- Awesome Crosswind Landings !! Have a look at the marks on the runway. The Air China and Turkis Airlines Airbus A330` s left a clear mark on the runway. They burned some rubber while impacting on runway 05L.
Once again I was able to film some crosswind landings at Düsseldorf. This video isn` t as good as my previous crosswind landing videos but I decided to show you these amazing piloting skills. There was no storm this time, it was "just" a windy day and as you can see these pilots had to fight with wind speeds up to 30 knots. Especially both A330s of Turkish Airlines and Air China left a mark on the runway which can be seen during the entire video. Three weeks later when I came back to this position to film a Boeing 747 it was very easy for me to identify the Air China and TK A330 marks on the runway. As usual I hope you like it and please don` t forget to rate.
Best crosswind landings video I've seen so far on youtube. Thank you
Best Bad Crosswind Landings. Dam...
This is one of the most satisfying youtube videos I've ever watched
In my opinion 6:54 best landing and 0:16 worst landing. Enjoyed every second of this video.
Wow great captures, really shows the skills to get some of these planes down!
Just made my day...Skidding planes sideways at 140kts( I think) I am just amazed at how much punishment the gear takes and some serious skill involved in getting down safe in these winds. Thanks!!
"This video isn` t as good as my previous crosswind landing videos but" don't agree: this is one is the best in my opinion! Thanks for sharing
5 stars for the pilots. awesome job, guys.
Some pretty hard landings there - great video! :)
Loved every single moment of it!
Absolutely amazing video! I can't believe some of the pilots managed to put the nose gear on the center of the runway.
Aircraft landings are like snowflakes - each one is different, and beautiful. Could watch this video for hours - nice work!! Something hypnotic and relaxing, watching each plane do it's own thing.
Personally I love the crabbing after touch down... "Whoa big fella, whoa!!!"
One of the best aviation videos i've ever seen!!
The Fokker at 6:55 is one off the few who actually had the proper technique and it paid off. He rolled it on with little to no side load.. Some of the others were just horid, zero flare or rudder correction.
Ive noticed how calm you pilots are with landing and take offs.
Fantastic! I could watch this all day long! The KLM F70 took the crown IMHO. Interesting to see how many aircraft arrive at the downind side of the centerline.
The best crosswind video I've seen so far, thank you, very nice.
very nice video, as usual showing the difference between experienced pilots and other ....
lovely shots, that high zoom is perfect.
3:24 Lufthansa pilot's did a great job there!!! That was the best landing in the video!!!
no way schultz..they slammed it..
It's a crosswind landing. They landed on the runway. Firmly on the runway, downwind gear touches first. To be honest, all of these landing are very good; so I stand corrected for only noting Lufthansa.
I'm a pilot, you're a passenger. What do you know? Nothing.
it takes serious skills to land a plane with that wind. some bumpy landings though, but it's understandable. thanks for sharing!
Excellent video. One of the best landing ones on you tube.
Thanks
Thankyou very very much, for charing these MAGNIFICENT VIDEOS !!!! KEEP the good work. From Portugal, i salut you !!!
Clear and steady view, free of any music, great action captured. Awesome video!
Thanks for sharing.
I love this video !!
A little too long but the colors with the sun and the runway are beautiful ;)
Well done
There's some rubber on that runway! Great stuff, thanks.
the runway really get a huge slam , look at those a/c elevator , it's shake really hard :)) most hard-landing i've ever seen :D
Ya'gotta love these guys, these pilots look'n out the right side cockpit window while landing, like trying to park your car in the garage while in a left skid looking out the right side passenger window... And to those who give derogatory statements about these landings you can't see wind It's unpredictable, unless your in the cockpit with hands and feet on the controls you can not know whats going on.
Some of the biggest shear loads on the structure are taxiing and this type of landing. The wheels have no trunnions or differentials, so when they contact at an angle to the tarmac while the aircraft momentum carries forward, a shear load can be reacted through the wing/fuselage joint structure.
Good record. Thanks for sharing.
lots of people went to the bathroom that day... ballooning like crazy Lol great video mate,, keep them coming!!
Nice vid. its very interesting to see how some pilots are just dumping there aircraft on the runway and others are flying them onto the runway.
I N C R E D I B L E !
I agree, this is an excellent video. It seems to me though that the clips are a bit fast-forward? Personally I prefer seeing the landings at 100% natural speed :)
Your Crosswind videos are amazing! Awesome video!
Yet another top production! Many thanks for sharing :)
Thanks, I enjoyed so much this great moments!
Sehr beeindruckend!Daumen hoch!
Another piece of amazing footage from you. Good you decided to share with us.
Really enjoyed it. Thanks
Awesome video! Those marks really stood out!
1:28 was a hard landing- yikes. 3:10 was smooth.
That was awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Interesting to see which airlines/pilots don't care about the center line! Whatever people think of LH/LX, but you can easily see the difference. Of course, wind conditions differ, aircraft behaviour is different but nonetheless...
Awesome video! Great action from the pilots!
Thank you for your unique videos!!!
I love the way China touched down:)
2:22 Great!
Ah sorry, it was just a feeling I had, the way the planes and smoke moved, but I wasn't sure. In that case I'll watch it again and enjoy it even more!
The Lufthansa pilots seem to have the best technique. I don't know why everyone else was de-crabbing after touchdown, it puts alot of stress on the landing gear doing it that way.
Top Banana!
very very nice movie and technique of the pilots!
Congratulations also to the extraordinary pilots who manage to take so many lives experience successfully ground. my preguta is so strong these landings so no damaging affect on and go landing gear so abrupt fall to earth like the rubbers?
Very nice footage! Love your videos!
