This album got me through so many shitty work days when customers were pissing me off and everything was going wrong. I would get all pumped up on this album. Rollins Band's best, hands down.
richard dicks same here. I had to hear this again because Sunday's are in bearable. I'm like him. Time to look for some work. please, just let me work a Sunday.
EVERY NOTE,EVERY VERSE, EVERY CHORD CHANGE,THE GUITAR TONE,THE PUNISHING DRUMS,THE IMMACULATE DESPERATE VOCAL DELIVERY!!!!! AND THAT FUCKNG BASS!!!!! This ruled my world when it came out! Every song rules!!! And is unbelievable to this day in 2022. Beast of a workout soundtrack as well!
Whenever I get mad, I mean REALLY mad, this album is still the best outlet I ever found. Ever since I first heard it, live in 1988, I've always been blown out be it's intensity and true anger. Listening to this music is like destroying everything around you with a sledgehammer, especially if you can scream along with Henry (without the neighbours calling 911). When the album finishes, it leaves you totally exhausted, drained. Tried everything from Slayer to Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Minor Threat, Voivod, System of a Down, Pantera, name it, even Black Flag albums don't do it as good as Lifetime.
The Stooges "Raw Power" slides right into that list. "Life of Crime" is a criminally (sorry) over-looked record. I'll have to check that MA record out.
Steve Anderson Noisy, but no feelings. Extreme Noise Terror, Napalm Death or Chaos UK did this kinda thing earlier, but Rollins' Life Time is much more than noise and fast drumming. Bigger is not better, faster is not heavier, ya know. I saw Rollins in 87, when this album came out. Never saw anybody more intense on a stage since.
Lifetime is one of my oldest albums. I still have the cassette tape I bought in the 10th grade. From the get go, it was messed up. The audio fading in and completely out every few seconds, but I didn't even care. In fact it truly made the music mean more. Rollins Band never rehashed their past. These songs are totally of their time. If you are lucky enough to see footage of these songs performed live, it'll be from the mid80's, because once they played it they were done and moved on. That's who Rollins is.
Rollins is god. Like all my everything has been dug up an put on display through his music an spoken word. Thanks for making life more understandable when I was younger, I'm glad to know that I wasn't alone. Whoop, Whoop...
@sabbracadabra its Absolutely healthy, as long as you are releasing it in a positive/construtive way, like art, music or the pit. Just dont hurt yourself or anyone around you. I know its cliché, but its true. 🤘
Life Time (1987) produced by Ian MacKaye This! Ugh! So good! My first taste of Rollins in 1992 as a young, impressionable, tyke. :-) I AM ONE TIME I AM RIGHT HERE I AM WHAT'S LEFT I AM RIGHT HERE!
Dude have you heard hot animal machine? His first album after black flag broke up? It was basically the first rollins band release except it was released as a Henry rollins solo album. It's like this album but I like it more in a lot of respects. I found this album first and i think because hot animal machine is "newer" to me that probably had an effect, but its just groundbreaking stuff. His early releases after black flag were so progressive and no one gives him the credit he deserves.
Saw Henry Rollins in Vegas when driving on a family trip he was filming his show for the discovery channel So cool I yelled Henry out that window and he waved back ✌️♥️😜
Saw him in Dallas Texas with the toadies, end of silence tour, Rollins mic was having technical issues, cutting out every few seconds. He threw it down and sang the last few without. Kept telling the crowd to get their money back.
I've probably commented on this video before but it's worth saying again -- Henry and company were in rare form on this album. It's really great start to finish and I'm surprised that this album didn't make them take off (like Weight did seven years later).
I agree it’s an amazing album but when it came out in 87 the main stream music was mainly Hair Metal. The reason why The End of Silence did so well and pretty much broke the band into a higher level was because of the grunge movement. The End of Silence is a great record also but this album is better from start to finish. I haven’t listened to this album in years. Amazing album!!!
Having never read anything to this effect I still maintain that the dudes (specially Haskett ) who did the music on this were really into Die Kreuzen/Voivod /King Crimson even .
Gun In Mouth Blues...that´s a really intense fucked up song. Remember hearing this song in my headphones in an office where I worked, sourronded by old farts talking shit about me all the time. It was intense...
When I 1st heard this album/cassette It was early 90s and I realized I had it all wrong with my taste. I’m pretty sure I through a few cassettes out of my car window when I had this revelation
jennifer young 1Burned beyond recognition 2.what am I doing here? 3.1000 times blind 4.lonely 5.wreck-age 6.gun in mouth blues 7.you look at you 8.if you’re alive 9.turned out
Anyone else hear Pantera influenced by this sound ? Much less Phil shaving his head in early 1990 . This is metal punk Rollins with all the harmonics , I hear Dimebag , wanted to shred on these riffs.

It never gets old
Seš chytrej
Lifting to it now
Saw this tour at CBGB in NY City. Stood right in front of Rollins and he sweat all over me and the two dudes next to me. Unforgettable show.
Toka Reva
He took me and my friend backstage for that. Just thinking back ,must have been like 1988 a weekday I recall. Amazing!
I am 49 years old and this song hits me the same way since I was 20.
Yummy 🤮

Which song? This is an entire album.
It was *the best time* for shows...CB, Wetlands, City Gardens in NJ..⚡️⚡️⚡️

Try Laughing Hyenas "Life of Crime" for rock. Morbid Angel's "Domination" for metal.
The Stooges "Raw Power" slides right into that list. "Life of Crime" is a criminally (sorry) over-looked record.
I'll have to check that MA record out.
Indeed,
Just listen to Crossed Out, you wimp.

