Rory is one of the best motor journalists. Top Gear really down played him. Auto trader really gave him the platform to be himself 100%. He is literally the reason I watch it. 🔥🔥🔥👌 Especially that SVJ video you'll go wild just watching him.

The RS6 is a beast! I owned a C7 for 6 years and loved it….An amazing daily. I’ve never felt the need to drift it though👀….at over two tons playing like that will only end in one way!
I actually prefer the C7 performance RS6 over this newer one both inside out. Outdated tech? Just flip the screen with a press of a button and its timeless!
I also currently own a c7.5 RS7 perf and a rsq8 and the c7.5 is way more playful and engaging compared to the rsq8. You can definitely get the c7.5s to powerslide though, just takes some skill

@@CantDcdeGoodNamsTakn I have one as well C7 performance - carbon ceramics - special paint. Just met a retired car guy with Ferrari 308, Lancia delta HF, Triumph stag, old M3 and TR6. When he heard I had the RS6 - he said keep it - future classic. I will.....

As a current RS6 owner, I will say this: it has been the best freaking experience ever with a daily car. I have nothing wrong to say. Honestly, I just wish stock it was louder but all cars are silenced nowadays. This is just the perfect daily driver. Very very hard to beat in terms of overall practicality knowing the fact that its a monster under the hood.
Do you have the stock air suspension or the DRC. I'm ordering an RS6 performance and not sure which way to go.

I came straight to this video from Carwow's RS7 Performance review. I then got split between choosing to buy this RS6 & RS7. Quite a difficult decision to make. I was then reminded by my bank account that I don't afford any of these cars.
Am a BMW fan & I just want to thank Audi for "pushing" BMW to make performance estates.nice car if I must say so.
Can’t sit to see the return of the M5 Touring
This is what the standard RS6 should’ve been, it came out in 2020 and was already slower than the then 3 years old 2017 W213 E63 and then the 2/1 year old M5 - but beyond performance it’s still the one I’d love and still my dream car, seen a few on the road and the looks and the presence is unmatched.

You're actually incorrect. We don't know how the regular RS6 would do against a regular E63 and M5. The RS6 has only gone up against the E63s and M5 Comp, which are not the standard versions. Now it's gonna be fair. RS6 perf vs M5 Comp vs E63s.

Someone has to be the slowest. This is the frustrating thing about a lot of car guys today. Stop comparing to be the fastest car, no one is tracking these cars often. The m5, e63 and rs6/7 all have around the same hp. It doesnt matter if one does 1/10th of a second faster in the 1/4. Someone has to win and Someone has to lose. Audi is made for the most comfortable daily driver

Never really ‘got’ Rory as a Top Gear presenter. Loved his pieces, but felt he was somewhat stymied by the big characters at that time. Give him his own platform, and my goodness, what a guy! Blooming love all his content, and well done AutoTrader for giving him that 😀

From a driver's point of view that doesn't go on a racetrack, when you say that it is not a playful car it would be a dream to own something like that. Maybe Audi should make the RS models extremely race track orientated though.
I think Audi is smart to keep their niche of road-focused performance cars. Plenty of track-focused cars, of which most buyers just use on public roads.

How about the on the coil springs which should have shaper handling... air ride is more for cruising and gran touring

I don’t know why, there are certain car reviews I love to see Rory reviews on and this is one of them😂 I saw other channels do reviews on this car and didn’t click. Then there are some cars I do not like to hear Rory perspective on kinda weird 😂

Audi is so benevolent they're letting you choose from a palette of six different primer greys.
Any color is available. Special order and a 10k option.
Rather than boring red, black or silver
Removing isolation is a nice trick. Makes upgrading and loud exhaust installation a bit pointless. Also includes natural sound and that us what people want. If you want quiet get the TSI 40 or 50, plenty of power .
I've heard there is a Competition variant of the RS6/7 coming later in 2023, with added power opposed to the performance model and a more aggressive suspension setup

I expect it would probably handle better if it didn't have such low profile tyres. A bit more height in the tyre and they could have set the suspension to suit

I'm sorry I never understood why journalists think it's a major buying criteria for a car to drift or "lose the tail" in corners! 99.9999% of buyers will never do that and they won't care because 1. this isn't a track car and 2. the don't have access to places where they can do that!! Stop adding that to a family car's advantages!
My car has only 200 hp, it is a saloon from segment D and from time to time I like to "loose the tail" on the corners, or on the snow, of course when streets are empty. Hell, I even took it to the track to test it's limits.
We don't get the BMW in Canada.... Would you take this or a Panamera Sport Tourismo?

