I love how Bon Scott & AC/DC unite hardcore punk rockers, metal headbangers and old school rock n' rollers. Not many bands could claim to do that... Motörhead and The Ramones and that's about it.
It's June 30, 2024 and I never knew this even existed until randomly seeing it -- thanks RUclips spies -- showing on top of this site page today. Really cool cover and funny tribute idea by Henry Rollins with the piece of tape on his shirt. Father Henry. Father Bon Scott. Hahaha. Henry Rollins and Black Flag played a free lunch time concert at my San Pedro High School in California in the early 1980s. Henry's microphone didn't work the whole time so he just screamed his off head the whole show. Students threw their lunches at him on stage. When Black Flag finished their set, Henry reached down to the ground, picked up an apple, took a bite and said "thank you San Pedro High for the free lunch."
Me too!!! I'm soooooooo glad I'm NOT the ONLY ONE I've been a fan of Rollins since I first saw Liar on Beavis and Butthead And The Chase Later 20+ years ago in high school I got into Black Flag I swear this video might have just manifested into reality When we NEEDED it most
Me too!!! Since Liar first came out on Beavis and Butthead Since The Chase first came out Since his specials were still on Comedy Central I swear THIS might have just spawned into REALITY This video is one big Mandella Effect
Still remember the first time triple J played this. The entire workshop just stopped production and sat there with their mouth's open.. 90 - 91, last of the great era's of Rock..
Parabéns! Fundiu a fúria do Punk com a energia do Rock n Roll . Parabéns também pela ótima voz e não esqueceu de cuidar da forma física como sempre. Todos estão de Parabéns!
Saw the hard ons at the underground in London about 20 years ago 😜 they were fantastic and the singer from the strokes got up and did a couple of songs with them ⚡
The Hard-Ons live was always a combination of ridiculous levels of fun and face ripping intensity. Someone described them as a cross between the Beach Boys and Motörhead
Lucky enough to have seen The Hard- Ons in the U.K. in 93 round this time. Also see The Rollins Band many times, doesn’t get much better then that. Met Ray in HMV Sydney years ago when I was on holiday from the U.K. He was working in the classical music section 😂
This is from an Australian 90's Bon Scott tribute album. There was some seriously kick arse covers on it. I'd still have a copy laying around somewhere on CD 🤔 I've killed too many brain cells in past 30 years to remember name of album 😂 If I find it I'll post it.
Are you thinking of "Fusebox"(1995)? It sounds like an awesome album but, this song isn't listed (at least on wikipedia, for what that's worth). As a fan of both Rollins and AC/DC, I'm surprised I've never heard of this cover before now.
@jamesdalton2014 Yeah that was the album 🤷♂️ Thought it was from there. But you're right, not there. So many bands I loved at the time when I was 19! 😂🤣
Sydney (Paddington) 1989 opening up for The Rollins Band Henry actually did a couple songs with them however I don't remember which ones ! GREAT SHOW 😊
OH - MY - GOD - this song blasted my my 14 year old mind open to ROCK and I'm such a Henry Rollins fan - and today is the first time I see this! Thank you for uploading this, and thank you, algorithm, for presenting it. Absolute gold. Never heard of the Hard-Ons too, will look into them, this is FANTASTIC
Still have the E.P record. Got played a lot in our little share house at the time. One of the songs was 'Earache My Eye' by Cheech and Chong. Can't remember the other tracks. Good times indeed!
I was in a record shop and was going through the albums. I found a hard ons album with an interesting cover. I searched the whole cluttered cover for the artists name. While doing so i noticed three autographs in ball point pen. I told the shop owner. His response "who cares! No one is going to pay for hard on autographs" one of the signatures said something like "get bent YANK!"
Man.....Australia music always wins with me. Acdc Radio birdman The saints Hard-ons Fun things The chats INXS (yeah i said it) Celibate Rifles Airbourne... It just never ends. It just keeps going.
If you guys ever come across 1970 (hard ons cover of the stooges) from the aussie tribute album Hard to Beat, you are gonna love it. And it really should have been available on youtube or spotify. I only have it on vinyl.
Wicked Bon would be proud This song rocks nothing better listening to Ausise Rock chugging down on few VB Tins rock on Let there be rock Mother Farkers woo hoo Bon Scott RIP
I'm weirdly reminded of the Doors and "The End"... If the opening three minutes of Apocalypse Now was set in a full-on firefight, napalm strikes, miniguns hosing shit down...
I saw him with Flag the day the Challenger exploded. I was an astronomy major at the time so I was kind of excited yet bummed at the same time. I asked him to sign one of his books of poetry that they were selling alongside the shirts and stuff but it had no ink and he flicked it into my chest to show his irritation at my faux pas lol. That was kind of dumb of me; not very punk rock. Henry got groped during Flag's set by a skinhead chick so I hope that made up for it somewhat. Saw him again years later as the Rollins Band and watched as he kicked every dude who climbed on stage in the butt to knock them back onto the floor. He don't take crap from the fans. And his movies? Yes, please.
I love how Bon Scott & AC/DC unite hardcore punk rockers, metal headbangers and old school rock n' rollers. Not many bands could claim to do that... Motörhead and The Ramones and that's about it.