Blistering album. One of the best hardcore albums of all time.
I'd call this rock and roll..
@rasta3578 I'd say just rock music
Technically it's "Post-Hardcore," produced by Ian Mackaye. At least that's the era, think Fugazi, etc. Wikipedia calls it rock.
Blown away ! What a fucking gem of an album.
imho, best rollins record
Rollins is god. Like all my everything has been dug up an put on display through his music an spoken word. Thanks for making life more understandable when I was younger, I'm glad to know that I wasn't alone. Whoop, Whoop...
Good to see false prophets are still revered.
Rollins at his best. His later stuff just didn't have the rage that the first three discs had.
Craig Stallone I know....I love "Liar, Step Back and Low Self Opinion" so much I have trouble finding anything similar, and its just not the same
yeah.. but Weight and End Of Silence work too, got them noticed also!. Later I bought all his stuff.. :)
His best work
@sabbracadabra its Absolutely healthy, as long as you are releasing it in a positive/construtive way, like art, music or the pit. Just dont hurt yourself or anyone around you. I know its cliché, but its true. 🤘
this album always reminds me that my anger is my motivation
Maximum Rock n Roll at the highest level. Rollins and his Band did great work here.
Best album by the best band/lineup ol' Hank ever had. That includes the Ginn/Dez era imo.
Yep!
Life Time (1987) produced by Ian MacKaye
This! Ugh! So good! My first taste of Rollins in 1992 as a young, impressionable, tyke. :-)
I AM ONE TIME
I AM RIGHT HERE
I AM WHAT'S LEFT
I AM RIGHT HERE!
Chris Haskett's lead in "What am I doing here?" is sublime.
"Turned Out" is the perfect anthem for people who don't know WHO to trust anymore. I guess that's every American in 2017
Everyone in the world in 2020
It is 2024 and the song is even more appropriate for the time.
Hank at his best, one of the best albums ever!
god i love this album!
This had a big effect on me when it came out. 'Gun in Mouth Blues' holy hell what a tune!!
One of the best shows I ever saw with maybe 50 other people. Love this album!
I'm envious. 🤘
You saw this live? Woah. Nice one.
Wow! That must have been amazing. I saw The End of Silence tour at a medium sized club and that was amazing.
Omaha life time attendee
tight and raw, Rollins !
Soundtrack for life
"Life Time" and "Hard Volume" are my go-to Rollins Band albums =) though I do have a soft spot for "The End of Silence" and "Weight"...

There's nothing like finding someone when you're lonely .... Makes you feel sooooo
Henry Rollin s e o cara!! Sou muito fã desse cara!!!
Thanks for the upload, making my work day a lot easier to deal with.
One of Jocko’s favorite albums as a teenager
Saw Henry Rollins in Vegas when driving on a family trip he was filming his show for the discovery channel
So cool I yelled Henry out that window and he waved back
✌️♥️😜
Thnx Nate
All these years I had no idea this album existed
When I copped this vinyl in 1987 I had no idea Thin Lizzy was the musical template. I hear it clearly now.
I see him two times in Budapest ... unforgettable
As much as this album is painful to listen to, due to content not music or lyrics, it is still uplifting.
Awesome
i’m 53 years old and this record make me get all aggro and go ape shit…
'Seen Henry a few times; his voice is is so intense he could perform without a microphone!'
He was a fucking powerhouse!
Saw him in Dallas Texas with the toadies, end of silence tour, Rollins mic was having technical issues, cutting out every few seconds. He threw it down and sang the last few without. Kept telling the crowd to get their money back.
what a belter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

39:25 holy shit dude, amazing album, love it
Having never read anything to this effect I still maintain that the dudes (specially Haskett ) who did the music on this were really into Die Kreuzen/Voivod /King Crimson even .
This album is everything I wish later Black Flag was.
Still kicks ass
Masterpiece
this is where it's at!
Some resonation felt here.
SUN COMES BURNINGG DOOOWWWNNNNN!!!! Lol love this shit, glad I survived
Rollins has become just another talking head, but this album was when he was a true punk poet.
Lana always loves this
Animalistic power!
Gun In Mouth Blues...that´s a really intense fucked up song. Remember hearing this song in my headphones in an office where I worked, sourronded by old farts talking shit about me all the time. It was intense...
This one, hard volume, and then I oddly jump to come in and burn are my three.
When I 1st heard this album/cassette It was early 90s and I realized I had it all wrong with my taste. I’m pretty sure I through a few cassettes out of my car window when I had this revelation
I found Rollins as most through Black Flag, but I have to say...The Rollins band albums are far superior to any variation of Black Flag.
I remain,
Why is this not on Spotify? iTunes? Anywhere downloadable, anyone know?
This is a very awesome thing you did! Thank you! :)
On the subject of Rollins Band- Lifetime (Full Album) ; Could somebody list all of the songs? We'd be plenty grateful.. peace out.

The late eighties, with ads.
This is so Rollins!
White boy blues at its finest
wow, the mix engineer(s) had absolutely no clue
Should be renamed the Weiss Band. Andrew was the driving force of the band that carried them live.
Anyone else hear Pantera influenced by this sound ? Much less Phil shaving his head in early 1990 . This is metal punk Rollins with all the harmonics , I hear Dimebag , wanted to shred on these riffs.
Does anyone have any info for the live set at the end?
Christopher Casas buy the record.
Own it. Doesn't have a live set on mine.
Ha ha this album is like pure rage
Henry Rolling is a former Navy SEAL
Working out
Henry looks like a singer but sounds like grated glass

Great lyrics. His best album by far. Was so sad the way he sold out.
Meh. I dont think I'd say he sold out. I would say the mainstream found him, not the other way around. I really wouldn't say he sold out.

Rollins' rhetorical rage seems a little dated now, but the band is white hot
