Do people prefer the commercial planes, or are the smaller aircraft the best way to fly? Let us know!
Smaller for a noob like me!
Commercial
Commercial
Commercial all day.
I'm liking the smaller ones right now. Teaching me the basics before I move up to commercial airliners.
11 year old here flying an a320 neo here, it’s really good to fly and this tutorial helped me improve my taxi and startups.
You should stick with it. I didn't and I regret it.
Omg Same! 😂
SAME
Solid bloody tutorial for a 40 year old newb.... Last flight simulator I played on was the first one with just lines and no scenery haha,,, this has helped me enjoy this new game for me so much... Thankyou
Glad you’re enjoying it!
Same buddy. I’m 44 and finally have a good enough rig to run this. Haven’t been on a sim in over 20 years. This is amazing
Ditto to all these comments. Never had an Xbox before but figured it was best to run this resource hungry sIm. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this.
Are you still enjoying? Bought the Xbox X just for this game. Been playing for a month or so. Getting good with the 320 neo. Cheers!!
Any recommendations for aftermarket commercial aircraft?
A complete newbie, brought a XBOX and trust master Captain set up, watched your videos and now hooked. Not only do you explain very well, but the way you present and your voice is very easy on the ear, that you remember easy, well I do. Would love to see more of this type of video and maybe explaining other areas of the sim. Thank you very much and I have now SUBSCRIBED with pleasure.
I have MSFS 2020 on XBox Series X for almost a year now. Never flew a an Airbus/ Passenger Plane. Today might just be the day. Thank you for this video.
Best tutorial on RUclips absolutely nothing even comes close to how in depth this tutorial is thank you so much
This is exactly the kind of tutorial I’ve been looking for. Well done and easy to understand. Subscribed
I play also on Xbox, but it don't work. When you said that the auto pilot should puse the plane back, my plane does not do that?
Do you know why?
At last, someone dedicating a msfs tutorial for XBOX players. Thank you❗️🙏
Wow, mate! I've just started enjoying MFS2020, and your videos are a helluva' lotta' help in different details! From this one, for example, I learnt about auto-throttle! I mean it, they are much more educative, than other guides on RUclips. Hats off to you!
Your series of three videos relating to the A320 from startup to ILS landing are absolutely brilliant. Your narration is clear and concise and is done at such a speed it is easily followed and understood. Thank you for giving your time any more tuition videos relating to the A 320 would be very welcome. Your opinion on the new BOEING 737 would be greatly valued and maybe videos of the same level as these of the A320 would be very welcome. Thank you once again.
Thank you for making something so complex easy to follow. Im enjoying flying again !!
Just wanted to say thanks for these tips and guided finally able to fly semi properly now, without markers and way points, figured out how to use the throttle and speed properly and now the auto pilot aswell,. These guides are the most straightforward ones I've seen, now my next step is learning all the controls from a cold start, and perfecting landing, also love the SIM speed thing you showed, I have it on X3 to stop the bouncing thing, but flew from Gibraltar to Gatwick and took the whole flight, I didn't know I could speed it up, so my next flight is going to be Gatwick to either Spain of Gibraltar again, then I mite do a long haul flight from Heathrow to Thailand via Abu Dhabi.
The sim speed is great isn’t it! Really allows you to make the most of the world
Top notch tutorial! Learnt how to actually fly an airbus rather just flying auto routes. This is so helpful mate! Loved the crisp to details you’ve given
I just installed flight sim earlier this week. This is awesome!!!
I followed this exactly but for some reason when I turn on autopilot it won’t go above 5000
I've been playing the PC version for a little while and watched probably hours (granted without paying sustained attention) of tutorials for the A320 and never felt like I properly until now. Excellent, to the point tutorial. Covers all that's needed without stretching it overlong. Very much looking forward to the landing tutorial and the 747 ones. Thanks!
Thanks so much! that means a lot
I installed MSFS 2020 recently due to it being on gamepass and just started to casually fly around in the discovery flights and that was it. I now know how to set up flight plans, take off and land with ILS and I’m currently exploring the world! Thanks to you..
Thank you so much FishStakes
That’s great to hear!
