Hi Lauren, great video! Very informative and thanks to your suggestion of using an electrical tape, I fixed the saddle post creaking. I have exactly the same bike as yours (same color scheme)- mine is size S and I was very disappointed with the creaking issue as well. Canyon customer service was excellent in my case as they shipped a brand new post, clamp and the seal. Replacement parts did not solve the creaking noise but a few wraps of electrical tape around the seat post (thanks to your suggestion!) did and now my bike is absolutely perfect! I put about 400 km since applying the electrical tape and I have not heard a single squeak yet. As far as the power meter, mine is 4iiii so a newer version and I noticed no scratches. For those considering the purchase of this bike, I highly recommend it as for the price, this bike is as close to a pro level as it gets. Rims alone are $3300.00 so the entire package is absolutely worth it. My other bike is a BMC Team machine and although I love my BMC, Canyon is a much better package in my humble opinion. Thanks again, Lauren and keep up a great work! Robert/USA
Thank you so much for this comment Robert! It's really nice to hear that this video has been helpful to you! Enjoy the rides on your non-creaking bike now 😉
Hi There, Great video that you had made on Canyon Aero CF SL 8. I just got mine (Grey-in-grey) about 3 months ago and it's really awesome after few rides.
Just got the canyon aeroad slx with sram rival etap, it was on sale for 4500 euros. The bike is amazing its about 350 grams heavier then the ultegra but i dont really notice the weight difference. Also it looks much cleaner without the external cables and the sram powermeter is extremly accurate. A total steal if you ask me.
@@ciw8688 They have! A new version of the Aeroad is now online where the seatpost bolt is in front of the seatpost instead of behind. I also contacted Canyon and they said I could send my bike to get it fixed.
Thanks, useful points! Did you ride in mountains with the Aeroad, like over big climbs in the Alps? Would be nice to know how it feels with these gears and the bike weight.
Hi, no I did not but I'm planning to maybe do that in the near future! Sadly enough I don't live near mountains so that's why the Aeroad was a better choice than the Ultimate :)
Hi. Can you do the video for the back wheel spinning? I’m really want to listen does they have make noise that feeling. Please. Thank you so much. Waiting for your next video
That’s a really good video! Great job. I hope you don’t take the negative comments personally. People sometimes try to be funny but then do not realize that their culture isn’t the same all over the world. Those of us in the US tend to lose sight of cultural differences. What we think might be funny or light-hearted humor is insulting to those in other countries. I am from the US, but I’ve had the benefit of traveling all over the world. It taught me a lot about how insular we can be. I have two bikes, one with SRAM AXS and the other with Ultegra. I just had to have a wireless cycle…hence the SRAM cycle. But as I ride both, I actually prefer the Ultegra “old school” shifting. I think it ultimately comes down to a personal choice-I do not think it’s a vast difference. If you go tubeless, it will be interesting to hear feedback on that change. I just cannot get myself to make that shift, which I suppose is tied to me know knowing enough about the potential benefits. Cheers!
Thank you for this comment! I don't really take negative comments personally but just wanted to mention them since I know most of them watch these videos anyway haha! And they haven't replied since so that's a good sign I guess ;) I recently tried out DI2 at a Canyon Test Event and I was so surprised with the shifting how smooth it works, it really makes me think that I would love to have DI2! Maybe something for next season! Cheers :) (And about the tubeless, I have recently swapped my tires for the first time since I can't get myself to make the shift either haha. Will be testing it maybe next season too! Step by step!)
Great job with this video. I just released my long term video review of our Tarmac and Scott bikes as well. Happy for you to check them out. I’ll subscribe to you for more news on the Aeroad as well ! Good stuff.
you do realize that if you get Di2 you would probably sell your current ultegra for quite a good amount of money. The difference won't be that much more than the 1000 I can't imagine and you would still have the frame you wanted.
Yes! But selling a used Ultegra groupset won't give me much. Casette, chain, front blades etc are all worth a whole lot less and with some small scratches on the shifters/derailleurs it loses it's value quite fast
i dont have the money to buy cfslx with di2 but i can afford cfsl. Do you think i should get aeroad cfsl 8.0 for my second bike? i do super long ride on a trek hardtail currently and looking to upgrade for my final bike.
Great post and review of your Canyon! Do you feel that Canyon’s online fit guide is accurate? I’m in the process of purchasing my first Canyon and wanted to gain some insight about their online fit guide.
How do you combine the costs of college and having a bike like this? I am currently in my first year of university and started cycling. I began with a used road bike of my dad but now it's time to upgrade and get my own.I just don't think i'm capable to spend a whole fortune on a new road bike. Maybe you can help me a bit with your experience? I first thought of buying a shimano 105 Aluminium bike, but I would really like to use this bike for approx 5 years and so I thought I would need a higher speced (and priced) bike so I won't have any issues (or as little as possible) in the upcoming years. As I'm currently training for a 70.3 Ironman and would like to do some amateur races in the beginning of 2024, I'm tending to buy the Aeroad but it's damn expensive :/
Hahaha ben inderdaad Nederlands! Mijn triatlonkanaal heet "Loran".

Great video! I like to buy the same bike but I am having difficulty selecting the right size as I am in between S/M; I am 177/84. When I make a slight change to my height or inseam, it then suggests M. What would you recommend?

Great Vid, very nice Aeroad. I am also thinking of buying a gravel bike in a few years after I graduate to make some trips 😍 I do love the Aeroad and also on longer rides! I think it depends on how flexible you are!

Dear Canyon riders, I really want to buy this gem, but unfortunately I am between sizes M/L. I am 183/89cm, which by canyon size calculator gives M, but when I put inseam 90 it shows L. Do you guys have similar problem of choosing the right size? :( Any advice is truly welcome.

Nope
