wow that's a beautiful one seems very stable and sturdy.
Thanks a lot. Really glad you like it😊
This is a really awesome idea. Really. Thanks for the killer idea.
KOMPLEMENT Pull-out shoe shelf. 39 3/8x22 7/8". Currently $35.
Finally a tray idea that appears will fit the 36" gaming pads on each of my desks. Now to find out weight limits and if it is paintable. Thanks x2.
Did you find out the weight limits?
@@madeleinee-c6363 if you used a big wide thread wood screws, you don't have to worry. Even 5kg it will support.
What an amazing IKEA hack! Thank you Rawland. I will be at IKEA first thing tomorrow morning to buy one :D You are a genius!
@loiphin, thanks a lot for your compliments. I have another creative Ikea hack on the way. Hope you'd like it too.
Creative hack! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. 'glad you like it.
Went 45 min to ikea today so I can finally build a desk for my studio. Got the wrong tray 😫. Even after watching your vid. Guess I’ll be back tomorrow
@BiggsLord OnaBeat, sad to know that. Hopefully you will get the same one immediately and safely.
Watching this with great interest would you happen to have a link for the product. I do appreciate it's an old video. Thank you in advance.
@bob keys, thanks a lot for reaching out. Please find this link: www.ikea.com/jo/en/p/komplement-pull-out-shoe-shelf-white-00257463/
this is perfect for the setup im trying to do! much appreciated! Thanks.
Great idea! May I ask the type of the wood screws used to attach the trey to the desk? Thank you!
@Danny Will, thanks for asking. Any wood screws with enough length, fit to the hole of the bracket, with big and deep thread will do.
hows it holding up with that 4 bolts tho ...?
You just need to choose a good wood screw with a wide deep thread.
How did you attach the hangers to the metal part of the sliding drawer? The screw that came with it don’t let them attach to each other
Before you attach the cover, open slide until you see the screw hole.
@@RawlandUy How did you access the hole near the front? Seem impossible to reach without disassembling the metal slider, it won't slide that far...Thanks for the reply!
@@UriSala you don't need to disassemble the slider. You just need to slide until you see the hole on the other side of the slider for you to be able to put the screw to attached the bracket.
Do you have a measurement between the desk and the tray? How far do the brackets drop the tray? I have a metal bar on my ikea desk about 8 inches back from the front of the desk. Thank you. This looks really good. I love it
It depends on your underdesk. It it's plain without any structure like just flat, then you just need to measure all devices to fit on the space between the desk and the tray. If there are some braces under your desk then you just need to adjust accordingly
Can I ask what size wood screws you used to attach the tray to the underside of the desk? I need to go to a hardware store to pick some up and don't know what diameter/length is best. Thanks for this idea!
I forgot the size already but it depends on the thickness of your desk and the hole on the bracket. The deep threads wood screws the better.
great ideas ! thank you for making this video, btw what brand is the sound bar on your desk?
@Roy Loi, thanks a lot. It's LG LAS464B.
Brother what's the height of tray from floor?
It will be depending on your preference. You desk might be different than mine. My desk has a thick steel bar across the 2 legs the reason why I need to make the shelf lower.
@@RawlandUy okay
How deep or low is the tray? I'm afraid my legs Wil sit against it since my desk ist very high and I down want to sit too low under my desk, got about 10-13 cm of space between my legs and the desk.
It depends on your desk. Especially if your desk has a bracket across, you need to find a way not to block anything when sliding.
fantastic !!!
Thanks a lot!
i just bought the same thing but i have to ask what screws did you use to hold the screw the drawer to the table?
@Daniel Jose, thanks for asking. Any strong wood screw will do with the same size of the hole of the bracket. But I strongly recommend those wood screws with big and deep threads to strongly hold in contact.
Hi there, thanks for the video. Is this tray stable for heavy typing? It seemed to move a bit when you used the mouse. No noise because it is all metal and light-weight?
Hi. Thanks. There is no sound at all not to mention the sound of the keys on the keyboard. About the movement, I dont have any issue even from the mouse.
@vercyd, its not light but not so heavy. For me its just right. Its so sturdy. Including the locking mechanism from the rubber. As the usual drawers when you open and close.
Clean setup! Unfortunately the item is not available in Qatar.
@Robert Luigi Fernandez, It's available in Ikea Qatar website.
link for the product???
will this hold the weight of your arms? looks weak
Finally a tray wide enough for my needs, However the next question is how deep is the flat part?
Thanks. Please let me know. Do you mean the distance from under the tabletop until the tray?