5:45 - States that it comes with the option of CCBs. It actually does NOT. I have submitted my build with the assumption that they would be standard on the "performance" model. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

who else noticed the brake disc? why are the drilled slots going towards the front side of the car? I thought they're normally meant to point towards the back of the car??

So... This is basically an ECU tune and an extra word to the badge?
This is just a way to hide the increasing price. It's 7000€ on the base price on top of the now discontinued OG Model. So 5% more Money for 5% more power. But knowing Audi, it is quite possible they increased the pricing on the extras too, so you get less in the end.
it's actually the facelift for the RS6, as it replaces the model that came out in 2020.
Great video Rory. Looks like Audi have finally sorted out the RS6, good for them. Re the lack of 'drifting/playfullness - almost all owners will only EVER push these cars either for a few seconds on a motorway slip road or on the autobahn. I worked at a race circuit for 2 years and cannot remember a single owner in an expensive, non-race prepped saloon car/estate bringing one to a track day (although we did have a solicitor who brought his wife's BMW Z4 and wrapped it around a barrier. He hadn't told her where he was going with it either..).

As a german car lover I have always wanted the rs6 in later life..well it's nearly that time and after the launch of the M3 touring I'm swaying that way now.interior better and faster and cheaper...a real shame for Audi since BMW upped the game
I live on a country lane in a 20 zone where I'm pretty sure white van man and school run mum are regularly reaching 186mph.....
School run mum’s second fastest in England after white van man but in first at sticking the middle finger up while causing crashes around them 😂

It seems like with the latest RS6 and other recent RS models, the fun has gone. They are highly desirable as daily-usage cars but the sense I get from the review is that this is another extremely competent but aloof fast Audi. As he concludes, there are more fun options out there, such as the M3 Touring, if you want something more exciting. I am not talking about taking your £100k exec estate to the track, but just when you find an entertaining back road on the way home, for example, a bit more feel and excitement puts a grin on your face, not just a slight smile of "ah, here we are, back home" on your face.
The only downside of the M3 Touring is it’s awful looks

I'm disappointed that Audi still prefers to be an understeer machine. When will they compete with BMW and Merc in the dynamic handling department? Such a shame for such a good looking car.

Why have Audi deleted the carbon brakes option. One reason i won't be replacing my current RS6 C8
This is the car the RS6 should have been from day 1 - but fear not a more formidable version is due 2024 as well
This will be discontinued and replaced with electric. Don't expect any more CE RS6s
You are correct when the new model is introduced but before then Audi have confirmed one more iteration of this bad boy but more extreme

@@tristanmayor6302 if it’s not your thing it’s not your thing but it’s a bit of a niche car, owners love them and tend to keep them for years - others get them and as a fashion buy - realise what they cost to run and get out quick, this model is 631 Hp the new car to live upto it’s extreme billing will see big power / torque, less weight so be interesting what they bring to market

The M3 touring is quicker and not even in the same class on paper. The RS6 has the best exterior so if I could take that and put the M3 interior in and slap the E63s engine in that would be the ultimate combo
I highly prefer this interior personally. even if it’s a few years old now
M3 interior is a downgrade

@ManLikeYas imo the Audi integrates the screens better and is more functional with the dedicated AC screen, although I'm not a fan of screens in general. Quality wise the Audi is on par if not better, and has a more luxury cruiser interior with comfy sport seats. The M3 sport seats look cool but are not comfy at all! At least for me..

We all want to know., is this enough to beat Mat’s beloved m5 competition? Thats all that matters.., and btw the fun estate isn’t the me touring but rather the rs3 …, cheers.
Commuting to work on a Monday morning, on the Autobahn doesn't provide much opportunity to hit 150 let alone 180. Contrary to popular belief, the Autobahn can be quite congested. Stand still traffic on some sections. Massive lorries overtakine each other for what feels like an eternity. And they there are the construction zones where the speed limit can be as low as 50 km/h. The best time to be on the Autobahn is a Sunday afternoon. As most Germans don't work on Sundays.3

Problem is, who's it aimed at? There's not enough to tempt people to upgrade from a standard C8 RS6 (I won't be anyway) and the competition is now much further ahead (M3 touring and arguably the E63S). Seems too little too late

M3 touring is smaller, it doesn’t compete with the rs6 (even though it’s just as quick) BMW just doesn’t make a wagon to compete, they only have the sedan.

It’s just a last edition before it goes all electric. Every brand does it.
They did it with TTrs and that’s not meant to be catching up with anyone because it’s being discontinued.