Out of all the landings, the ground vehicle had the least gear side-loading. ;-)
Seriously, I thought only jumbos have pivoting mains that can allow landing in a crab.
I was taught to transition from a crab to a slip with a low upwind wing to get the nose pointed down the centerline and flare on one main if you have to but don't put the mains down if you're not aligned as the side loading can collapse the gear.
Those are sum hard landings
Thank for the vid
Sorry to see so many Sideways Slams-and only a few nice ones. So many are Sideways Slams. Many Thanks to uploader.
Best Landing Exercise a pilot can do are "The max crosswind touch and goes". MX Touch and Goes. In the 1970's if you could not do Max Xwind touch and goes, you were a poser, not a real pilot. Was Aerobatic CFI and Spray Pilot for 3 decades.
I am surprised by how many a/c appeared to fly their stable crab straight to touchdown, with little control sfc inputs after touch to straighten out. That's not what we're being taught in primary GA training: before touch, you bring the a/c parallel to runway with rudder, and bank into the wind as needed to align with the centerline, touch upwind wheel first (if x-wind is strong enough), start rolling in _more_ aileron into the wind as you slow down to counter sideways drift & keep using rudder.
Awesome landings.!
AMAAAAAZZZZIIINNNGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! DARE U MISS !!!
Amazing video!! LIKED!!
чувак, ты просто супер! искренне завидую белой завистью! молодца! +)
Epic man, amazing filming
I have a new RUclips name suggestion for you: X-Wind-Spotter! :P Nice video again, cheers!
Great Video.The best by far.
I'm glad I found your channel ;)
Great video my friend!
2:00 was one of the best landings
Very nice catches, great views. :-)
Awesome as always!
That's where huge rubber deposits are coming from!
Perfect video,as all the rest said,I really enjoyed it!!!!keep the good work
nice videos man keep up the good work
Love your videos. I'd really like to go there myself one day but there aren't any direct flights from the Highlands. I think Germanwings fly from Edinburgh though.
excellent videos overall,, nice job man
Fantastic video!
I can watch these all day, weird lol
Air france a320 was also good landing there was some good and descent but good job
it's windy there :P how often is that?
I think this is the video about crosswind landing with the best quality here on youtube. i absolutely enjoyed it. :)
What did you use to produce such a high focal length AND such a good quality? I think 600mm are not enough for this and your other videos.
AlpineDiary You are right. I used a Canon 5DMarkiii + Canon 100-400 + Canon 2x Extender + Canon 1,5x Extender which led to a focal distance of 1200mm
This is SOOO awesome, my friend!
I always wonder how you are doing that.
Especially the focusing. Do you always renew the focus during one scene?
Or do you use such a high aperture like f50 to get a high depth of sharpness?
I watch it over and over again, because it is AMAZING...! :)
***** b
. hola
Excellent!
Wow, cooles Video. Man könnte es auch crosswind-hoppeln nennen :) Wann hast du das aufgenommen?
Nice video. You can call it crosswind-jumping :). When did you record it?
video amazing congratulations friend
Well done. Nice video.
Amazing shots!!!!! This video is awesome!!! I would give it 100 likes if I could. You should do more videos like this one!!
Thanks for your vids!
What he said. AWESOME video. So what was up with the plane at 7:00? The tail was open. I assume that's for slowing down but I've never seen a plane do that before. If that's not normal then I was wondering if that was why the car was chasing after it.
Man those pilots got skill!! Great vid as always!
Great video!
Cool!!! Great video!!!
Wow! Does anyone notice on the first landing you can see the tire marks from that A330???
good fotage thanks for sharing
Off course! the tyres do need a replacement before the next take off....
for sure.
Im 53 years old and i just recently have found that this is common to land a plane sideways. To me this is incredible. You pilots have an enormous amount of responsibility to do this everyday. A few people i have shown them they , like me are consumed with watching these videos. My hats off to all of you pilots. But im sorry i could never fly again. Maybe i dont know enough about this but what keeps that plane from flipping or just as 50' off the ground no air under the wing and a down force that slams plane into the runway? Im a seasonal wildland firefighter and i mine gold under ground. The risks i take havent a god damn thing on what you pilots do. And love doing it? No passanger has any right to complain about a flight. You pilots are crazier than 20 motha fuckers.
First decrab at 03:15, thank you SAS!
To be honest, every landing of Lufthansa is standard.厉害
Klasse Aufnahmen !
Good job man
you are the best.
Ooooh. What is the reason of one vehicle is running just behind of plane is landing at 7.05. Because of birds or for what else?
The video work here is fantastic. However, if you own your own aircraft (or you are an A&P), and you have to pay the bill to replace tires, torque linkage bushings, shims, braces, and bolts on complex retractable gear, you cringe at the sight of these landings. This footage reveals some pretty poor effort on the part of commercial pilots. I see very little skill or grace in a lot of these landings. The best pilots use cross-control techniques to safely horizontally align the airplane with the centerline to eliminate potentially dangerous and damaging side-loading. When done properly it is a thing of beauty! These pilots are basically just flying in a crab right into the ground (not all, but most). Some of them don't even try to flare! Nothing impressive about that. Are airline pilots trained to do that on purpose? It seems crazy to me.
Automation Dependent Pilots. I have seen Airline Pilots that haven't flown non automatic devices airplanes in a few months doing crappy landings on non landing devises small planes. , specially on crosswind landings. Damages a lot.
What a shame. No wonder airlines spend so much on tires and maintenance. Then they want us taxpayers to pay for all these crappy landings too by asking for bailouts for the damages produced by bad pilots too.
I love the rubber on the runway
woooow heavy.... grear