@@RawlandUy Nope, I want to know if my 13" wide 11" long mouse pad will sit flush or hang off the back/front of the tray. It would also be cool to know how far down the tray hangs from the desk so I can tell if my chair armrests fit underneath it.
There are actually 3 sizes of ikea komplement shoe shelf. The one I used was 100cm x 58cm. Since I sold the desk already I'm not so sure how deep is the distance of the tabletop now to the shelf. But I would estimate its not less than 3 inches. And you can still modify it by adding some washers or if you have a custom made bracket.
How far in is the first screw?
@A-Town, thanks a lot for asking. Please let me know which screw and from where to where.
Can you link the one you're using? I'm having some trouble finding the correct one.
@AlekD, Thanks, please find the white color version below.

@AlekD, just depend on your region.
@@RawlandUy I found it. Thanks for the video dude. Seems a lot better and cheaper than the other alternatives there are.
@AlekD, Thanks to you also for liking my video. Please let me know anytime.
what is the name of that adapter
It's the Xim4.
What will be depth of the tray. Can we use for a vertical mouse ?
@Venkat Yellajyosula, thanks for asking. You can always have a way to adjust it. I did it on mine actually by adding some washers.
@@RawlandUy Thanks Rawland ..yeah washers would be pretty good idea.
@@vyellajyosula you're most welcome. But thanks to you for stopping by on my video. 'Really appreciate.
Awesome idea what are the dimensions of just the portion you used
Thinking of using this for my ddj sz
@@HexXxNation but your expensive mixer deserve to be mounted on a better and more sturdy setup. I would not recommend this. But you can do better than this. Better Screws, better brackets, and better tray/shelf.
Its mostly just for storage if I use it i will most likely put it on the table top
Do you know the width
@@HexXxNation Yap, its better.
Where can i buy this?
Thanks a lot for asking. In Ikea. It's called Kompliment. It's basically a shoe drawer.
cans someone help me?? if i screw in the hangers that attatch it to the desk they are locked into the sliders?? can someone pleaaaase help
Please let me know what do you mean by locked. How is it locked.
@@RawlandUy it just makes no sense. how have you screwed in the outer screw to the 4 white supports?? im starting to go insane
@@milkyywaey6230 you just need to slide until both holes met then put the screw. There is a hole on the slider to this.
How did you attack the hanging brackets to the sliding rails? Because I didn't get screws that fit in there. :(
Thanks for asking. There is screws comes with it. The only screw I add is the wood screws I used to attached under my desk.
@@RawlandUy Got it man! it's perfect :)
@@WorstViktorEU Great!!
@@rosar.4293 the screws that come with the ikea product!
Can't seem to find the link for this on the US site...
@A-Town, thanks again for asking. Yes, you might need to jump into another. It's not available or yet in Ikea US.
Searching for the product number (002.574.63) helped me find it on US Ikea site: www.ikea.com/us/en/p/komplement-pull-out-shoe-shelf-white-00257463/
@@marmarsoo Thanks for direct link, so glad it comes in a dark grey color also, never been a fan of white appliances or electronic.
im just gonna wreck all my shit before i win a game of call of duty
You can do it.
I still can't for the life of me undertand why people put music in the background when speaking...in a tutorial of all things...
Thanks a lot. To be honest this is one thing I need to change for future videos. But anyway, this is just one of my first videos. 'Appreciate your comment.
@@RawlandUy my question was respectfully looking for an answer..
If you are new to this.. It makes sense to me.. (not that I know what works as a content creator.. Cuz I'm a content consumer)
But as a new content creator.. Why did you choose to add music while you were talking?
I listen to Joe Rogan.. Very big on RUclips.. No music while talking.. And no bleeps either..
@@jorgecarrejo7562 Thanks again. Before I started to make videos, I was also watching lots of RUclips contents and thinking it was cool to add background music. But the problem came when I'm already doing it, is when it comes to editing. I don't know how to set the volume of both yet. But now I know.
@@RawlandUy I wish you luck.. Although if I was to get into that business.. I would reach out to those in a similar type of business that have a shit ton of followers... And ask them... Again.. Good luck and thanks for the conversation
@@jorgecarrejo7562 but because of budget constraints also, I cannot buy all those devices/items to make a good sound yet. And of course most important is, "confidence" when talking.
All you did was buy something from IKEA... that's not a DIY..
He turned a thing from its original purpose into another thing serving a different purpose. That is DIY. DIY isn’t always construction papers and glue.
