    Thanks for the wonderful preview Naveen and Monique! I just discovered that the publisher of this game, Game Brewer, is based in a little Belgian city called Turnhout, only a 15min drive from where I grew up! Awesome to potentially back a local publisher. Thanks for bringing this one up and as always, have a great week!

      Oh hey that is so cool! I (Naveen) had the opportunity to visit Belgium with my family when I was 12. It was absolutely breathtaking there. Would love to go back again some time!

      Awesome Naveen that you visited Belgium when you where young and to hear you had a great time! I can say the same thing about California where you live; absolutely stunning there (and a lot sunnier lol) :-) Take care!

    Looks interesting and love the aesthetics. Can't wait for the playthrough! 😊
    Edit: Just noticed from the other comments that the playthrough is not on your immediate agenda. I guess that's the problem with having so many exciting games to play and only 24 hours in the day. 😁

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  3 года назад

      The board is massive, but it really does a great job showcasing the art. We unfortunately won't be doing a playthrough (totally right about 24 hours) since our calendar is quite compressed the next few months.

    Colors, artworks, iconography and theme really look and feel like Elysium.

      It's been a little while since I last played Elysium (love that game btw). I'd say the artwork is a little more "cartoonish" in this one though.

    Thanks for the rules explanation. This was very clear :)
    There are a few decisions in here that I really like. I've been thinking about a game brewer game for a LONG time. The board looks a bit too big in my opninion but for the rest I think this is one I'll try out :)

    Woohoo a euro with an ancient Greece theme and medicine (which is something definitely not common) AND Game Brewer?! (they always provide a low shipping rate for my country XD)
    Already backed haha
    although...I'm quite worried about the giant board...

      Hi Kyle, we unfortunately don't have plans as of now to do a playthrough (schedule is jammed packed). Jon of JonGetsGames I believe did a playthrough though. Hope that will help!

    Hey there, thanks for the great overview! It looks like a fun game with an appealing theme... However, my only concern is that it appears to be rather on the light side of Euros. Could you comment on this and put it a bit in perspective? Normally, I rather enjoy heavier titles from Mindclash or Lacerda and I'm a bit concerned that I'll be bored after a couple of plays..

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  3 года назад +3

      Hi Tim! Thank you for your question. It is definitely on the lighter side. The meat of the gameplay is going to be in the way you need to try to select the proper patients and match them with the proper doctors while managing your money to purchase more medicine. It's an efficiency game, but pretty simple ruleset. Not heavy at all.

  • @brickisland6353

    I think the green, blue and cyan colors are very similar, hard to see if you have bad light or they are on their own.

  • @GKEK
    @GKEK 3 года назад +3

    I like this theme. Once again though, I wish they went with a landscape orientation on the board. Also the individual player areas look to be really monstrous given the diagonal puzzle orientation. Having multiple doctors and patients... yikes!

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  3 года назад

      Yeah, not sure what the final production copy will be looking like. The artwork is really nice but the size of the components mean a 4 player game will really require a decent sized table.

  • @Projected1

    I know you work in the health industry. How do you feel about playing games like these? Does it bother you that it might be too close to work for it to be fun?
    I ask because my wife is a doctor and she is simply not interested at all in playing any boardgames related to medicine because of that reason, games like Dice Hospital, Hipocrates, etc.
    Anyways, awesome vid as always :)

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  3 года назад +1

      No doesn't bother us at all. We like to see a wide array of themes in games (even though we don't really care about theme lol). Look into a game called "Rush M.D", it's a VERY thematic real-time co-op game that just might make your wife wife flip the table hahaha.

    boy I still wish I knew what "Klingon subtitles" means

    • @adamV1P
      @adamV1P 3 года назад +1

      If you turn on closed captions there is an option for english or klingon. Klingon subtitles wont be all the words they speak but will pop up whenever there is a rule mistake they catch during editing.

    Is it me or is this not very similar to Lorenzo il Magnifico mechanics wise?

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  3 года назад +1

      Kind of sort of... No dice but the pawns block certain column, in Lorenzo you can always pay extra coins to go to a column a player has already visited.

  • @sirrathersplendid4825

    Looks beaut; but the gameplay seems to have more in common with political lobbying than being a doctor in ancient Greece.

  • @mbergeron1487
    @mbergeron1487 3 года назад +1

    Looks like a real table hog, from the ridiculously oversized board (sooo much dead space), to the sprawling, puzzle-like assembly of doctors and patients, While the overall theme is intriguing, I don't see why you lose reputation for choosing certain (random) patient spaces while gaining for others. Not having played or even read the rules, I'm likely missing key points and elements, but it doesn't appear well thought out to me. Hard pass.

    • @milest4214
      @milest4214 3 года назад +1

      Because certain patients are first in line, it would be unethical to 'skip' a patient so to speak.

    • @BeforeYouPlay
      @BeforeYouPlay  3 года назад +1

      I think Miles nailed it thematically. Table hog... now that's something I can't speak on lol.
