I don't know what Gamebrewer are doing at the moment. The kickstarter versions of both this and Stroganov were a huge letdown. You hit the nail on the head when you said this will be lost to the sands of time. Stroganov will be the same. It also doesn't do enough different and is bogged down by a couple of weird choices. Also, Bigger boards has to be the least appealing kickstarter exclusives going. Why do I want to pay extra to not be able to reach across the board? Carnegie was also a bigger board, but they kepy it reasonable. luckily.
I agree entirely with you. The interesting part of the game is the linking mechanism and that is what the designers should have built a smaller yet tighter game around. Too much other ‘stuff’ for sure, and that board is at least 30% too big. I’m not surprised that there isn’t much buzz around this game, which is a shame.
I was so disappointed in this. I really wanted to love this game, but the drafting of the patients, doctors and then the medicine all felt unnecessary on that too big of a board.. A simple deck of cards with all the info that people could pass around to draft and pay for ( terraforming mars ) would be so much better. I also felt that the game stayed relatively flat. it didn't ramp up but seemed to ramp down with diminishing returns. Not to mention that it has been in retail for months before backers got their copies. My cardboard insert was crushed during shipping. Big let down. I think with this and low quality Stoganov, Game Brewer is having some major PR problems as their last game on Gamefound ( kickstarter was too hot for them ) was canceled.
Rules Correction - The dice ARE re-rolled each turn the patients are welcomed.

Yeah, I assumed that the deluxe version would be more than worth it (like Gugong) but it's definitely not.
As someone who played the prototype, I've basically played the final copy I guess.