Well done with this excellent tutorial. Thanks a bunch. I managed to create my own A320neo take off checklist from your clear instructions and I am carrying out my tasks so much better now, thanks to you. well done and keep up the great work. Just need to master my landings and create a checklist for that too from your other video tutorial.
You had asked a question; commercial or small a/c preference.
I have mostly been flying the msfs Cessna 172 for a year to get a good feel of flight & flying controls when I want slower speeds and checkout the wonderful sights.
But when I feel naughty I jump into my F18 or MIG29 and joyride like I stole it through cities to cause mayhem.
Last year I flew my 172 eastwards completely around the globe from Belfast to Belfast (UK), it took me three months stopping in over one hundred destinations. One tip I would give. Fly Westbound as Sun constantly in my eyes going easterly direction.
Now that I am learning the Airbus A320neo, I have already started my second around the world voyage (this time Westwards) starting from Belfast City airport, Heathrow and I landed last night in Nantes, France on my way South soon towards near Cadiz. I want to journey from there as close a voyage of Ferdinan Megellan year 1519-1522, first explorers to circumnavigate the globe. should be so much quicker in the A320
might be useful for your adventure
What a tutorial… amazing! Easy to follow and am loving the game now due to you. Is their anyway you could do this exact type of video but for the Boeing 747 at all? Please
Absolutely! We have an ILS Landing video coming out tomorrow as it has been quite heavily requested. But 747 startup is next on the list!
Mate this is a gem of a vid you have created for newbies like me, i've also watched your other vids and those too are top notch. Thank you so much for putting this out. +1 sub
Thank you!
Amazing tutorial.. so much to learn about aviation.. you're a fantastic instructor!
Thank you!
Question - Is there a way to set up FLEX & Climb Throttle inputs with the game pad?
idk why but my plane, as soon as i activate the autopilot banks really hard to the right and goes down in a loop i did everything in the video, and it worked the first time but now nha, any options?
Genuinely such a helpful and clear tutorial, thank you. One small mistake, at 13:00 you say that you want to lift the nose up at V1, but you actually want to do that at Vr. V1 is decision speed
Thank you!
So what does it mean when I follow this tutorial to the letter, and still the plane doesn't pick-up the flight plan, and instead just flies in a big circle while slowing descending? I did everything exactly the same, but as soon as I rotate and set the throttle to climb, raise the flaps and the gear. I hit the AP1 and it banks right and stays that way and just flies in a circle. All the data is clearly in the MCDU, and the flight plan shows on the display panel. So I'm at a complete loss with this one. Any suggestions?
Great presentation...I'm 60+....Recently started.... Clearest description yet...Thank You....Roger...Pembrokeshire...
Im trying to start getting into MSFS this really helped thanks
Thank you for this, I was using CTRL + E to start but thats boring and I wanted to learn the realistic way!
Hey, I love your. videos better than any others regarding to the MSFS very easy to understand. My humble request is can you make a video about the 787 Dreamliner? I would love to learn how to start the plane as well as flight plane and ILS approach. thanks in advance.
I will look at the Dreamliner next
@@FishStakes I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks so much.
I don't mind if it's a small or large plane as long as its waterproof. As the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plane
My airplane randomly turns to tyr right and flies it self into the ground away from the flight path, can someone help me out?
Great tutorial! But I am having trouble with my flight atc keeps telling me to expedite my climb to 26000 ft and the autopilot doesn’t start descending.
Good little video on how to get started. I thought the V1 V2 and rotate where voice controlled. I’ve been flying for around a week now with the A320. My plane sometimes turns a sharp left/right whilst in autopilot. It’s very annoying when your 3 hours into a flight and your place starts messing around. Has anyone else found this bug. Also ATC gives you the wrong bearing when asking for heading to your destination.
I’ve not experienced the auto pilot bug but I do think the ATC needs a lot of work, I fly with it turned off most of the time.
I have noticed that sometimes when you're looking at instruments and activate the left thumbstick to operate the cursor it will also "steer" the plane when moving the thumbstick too. Keep forgetting about it and can have me making all sorts of changes until I let go and autopilot rights itself.
