Sim was one of the most underrated drummers of the 90's, and he & Melvin were a killer section. And Chris was a damn good guitar player. I miss this group.:(
Melvin was the best thing to ever happen to Rollins Band. Andrew Weiss was good, but sort of a frustrated guitar player. Gibbs was a bass player who knew the role of the instrument. He had deep roots in jazz and funk, but loved rock and played in a very early version of Living Color (IIRC, Vernon Reid recommended Gibbs to Rollins). Great addition to a band who always had a bit of experimental and jazz leanings.
@@cerebralcaustic I preferred Andrew - his basslines on songs like "Tearing" were so energetic and aggressive, and took the song to the next level. Gibbs is too smooth for intense heavy music.
HinjuRock I agree.. Weiss was more exciting live too.. Melvin is great technically and is the best replacement for the nuanced parts, just much less punk attitiude..
This was the incarnation of Rollins Band that I always preferred. I heard that Come in and Burn was critically panned, but to me it was a phenomenal album.
Whos listening to rollins band still in 2018? These guys were the best workout material back in my young rebelious days now im just an old guru rebel who listens to henry and works out lol
I had no idea there was a video for this song until 4minutes ago. I got the album as a graduation/birthday gift in 97 and listened to it on repeat that entire summer.
Henry Rollins is a true artist I always bow in honor to his raw and powerful works he has held my hand through many an eve of emotional strife in a musical sense he has given me such strength to move forward. He is a lion.A
I stay out late I go alone I needed sleep I go without I go along I go all night I go all night I make the colors go I push my senses out I push my senses out I keep my existence lean I starve starve I make the colors go I starve starve I make the colors go And hear I am keen eyed my mind is low to the ground And in my mind real time is mine and I know what I know I step up and get none I step up and get none I take less and less and less and less and less than none I starve starve I make the colors go I starve starve I make the colors go At the back of mind I hear the engines whine At the back of mind I hear the engines whine Go all night go all night I make my blood scream I kiss my fear on the mouth I kiss my fear on the mouth I make my blood burn I starve starve I make the colors go I starve starve I make the blood scream I make the blood burn And when I step up I get up all the way And when I step up I get off all the way When turn my back and walk away I never come back I go without I feel the cold but I never come back I go long I am gone I starve starve I make the colours go I starve starve I make the blood scream I make the blood burn
when you get hungry put this on and you will not STARVE. this is my number 1 rollins band jam. ruff and dirty and loud man.you have to turn this up man.
First time listening to Henry in awhile.. All the emotions I had before returned.. and the conquering feeling of beating those emotions returns as the song gets closer to the end... I starve !
One of the best All Star Band groups ever the Rollins band and this song tells you and shows you what they went through just to put together one track this is not some CD format MP3 shet this was on reel to reel for real awesome love this f****** song
weight was such a dope album. the whole score!!! raw animal power backed up by a serious band lineup that wasn't afraid to push the limits. this album cost me 2 sets of speakers in my car!!!!!! I think the clip of hank @ 2:35 was a show in brazil that he talked about where he knocked himself out while trying to rock out!!!! funny to hear him tell the story of it!! Rock on Hank!!!
Drummers who don't get as much recognition as they should, due to coming from punk bands: Sim Cain Spit Stix Lucky Lehrer Bill Stevenson D H Peligro Etc...
@youandyamum I don't think that clip at the end is of when he cracked his head open because as you can see, in this only his nose is bust. The incident he spoke about he kneed himself in the forehead. But it's so cool to see him like that! haha
I love rollins band. Could never understand why Henry was also underwhelmed with his backing band. These guys were tight and a Swiss clock, ALWAYS ON TIME
The best version of this song is the SNL performance, its fucking insane. they even change the guitar riff a bit and amp the whole song up, its nuts. IMPOSSIBLE to find that performance online though, somone please find!!!! Peace!
This song is really awesome since Mr. Henry Rollins was at the Met Cafe in Rhode Island Still keeping the Proleteriats messages alive! Make those Scabs totally starve!
New Rollins Band fan 2024 😎😍
Good for you bro :)
Good for you Sis ;)
This whole damn album was amazing! Still listen to it regularly to this day.
I think the 90's were the peak of human civilization
maybe the late 80s coasting into the 90s. somewhere right in there. certainly nothing after that.
Agent Smith would agree with you ;)
Well...late 80's to early/mid 90's were good.
Much better than now, IMHO.
You are correct
Musically speaking yes. Womenly speaking, no ;)
The bassist is a hero
My uncle Henry always sets me straight when I lose my way...
me to brother
yerp he's great like that.
Biggest inspiration!
Right on.

