!… Big up Jah Shaka, and Ras Coxsone… Small Axe, Sofrana B, and Frontline International… too many to mentions all. Some great days…

Peace & good vibrations should be taught in primary schools. Less wars, more love, sharing & respect. /\
These two mixes capture the world of dub at its most majestic and meditative - hope you're planning to post more sometime soon.
I see no negative comments here. This is how all music presentations should be.There is no room for negative judgement in a musical presentation. It ruins it for others. Thanks Red for making these fine videos.

Mate, this mix is heavy! Finally I found a mix in the same style I mix and collect records! The Style is late 70’s early 80’s (Rockers stylee and Radics rub-a-dub style) of which I’m deep in listening too. There’s a lot of Scientist mixes in this mix as well.