@@DaveWebb as long as you are holding LB your movements won’t affect the yoke. Always remember to keep hold of LB when moving about the cockpit. If you make any accidental movements though autopilot will always fix it
Could you maybe do a tutorial on the A310/300?
After a week of new Xbox SerX and MSFS, I decided to try a full trip w the Airbus. I LOL'ed when I got an achievement for starting it up, I felt like a dumb kid getting a sticker for finally getting an answer right. Now if I can just properly do the MCDU, flight plan, ILS landings and such...then I feel deserving of a dam sticker! Thanks for this vid man, it should make process much easier!
Go get that Sticker!
Thank you very much for this tutorial about the starting, taxi and taking-off of the A320 !
Followed this tutorial to the mark, and all mine did was keep flying in a circle, while slowly losing altitude. Don't know what is wrong, but something clearly is. I've tried everything to get this to work, to no avail.
At the point in which to engage the Auto Pilot.
Here’s a tip, rather than fumbling about to “find” AP1 switch on the panel and turn on Auto Pilot 1 after take off simply tap Y on the controller, works a dream.
I like the realism of hitting the buttons but Y is always my go to when landing
Your tutorial is perfect. Nicely done, clear and concise. But it's a shame that Microsoft couldn't have gotten the autopilot to work. I set the Altitude, then turned on the Flight Director and got takeoff. After setting the throttle to "Climb" after reaching 200knts I set the AP on. Then I noticed that the Altitude that I had set to FL130 I then noticed that I was descending I quickly checked the Altitude and noticed that it had changed to 5000ft. After all these years I thought that they might have fixed the AP in this so-called sim. Now I can't wait to get a new HOTAS and go back flying on Xplane. Still your instruction will help me to transition from the Cessna to Jets like the Airbus.
The way this guy talks he sounds like a pilot talking on the intercom in a delta. He hits every beat of a pilot.
I'll have to give this a go.
I look forward to the results!
Perfect Instructions!!! Thanks a million!
I turned on both batteries and turned on the external power and all my screens are still black. Any ideas?
So I’ve followed all of the steps but I keep getting over speed during this flight when I’m in auto throttle… can anyone think why please?
How do you get the ai co pilot atc on?
The attention to detail in this game is spot on but also makes it quite hard to get to know for a novice like me but this will definitely help me to enjoy flying around the world in this quite awesome game 🎮 😀 👍
Mate. That was so clear and concise. Love the videos!
Thank you so much for this. I’m new to msfs and I want to do realistic flights and this helped so much
Thank you, easy to understand.
Great video! Will help make this game even more enjoyable
How do you get your copilot to do atc for you?
Thank you so much. You don’t know how much this helped me. All this time I couldn’t taxi and the other tutorials were not helping. This one helped though.
Glad it helped!
Amazing explanation, you nailed it, the sim lady doesn't give you all these tips when taking off to prepare you for the sim-world flight!
This was really helpfull, the mcdu has always confused me and while this doesnt fully tell how to make a flight plan, its still very helpfull
We do have a video series on how to make your own flight plan from scratch, both with the mcdu or the in game menu.
Great video just wanted to correct that when doing startup procedures for engines even though this aircraft can support both engines starting it’s recommended to start up engine 2 then engine 1.
Really enjoying your tutorials, is it just a hobby or are you an actual pilot?
I love the commercial planes. Much more of a challenge thanks.
Thanks for the guide! I can now takeoff and fly the a320neo! Just need to learn to land 😂
GREAT video. Thanks a lot, man. Really only hopped in the Airbus to get the startup achievement and the 300nm flight in an airliner but with how clear you made this vid I thoroughly enjoyed the start up procedure and take off. May get into the airliner thing after all! Now I just need to get a mouse instead of using my controller and joystick. Thanks!
It’s more fun that it sounds for sure!
Hi James, this is not a criticism but observation... when you started the main engines you used the engine mode section switch, turning to ign/start.
You fired up eng 1 & 2.
However, you failed to return the engine mode switch to "normal" once the engines stabilised.
Just an observation like I said.
Another great guide!
Excellent tutorial! Loving your flight sim videos. Thanks so much. Subscribed!
Thank you!