Esto es como la cocaína que nunca pasa de moda 😮
This song made me survive college after my dad died.
Got me through rehab
hang in there man
same here, when my parents died in my teens. Got over it with will and focus.
Might not be as dark for me, but that album helped me through a tough spot as well, giving it a special place in my heart!
That's some heavy stuff. Gods bless..
This was the incarnation of Rollins Band that I always preferred. I heard that Come in and Burn was critically panned, but to me it was a phenomenal album.
We had an amazing time recording this record. Great musicians TOTAL KICK ASS
Nice to see Bearsville studios. So much history in that studio but it just couldn't compete with the studios in the city.
steve thompson excellent album!
Such a great sound to this album. One of my top choices! 🍻
What a great fucking work, man. This song is such a classic now
@@TheStorehouseOfMemories whole album is so underrated, real banger!!

I’m in my mid 50’s….. I miss the shows, EPIC…. But I’ll reminisce, soon at soundstage…
Henry really gets into it with his Intenseness.
One of the Best DRUM tracks EVER. That guy was a BEAST.
Sim Cain!
Yo ,theshit,on drums
Great rhythm section
Drummer has a good rhythm & speed and sound contrtol, I agree with you... Strong Magic Power...
My number one Rollins band jam. This is also a great video. The man bleeds in the video and has a hard time breathing. I love it man .
Sim Cain is such a bad-ass drummer. And goddamn, hearing this song brought me right back to the late 90's - I miss that decade so much.
Right on, brother... This drum score is one of the greatest in music. Can't explain why, but it delights my brain
@@BlueSun1157
Drum score? This isn't a classical symphony music, dude - lol
Rollins' vocals are a masterpiece, his band, the guitars, the drums, too perfect !!!
ffs !! I saw Henry sing in RB 1989, Spoken Word last September, but missed him singing on stage !!! mind blowing I got pics of him 89.
Masterpiece? Not even close
Whos listening to rollins band still in 2018? These guys were the best workout material back in my young rebelious days now im just an old guru rebel who listens to henry and works out lol
Yup. Can confirm. Still the best workout material in the young rebellious days.

Still listening to them. This shit doesn't get old! :)
Here in 2020
Always be a rebel, always work out
Henry always has a terrific line up of musicians
Yeah, while this lineup was my favorite, Rollins Band never had a weak one.
Sim Cain. Jesus, that guy on this album😊
He creates music for the addict and the sober addict! This album is epic!
Great song... Drums REALLY make it dynamic.
Henry Rollins knows how to express in words things about me that I can't even explain to myself. Like this song, I FEEL IT! I'VE BEEN EXACTLY THERE!!
It sucks that bands like this arent "mainstream"... if you could turn on your radio or mtv and hear music like this the world would be a better place
When I find my self.slipping or just feeling weak or disillusioned henry rollins music helps me .
How could anyone not like this bad ass . Truly a awesome song
I had no idea there was a video for this song until 4minutes ago. I got the album as a graduation/birthday gift in 97 and listened to it on repeat that entire summer.
Henry is my biggest inspiration. He is the greatest artist.
Guitar bass drums vocals, all a stand out. Nuff said.
Best Line UP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Favorite Rollins Band song. The lyrics just mean so much to me.

One of the most intense bands on the planet.ever.period
I stay out late
I go alone
I needed sleep
I go without
I go along
I go all night
I go all night
I make the colors go
I push my senses out
I push my senses out
I keep my existence lean
I starve starve
I make the colors go
I starve starve
I make the colors go
And hear I am keen eyed my mind is low to the ground
And in my mind real time is mine and I know what I know
I step up and get none
I step up and get none
I take less and less and less and less and less than none
I starve starve
I make the colors go
I starve starve
I make the colors go
At the back of mind I hear the engines whine
At the back of mind I hear the engines whine
Go all night go all night
I make my blood scream
I kiss my fear on the mouth
I kiss my fear on the mouth
I make my blood burn
I starve starve
I make the colors go
I starve starve
I make the blood scream
I make the blood burn
And when I step up I get up all the way
And when I step up I get off all the way
When turn my back and walk away
I never come back
I go without I feel the cold but I never come back
I go long
I am gone
I starve starve
I make the colours go
I starve starve
I make the blood scream I make the blood burn
FFS !!! I love every word Henry sings, in every Black Flag and Rollins Band song, I know them all, sing it all the time!
The best in inspiration and motivation!
Lyrics only a handful of ppl could sing and mean them.
I use "Come in and burn" when i go painting outside. This record gives me power.
Henry Rollins rules....

Sim Cain is the Vinnie Colaiuta of hard rock drummers.

Never been much of a fan of Rollins Band or really even Henry Rollins for that matter, but this song does have a catchy riff.
The hardest chord , drumbeat . bass line , vocal ......
@youandyamum I don't think that clip at the end is of when he cracked his head open because as you can see, in this only his nose is bust. The incident he spoke about he kneed himself in the forehead. But it's so cool to see him like that! haha
My Fave! Happy birthday Hank!

Simeon Cain is an insane drummer
Hank knows when to push away from the table....

Nice of Henry to lend his shirt to the drummer.