Misfits too
This has been a favourite for years. Henry and some local fellas just ripping shit up.

Later 20+ years ago in high school
I got into Black Flag
I swear this video might have just manifested into reality
When we NEEDED it most
i am not surprised that he did exactly that. he is known for identifiying as an oportunvore back in the 80s due to money
Same here... Just discovered it
Me too!
Ditto, I had both Black Flag and Hard Ons records back in the day, no idea this existed.
This is the very first time I hear a good AC/DC cover
I seen Henry and the hard ones live at the playroom on the GC in 1991@. Blew my mind
I’ve been a Rollins fan for 30 years and never seen or heard this!!🙏🙏🙏

Fuck sake another so called fan.. don't call yourself a fan....

Oh yeah! Haven't heard this for many years a classic on classic! 🤘
Saw them do this live at first big day out in 92. Right after Nirvana played. Lost my shoe in the pit. What a day!
You should put “Lost my shoe in the pit. What a day!” on a tee shirt.
a rock journo of the era said together they become The Hard Ones
Always with the one shoe in the pit. One of life's great mysteries.
I was there too my friend, never forget it!🤘
I was there too. Excellent stuff.
Fantastic AC/DC tribute .😊
Heard this on college radio in the 90s and totally forgot about it until now! Brilliant stuff RIP Bon Scott
Awesome quality,
I remember seeing this on Rage
late night Rage or early morning, can't sleep , you know why, ah youth
Parabéns! Fundiu a fúria do Punk com a energia do Rock n Roll . Parabéns também pela ótima voz e não esqueceu de cuidar da forma física como sempre. Todos estão de Parabéns!
I bought this years ago it was on a Hard Ons album and as a single. Henry in his prime.
What a fkn dream team. Such a sick link-up. Long live Hard Ons. Long, live Henry Rollins.
I haven't heard this since the 90s...
That was a good time for music
Saw the hard ons at the underground in London about 20 years ago 😜 they were fantastic and the singer from the strokes got up and did a couple of songs with them ⚡
The band looks like they're having an incredible amount of fun playing this, that's rockin it out!
The Hard-Ons live was always a combination of ridiculous levels of fun and face ripping intensity. Someone described them as a cross between the Beach Boys and Motörhead