The A320 is such an easy aircraft to learn how to fly. Its so simple and you only need to press a few buttons other then planes like the B777.
Spot on, thankyou. Right, onto your next video.
Really helpful video - I wanted to check that MSFS worked pretty much as it does on PC before buying - didn't want a casual game!
Hmm.. how can u set the throttel together? for me i need to select one and move it 0-100 but cant jump top fmx.. (?)
That was perfect! Thanks alot! Can you also make videos to explain the function of each buttons in the aircraft, or on different emergency scenarios (how to handle them) in msfs
Thank you so much for the help! It means alot! Im using this video to currelty fly from Qatar to turkey! Cheers man!
It only sits at 5k feet?
You are the best thank you for all the guides
Great video, although I cannot figure out the push back, it just never seems to happen
Been looking for a msfs tutorial like this, thank you.👍
Thank you soooo much. This can also be labelled as XBOX and PC. Using a PC.
Thanks a lot. I’m a total novice just this tutorial is excellent. When I put the throttle to FLX though at take off, I just veered to the right, so I shamelessly just used the D pad to take off. I must have spent about 2 hours and couldn’t get into the air 🤣
Hi !! 🙂 Please let me know how can zoom in cocpit to look at mcdu and others 😬
gretings👍💪🙂
Great tutorial… you read the mind of a beginner. Can you do one video using xbox with yoke and rudder pedals.
Hi James! I want to thank you so much for this great tutorial!!! Your FS videos are far better the best i found in yt i hope you continue to publish videos like this also about the next fs upgrade hat will release in 2 days for the 40th fs anniversary i will need it.Thx again! Best regards from Italy!
Thanks man, I’ve had a short break but will be back soon with more videos like this!
Thank you so much man ✈️💪
Hey man thanks for your help! it really helped me get to know the airbus flightdeck.
Great video! Thank you! I am trying to learn to play this game and this helps a lot!
thanks James , brilliant tutorial easy to follow
Thank you!
absolutely perfect lad, smashed it
Probably daft question but does anyone know how I get both throttles to move in sync together just using a series x control pad ? I can’t see how to set that up in throttle settings 🤦🏻♂️
Best guide anywhere. Period.
Every word made sense. No filler or useless information.
Can I ask, how are you managing to seamlessly “move” around the cockpit from FMS to upper A/P switches etc?
I either have to use RB and Down to switch “views” and that is buggy as sometimes it won’t go to the next “view” or if I use my mouse it “jumps” around so fast from FMS to Throttle to Light Panel. It’s as though the mouse is over sensitive?
Have you changed something in the settings?
Just hold down LB and you can use the thumb sticks to move about freely. RT and LT will move you up and down 😁
And thank you very much for the praise!
Check out Huddison's RUclips channel. He has a really good video on using and setting up shortcuts on the Xbox that move you around the cockpit. These really are game changers - although they are best executed using a keyboard.
Awesome tutorial video. Thank you.
Thank you sir...I Learn a lot by this video. Need more sir...Please
Thanks for a very well done tutorial. Subscribed.
Thankyou!
This is great! I've learned a lot! Cheers mate.
Glad it helped!
Nice tutorial, I saw it once and I already understood, well explained and easy to understand
Thank you!
Can anyone help me, as a msfs starter? I create a low altitude route in the flight manager correct? Shouldnt this data be in my fmc? I mean how come the airbus doesnt change the speed and the different altitudes in the autopilot mode. I have to do all this, it just follows the line but nothing more is that normal?
this guy is a lifesaver 🙏
Great video I have learnt a lot here thanks.
Any way to turn off AI ATC. I want to only hear my traffic other wise they are telling planes what levels they need to fly non stop and gah it’s annoying. I was hearing AI traffic from Nashville to Memphis the whole time
A320 is certainly more manoeuvrable but I do much prefer the 747 for the longer flights!
Don't think I'll be ready for long flights yet..
Amazing video , Keep makinh those simple tutorials it's very helpful
Thankyou
Thanks mate. Very helpful
thank you i had the best flight iv had
I never knew how easy it is to get this thing going.
Great video!
Where does this help come from in the game, on stuff like this, details
