18, 18, 18 18 years of fear 18 years of humiliation I never said no I stagger wounded, blind In the shadow of intimidation I am the man from a human choke hold I am the product of your restraint I watched the years pass by me Never once did I complain Never once did I say no Now I watch myself explode My body is scarred by age Now you get to taste my rage From the wreckage of humiliation I got my self respect I pulled myself together What the hell did you expect You should see the pain I go through When I see myself I see you Everything that you did I do When I see myself I see you I see you Rage Humiliation fear Intimidation Humiliation fear 18 Years staggering in the shadow Of intimidation I take my fear my humiliation I crush my fist I open my hand I've got a diamond My diamond is rage I've got diamonds in my eyes I'm just like you My bloods not my blood Just like you My minds not my mind Attacked and unkind
Very intense, powerful song. It's dark, it's a form of catharsis. You can feel that Henry's rage is REAL. He's not kidding. He really suffered; that's what really gets me emotional. Great art!
i listened to this in high school 20 years ago and listen on a tour through memory and - someone commented an hour ago. guess this song stands the test of time for some.....
Henery and this one song was more of a father figure to me than my genetic father. Thanks Henry for getting me through the rough times. Your lyrics and rage saved me from many years I'm prison. Forever solidarity brother, from Winnipeg.
LoL you a time traveller too someone just posted me that 😭🤣🤣🤣😂 I said I'm fukn old unbelievable 👍❤️🙏 from Australia saw his first gig in Australia I was 16 underage so yeah timetraveller I wish I'd go Bak to that gig kicked ass bass player broke a string
Henry _was_ in fact molested as a child. And there's a lot of weird stuff he wrote about his father in his books. In one he said how he wished he could've been there at his autopsy to see how pitiful he looked. I remember him saying how he would've laughed at his shriveled dick and making a stew out of his heart. I read that when I was like 12 and _still_ remember it in my late 30s.
@@clifftrainor6774 His father was evil to him. He was abusive, racist, homophobic, misogynistic and told Henry over and over that he would amount to nothing. If I was him, I'd say the same.
@@clifftrainor6774 I thought the molestation was just a speculation among fans, since in the Henry & Heidi podcast, they talked about how he only told a few people in his life about a moment with his father that was extremely traumatic. What made you say that was what really happened?
18, 18, 18
18 years of fear
18 years of humiliation
I never said no
I stagger wounded, blind
In the shadow of intimidation
I am the man from a human choke hold
I am the product of your restraint
I watched the years pass by me
Never once did I complain
Never once did I say no
Now I watch myself explode
My body is scarred by age
Now you get to taste my rage
From the wreckage of humiliation
I got my self respect
I pulled myself together
What the hell did you expect
You should see the pain I go through
When I see myself I see you
Everything that you did I do
When I see myself I see you
I see you
Rage
Humiliation fear
Intimidation
Humiliation fear
18 Years staggering in the shadow
Of intimidation
I take my fear my humiliation
I crush my fist
I open my hand
I've got a diamond
My diamond is rage
I've got diamonds in my eyes
I'm just like you
My bloods not my blood
Just like you
My minds not my mind
Attacked and unkind

I like your observations. Spot on.
The whole album is like a cold shower!
He didn't write the song, Henry Rollins would make Twinkle Twinkle Little Star sound like an anxiety attack
@@c.s.7097 Henry no la escribió, es verdad, lo que lo hace aún mejor intérprete.
First heard this song over 30 years ago, it's still a punch to the gut. I had 18 years of intimidation from my father too. Thank you Henry.
_I'VE GOT DIAMONDS IN MY EYEZZZZ_

@@93X777 it does, I was made aware of Henry Rollins not less than a year ago and he became one of my favourite Hollywood people

Ironically, he was a father to a lot of us.
Awesome song maybe I just needed that jail time to sink in what I am...I honestly wouldn't still be breathing without hernry
This song spoke to me so strong the first time I heard it, and still does to this day.

Henry expresses a level of pain, which we all know, he doesn't get enough credit for, it's pure
Sounds like my youth, rose above it, and use the anger as fuel for productivity fuck being a victim, be the protector
Relevant to this day!!!! Heaviest shit ever done....Thanks, Hank!!!
I remember an interview with Henry about this song.
The first thing he said was "I hate my dad".
Kept me alive this song
Thanos wouldn't of lasted a minute if Henry was the incredible Hulk.
Thanos wouldn't stand a chance against Henry himself.
Thanos has nothing on Henry
These lyrics are Powerful as fuck
Great Song and powerful.
2:41 my legs where just going to cut out in the gym but somehow this part pushed me on and I kept trodding on.
This was my wedding ring. ❤❤❤❤❤
Too bad I first heard this when I was 21. It would've been perfect if this was released in 88.
at least you hear it now
Confidence, born in the thralls of intimidation, forged in the fires of abuse. I too sir, have diamonds in my eyes
It is not only tough but breeds hatred of humanity.
the drums in the beginning of this remind me of the drums in the beginning of Third Eye by Tool
This song fuckin rocks with a capital R!
taaaste……..my…… RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEEEE
I feel like Korn’s “Daddy” was inspired by this song.
Probably!
Funny you should say that, I always felt there were so many similarities between the two songs.
Korn is a kiddy pop group for kiddies

For Shannon Waldin........

If you want it to be, yes. It can be interpreted in many other ways though that's the beauty of it.
