i know it might be boring to some people but i’d really love to see more cable management stuff. not every product hits but when one does i feel like it makes a huge difference!
QUICK TIP: If you don't want to spend 30 dollars on a cable box just use a shoe box and cut 2 holes on either side. I use a old vans box and it looks good and I can fit my 6 plug power cable inside for all my wires
For some reason I have a pronounced aversion against the "on top of your monitor"-storage. All the other items I find pretty decent and helpful, but I could never see myself going for that. I'm really considering something like the air duster, something to help me clean via air pressure. Cable management is always brilliant of course.
I know why we do not like that shelf-storage-on-your-monitor thing, everyone know the space between the wall and your screen is a void you can never reach. And that shelf is going to add stuff in that void easily.
@@v1d300 Perhaps that's it. I also don't particularly like mounting stuff to my monitor and especially not having it in my field of view while doing stuff. And I believe that would always be the case if I mounted it on a monitor which top I could reach at an arms length.
My guy I have two rabbits and when I'm playing games I like to let them hang out with me. They always go for the cables, I had to pick them up and put all the cables on top to stop them from biting them. That box is going to be a life saver, thank you
That lint roller advice is golden. I kept my mousepad clean (it still looks like it is new) because of it. I also use an arm sleeve while gaming to prevent body hair/dust from falling on it.
The magnetic mount for the screen is geniuous. I use my old iPhone as a webcam and so far i've been using a janky flexible tripod on top of monitor solution, but having the phone mounted on the side of my monitor would do wonders!
These hacks are only cheap up until somebody prolific like randomfrankp posts a video about them. Then, they're either not cheap anymore or sold out immediately. Being in Canada, most of these were never cheap in the first place due to import fees and shipping. 😅 But most of these ideas are good! I usually take his ideas and find other products to accomplish a similar vision. That said, I like the monitor mounting ideas, but I'm clumsy with a small room and tend to bump into my monitors a lot.
I got cats an I use the small microfiber cloth cleaning duster (mostly sold as card interior cleaner) it has dangling microfiber cloth thingy that just captures all the cat hair easily much cheaper than lint roller I believe.
One thing that is an absolute must for clean cable management is a server rack! or cable run way what ever you want to call it. I just finished my cables today and damn its clean! don't forget a surge protector to connect everything to and have only one visible cable exposed! Even if you don't have a sit-stand desk, it helps to watch videos on those to perfect a regular set up imo.
A really good use for the magnetic monitor mount would be in tandem with that little stat screen you had in a video not too long ago, after I saw that in your video I got one myself and atm I'm using it with the official Nintendo adjustable charging stand which helps hide the cable a little (I can tweet a picture at you as it's pretty damn clean) but I think being able to strap it to the side of your monitor using that monitor mount and say a right angle usb-c plug to help make it look even cleaner is an awesome idea and I'll have to look into it myself
So frank, I'm glad you brought up the charger, because I found an amazing usecase for it, and with that, another step towards finally creating the setup I'd love to see on your channel. But here's the thing right? A wireless split ergo board, kept always charged using one of those pads and a qi charging adapter for usb-c.
i have been using a lint roller for years served my pads really well it's a must if you play a lot of fps and don't wanna change your pad every six months
That new magnetic mount, the new iOS feature that turns the iPhone into a webcam (with the ability to look down and show your keyboard in a second view at the same time)is a major game-changer.

as soon as you pulled the lint roller out i knew immediately! known this trick for about 8 years now and it never disappoints it picks literally everything up
I don't comment at all but I would like to thank you for the extra quality of life for my wife and I setup, I just cop the last two items in your showcase cause it would really help clean things up.
Hey frank, Awesome video I may see if any of these products are available here in the UK. One small note, the link you provided fr the cable managament box is going to a childrens pencil case instead.
That magnetic phone holder can be used for MacBooks with the iPhone’s continuity camera (will be put with iOS 16 and Mac OS Ventura very soon). That would save you from needing a webcam or camera for streaming. I was just looking for something like this.
Get an air purifier with a charcoal filter! It makes you healthier, reduces dust that gets on your desk and in your pc, less sneezing. So many benefits.
I use a Razer Firefly mousepad - the hard side. It wipes clean with a damp cloth. A blower is only good for cleaning things outside, you should use a vacuum inside otherwise you're just blowing the dust and crap all around your room.
Note to others that may not know(no need to comment “I already know this”) if you use air duster or air blower like in video hold your fan blades when blowing them out. If you are blowing the dust off fans and let the fan blades spin they can ark and short your hardware
The lint roller is a cool idea, but I don’t feel comfortabele using something so sticky on my mousepad, I feel like that would just make things worse. And before someone says, they’re not supposed to be sticky. There’s always this one bit of foil in every roll that leaves sticky goo.
Been doing this for years and never had a single issue but also remember to wash your desks mats you can throw most in the washer and air dry them afterwards and the come out amazing.
Some type of brands have super sticky ones and I’ve had it happen once or twice that my clothes got sticky. And I fucking hate sticky. Washmachine is what I use, little bit of soap + rinse program then I let it dry for two days.
Those power cable management boxes ….. you need to be careful as for normal plugs their ok’ish …….. however, do NOT put power adapters inside them as the heat can build up and can cause serious safety issues !!!🔥🔥🔥
to add on, never plug a power strip into another power strip. it’s called daisy chaining and causes electrical fires.
