100% convinced BMW is only still selling due to brand recognition/cache.
Every new model they come out with is increasingly uglier, heavier, and cheaper on the inside.
They literally have nothing beyond really good ICE engines right now. Which for 90% of new BMW owners, doesn't truly matter.
But they continue to make record sales, so they must know something you don't.
Looks is subjective. I do agree on the weight though.

BMW knows that rare drivers will really drive this gen of M5 on the track so it doesn’t care about the weight as long as the engine can provide enough power under current technology
You don't have to drive it on the track to feel how heavy is. Even moderate drives on my F90 LCI feel heavy.

People around the world were begging BMW for the rebirth of an M5 Touring and they do it on THIS GENERATION of all? It will sell close to nothing and BMW will discontinue the touring again for low interest.
I say well done to bmw for doing this next to no choice out there so let's cut them some slack for a change folksand not k ocking them down yet again on what thay have achieved 🎉

Absolutely AWESOME! THE ULTIMATE " Wagon". BMW M Division will have sorted out everything. The 2+ tonnes will " not exist"... This will be incredible.

Nice reply I drive the i5 m60 big heavy car on paper doesn't feel like that on the road when it's driven it's an incredible car and thanks to the m division it's more agile than you think I will be great car ignore all the negative comments 😊
Or perhaps have a sports car, wagon/suv and a 200hp motorcycle all for less than this.
Still take the current rs6 over this though, not visually pleasing for me.

lol I’d take a high powered 8 cylinder hybrid or even a 6 any day and I hate electric cars. It’s cool when McLaren does it in an over priced sports car though, huh?

I know and get it! I’m tired of new cars now just having massive displays surrounding the cockpit, im beginning to miss the simple and clean clear easy to read odometers , don’t need all thiese digital screens that are getting bigger and bigger and taking up the whole space. Car is for driving enjoying the connection between human and machine and not (my opinion) to go inside and turn on the digital PlayStation lol

Love it. Would love one, but would have to try it out before I could answer you question of this vs the RS6 or even the EAMG.
Who in their right mind would buy this over the M3 Touring?
Now I'm just sitting here, confused. Not knowing whether to go cancel my RS6 Performance order & wait for this M5 Touring or should I just stick to the plan & buy what I afford anyways, which is a VW Polo. On a serious note though, I heard BMW split the diffuser into 2 parts to allow optional towbar installation. If that's the case then why put the reverse light there on a Touring? Wouldn't the towbar block the light?

Nice and stylish + very efficient super wagon combined with Plug-in hybrid technology and four-wheel drive, (but) the design of the corners of the front end... reminds me of the Kia Ceed model. 🤔

Hells no.. i'd get the RS6 and give it some extra power to match.
Wth is this.The designers at BMW should consider further training; their recent designs are moving further away from being beautiful and stylish. Right now, in the Touring family, the M3 is the only one that still looks great. Just take a look at the disastrous design of the M5-oh my god! When you compare it to the M3 with the Adro kit, you'll truly understand what it means to be stylish.

You never know with BMW. I remember when I bought my 3 series, they had Pirellis and I am not a fan of those, I changed them to Continental. I like Michelin also.

What a machine BMW have done it again 💯👌a slight shame about the hybrid but I don't think bmw had a choice due to the constant ludicrous law changes for car manufacturers.
A 540i without sports options is plenty good for me.

As much as I'm not a fan of modern BMW's that is nice however 200mpg, absolute nonsense. Don't care if it's a plug in hybrid or not or how much you plug it in you'll still never get that figure, oh and I'd say also indicators will also be optional! 😂

Estates are the best kind of any car, looks better than most but the spec is a profligate waste of clever engineering which could be directed in much more intelligent and useful directions. Alex is as ever brilliant.
In future, please simply refuse to review a car that you are not allowed to drive, it simply makes this video pointless!