Thank You Mr. Rollins
You Rocked This Again
Being clean and sober looks great on you.
You are extra handsome ¡
Dangerously Yours,
Diane
If you want to really enjoy the punk, turn your speed up to 1.25x. Guaranteed to make you smile.🤓👍
Perfect💥
Seen the hard ons so many times as in the 90s . They'd always be playing somewhere in Melbourne 🤘
Finally a HD version of this classic not the crappy uploaded youtube versions that was on rage back in the day 🙏
Love Rollins's masking tape collar...and his subtle change in the lyrics at the beginning.
Good cover
fck, this really rocks the house!!!! ohh, how much this music is missed these days! Pure energy and powaaaah!👌👏
The best thing I've heard from Henry is a cover of AC/DC by Hard Ons
Rollins voice goes great with this song!
Ok been a fan of both Hank and Rollins close to fucking 40 years, where tf has this been? ❤❤❤❤
Sensacional.
So damn righteous

This was a 10" single from more like 1991 or 1992 - it got a lot of play back then. "Carry me down" on the flip side
Hard-Ons y Henry Rollins ,la puta cabeza me estalla!!! ❤❤❤
Loved this in the 1990s, love it now
Cool to watch this. The best thing I remember from the 90s was Liar
I saw The Hard-Ons play at the Speedway Cafe in SLC in 1989. They opened for Poison Idea. Good fuckin show.
Sydney (Paddington) 1989 opening up for The Rollins Band Henry actually did a couple songs with them however I don't remember which ones ! GREAT SHOW 😊
The true punk rock Henry rollins congrats from BRAZIL
That bass tho phenomenal
Its a great cover
They also did a festival with Jerry A. from POISON IDEA singing. Must have been face melting!!!
Yeah, NOW, that's something I'd like to see.
Classic from the Rage days 🤙
That's the spirit ! Great work guys !
all set to go : )
MAN they play HARD!
This was released on a 10" during one of his 243 visits to Australia, if l remember The Stupids were on it too but l might have the two confused.
I didn't know this video existing.
Thank for update. What cool guys!
First heard of The Hard Ons from the skate mag "Perfect Transition". The review said were God

Look for AC/DC. They did this originally with Bon Scott as lead singer
@@DeepseaSteve it was AC/DC back then with Bon Scot in 1978 when I was 14! 😃 Sorry, I didn't write that comment very clearly. Thanks anyway! 🤘

So glad this is on YT!! Thanks fellas!
Ficou tão bom quanto o original!
Da Rollins of rock n roll 🤘
If you guys ever come across 1970 (hard ons cover of the stooges) from the aussie tribute album Hard to Beat, you are gonna love it. And it really should have been available on youtube or spotify. I only have it on vinyl.
Love the two pieces of masking tape to make a "priest collar."
this rocks thanks Henry.
Best thumbnail ever?
Well, my 2 favorite poets Bon & Henry right here in one.
Cool.
Wicked Bon would be proud This song rocks nothing better listening to Ausise Rock chugging down on few VB Tins rock on Let there be rock Mother Farkers woo hoo Bon Scott RIP
Hell yeah, 🤘🍺👊
Blackie is seriously the best punk guitarist that no one mentions
I saw The Hard Ons open up for The Rollins Band in Sydney (Paddington) in 1989 for a crowd of about 2000 people ! a truly fun and memorable show 😊
Love it...... near sounds like a chainsaw guitar!
I have this on vinyl, but I never knew there was a video made of it! Sweetness! ;)
I'm weirdly reminded of the Doors and "The End"... If the opening three minutes of Apocalypse Now was set in a full-on firefight, napalm strikes, miniguns hosing shit down...
New songs ❤
I miss his musical creations
This is one of Henry's best sounding vocals I've heard in years & they crank... very cool
love the VB case in the background. Couldn't have had a better singer and group to do this. \m/
Haven‘t heard that song for a very long time. Still so good. Would be one hell of a ride if AC/DC would invite Rollins to a show performing together.
Nicely done! I can appreciate the stethics, very cool
Hard ons were a great pub band back in the day !
WOW!💥
Hell yeah ❤😂😂❤❤❤❤

Kudos to my algorithm for this one
Why is Blackie wearing his jammies?
