Really appreciate how hard you drive the performance cars in your reviews Rory. That transparency on performance compared to practicality is both entertaining and helpful.
Rory you are the M3 touring of the vehicle reviews, you are the long awaited journalist of car reviews “to put it mild” as I watch the video with hope that it doesn’t end 😭
Rory is certainly going the extra mile with that tumble dryer. I see a new test category here, forget the banana box test. The window on the boot is probably the greatest feature on any BMW, loved it on my 5-series!
The ultimate M3 review. Great job Rory, you and Matt Watson are my favorite car presenters! And about the car, yeah, I dream of owning this someday! If you would make me choose between Bugatti Chirron and M3 I would choose Bugatti, I would sell it buy an M3 touring and live happily ever after with the rest of the money...
Rory, it's a pleasure to see a black journalist giving quality reviews from a major Auto Magazine. It's been a long time coming, and we're proud to see your success. Keep up the great work!
Pure Top Gear vibes (not just because it’s filmed at the track) and I love it. I’m a sucker for an RS4, so that’s always me preferred fast wagon, but BMW lovers can be very very happy with this. Just wished it looked less like a box on wheels side on.
The thing between your legs, Rory....well the bit on the seat anyway, is for a racing harness to be fitted if you want. But I agree being in one of these before, the seats look great but are very uncomfortable for daily use. I wouldn't spec them personally.
Before Rory got to “I love this car” at 10:10, I could hear him say it just by looking at his grin when he was drifting… 😂😂😂😂😂 I loved that video!!!! We need more of Rory having fun in cars!!!
When you hit that curb and the suspension bounced something tingled ... 🤔 That corner looks oddly like a corner from the Top Gear Test track circa 2007- 2017 👀
Used to think I love the Saloon more than the coupè, my God, now I have a new Touring I love more than the Saloon. Great job BMW, Great review Rory. Sending love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤
It and the regular M3 are great sportscars, but they've completely lost their daily-abilty. Way too stiff, uncomfortable and sporty for real daily use.
No my friend. BMW designers confirmed that they made the m3 ugly on purpose because they wanted to make the new 3.0 CSL look better. Imagine this M3 touring with the new 3.0 CSL grill. Someone has to make a front end kit with it.
I'm sorry Mr. Reid, the design anything but cohesive. I'd still go for the Alpina B3 Touring Allrad. This M3 Touring with that front-end is absolutely hideous...
I really appreciate how you went into the practical downsides! Too many car reviewers make it out to be all fun and games. Amazing performance but definitely the kind of car only those who can afford double the MSRP should consider.
Most car reviewers know their audience: Most people watch fun, but impractical or to expensive cars online, but buy boring and practical cars instead, as I sure would, if I got the money. That also the success of Top Gear explained, which were certainly more a comedy show than actual serious review of cars, and also today both Carwow and Throttle House.
@@AutoTraderTV great job guys. Try to mention it next time in the video. It’s not about performance but suspension can be let down in every day driving like X3M or even M5. This M3 Touring should be much more comfortable in every day use compere to current M5 Is it ?
If BMW brings this to the states I'd definitely buy one. Look at the RS6 Avant and E63 AMG wagon, all of them are incredibly sought after. Make it happen Bimmer.
The big girlls may be a polarising design, but the design is like a double edged sword. Controversy sells, and the design also makes the competition from other brands look boring in comparison.
I didn't realize I was grinning until my girlfriend asked what it was that had me looking like that for so long 🤣🤣. Well done Rory on such an "electrifying" review.
Wheeler Dealers did a conversion where they beat BMW to it! :P Only nit-pick I have with these, especially modern BMW's, is the engine noise. Too artificial for my dinosaury liking.
7:05 12.9sec on the quarter mile? Luckily Carwow just dragraced it and it did 11.4 seconds... ON A COMPLETELY WET SURFACE. So without the wheelspin on the wet tarmac it might be almost two seconds quicker than advertised, which is huge in a dragrace.
Such a great host Mr. Reid . Also a hardworking team in general. It would be a honor to spend 2weeks learning under the AutoTrader team on becoming a great car journalist for the viewers. Another wonderful video. Great shots AutoTrader team!
Rory is interesting, lively, intelligent and humorous: the perfect blend of characteristics for an Automotive Journalist.
@@royed31 ONLY Rory can pull it off. (But yes, it's hideous)
Basically the opposite of that carwow dude
why don't you marry him?
Or just any all-round-nice human being ;)
Yes, but he is an EV lover. Trying to push us into electric

was chatgpt used to write this comment?
The most impressive thing about this video is Rory getting that dryer into the car by himself.
and that is no lie!
He's freaking crazy driving around with the dryer in the back. Would've scratched/dented some panels for sure..
I thought the thumbnail was clickbait. Do you even lift bro!
Absolutely
you need to work on your strength more if that's impressive to you.

Rory we want a face off between this & and the Rs6 avant.. Waiting 😍
Nice to see the Top Gear track
Same car that was use in the TG video.
Is it just me? or did that one drift seem to close to the wall? 😳

And the US doesn’t get it 😢

Did Rory just pull a Ken Block at 07:38 of the video. Absolutely best review of the M3 Touring so far
I'd still take an Alpina B3 Touring over the M3 Touring, especially for road rather than track use.

Shoutout to all my brothers that’ll be able to sell this as a family car to their wives
I always hated car shows. I never saw anything in this genre.
Then I got to this channel. A joy!
I personally see no reason buying this over the M340i
as an american we should have a station wagon option. i would've gladly paid an extra $10k for one even without a carbon fiber roof.
Birthplace of the Country Squire and Vista Cruiser, and near-zero demand for wagons (estates). Drives me nuts.
@@danmayberry1185 i had to google those vehicles. wish they bring back wood paneling.
It's a looker though. Can't get over that front end. One of if not the worst front end ever. Up there with a fiat multipla
5:55 "What is this thing in between my legs. What's the point". Ummmm
The drift near the tyres was epic!

100 grand for an M3. Yeah I'll wait a year or two for depreciation to work its magic
Compared with the saloon, it only has an extra 20 litres of boot space, but it weighs 160 kg more?? I call that an engineering failure.
Just watching carwow video where this m3 touring beats the rs6 in every single challenges

The perfect every day car...or 340i Touring?
For an everyday car I think m340i is better, it sort of match the rs6 as a some balance middle ground.
Love a Rory review. Well put together, fun and informative. What a jumper tho! lol
I think I will still choose Taycan GT over this.. Im going all electric 2024
Testing this car on track is pointless. 99% of this cars will be driven on regular roads only and that’s where the test should be done.
We tested it on the road too. Can confirm it is excellent at 30mph.

The M3 looks so angry. Love the looks. And the engineering is top notch as expected
Was this filmed on the TopGear test track?
Good work! But I doubt that people who can afford such car care about gasoline consumption. I drive good old e46 and it has the same consumption lol.
I honestly believe if it looked like the m340i they’d sell more.

Not sure which is more jaw dropping, the car or the fact that Rory loaded a washing machine into the boot by himself
LOL hilarious...dryer in the back with no 3 pin plug, "How's he going to use it?" Great review.
The Honda E has a 1.5kW 3 pin plug so you could run a tumble dryer inside of a Honda E, if you could find some way of getting it through the doors.
Good luck parking it in the UK. For us the ideal dimensions were the estates 20 years ago. The roads haven’t gotten any bigger (usually smaller)
Drifting with your washing machine in the back. What more could one want?
