  • BMW E39 530d M57 with the complain of little bit , out of the ordinary , turbo lag / delay . After checking the vacuum lines , turbo actuator , it was time to check the pressure converter or as someone call it , the boost transducer . In this test we going to use regular 12 V battery and a vacuum gun . Lets see what is the difference between faulty ( old ) and brand new pressure converter . This converters can be found on BMW E90 E91 E60 E61 E70 E65 E81 E83 E92 and so on .

    Thank you for another great video!
    Very interesting, reliable and easy way of testing electrovalves.
    I usualy engage valve bidirectionally and check vaccum at various inputs and outputs to see where is the lack of it, or no vac at all, but this method is great too.

    Crank - Such a helpful video. A huge thank you. With your help I have fixed my Mercedes Sprinter which had a sticky actuator leading to a P2263 fault code and MIL light. I followed the advice on another video to spray WD40 into the valve. Worked like a charm and will keep me running until I can organise a replacement.
    Keep up the good work and Thanks again.

    Thank you very much!! My new old car is throwing P0243 "Turbocharger wastegate solenoid A failure." When I asked a Chinese supplier, they commented that these devices are highly unlikely to fail but after seeing your video I'm now questioning that. In any event, and although I realise that there are other failure modes too in this vacuum control system, I still did order a replacement. At AU$40, delivered, it can't be a bad bet. But again, thanks for this great clarification.

    Кранк, наскоро почна едно бучене/пърдене от клапана на турбото след като загася колата, клапана е нов Пиербур(като този от клипа) от Елит Кар съм го взел преди година. Гледах, проверявах, слагах друг стар и той пърди :) Днеска мерих вакума преди клапана и държи 09-08. Но реших да тествам наученото от клипа и се провали, тоест изпуска по един см-от скалата и после пак връща. тествах и на ЕГР-ра, той се държеше като на клипа, демек здрав :) Смених и и сега сякаж колата върви доста по добре, но гледам вакуметера, вече държи вакум доста по голям от преди, не знам колко зашото ми е до -1 Утре ще купя друг, та помагай сега, колко вакум трябва да държи тази помпа :)

    • @crank3646
      @crank3646  4 года назад

      Кажи ми в какви мерни единици ти е уреда . Ти къде точно мериш вакуума ? Принципно в масовия случай като сменим "пърдящ" клапан с нов , клиентите винаги казват че усещат подобрение във вървежа след това . Иначе да и аз ползвам същите Pierburg и съм взимал и от Елиткар също

      Changed all vac lines for my 335d EU, bought 2 new PC's , one was holding vacuum, but on other one could not get any vacuum(so was 100% sure its faulty) old PC's could get vacuum but would lose it in 3-4s(so i thought these too are faulty) put the only good one in the car(turbo changeover),and kept one of the old ones(WG), and after driving i realized that the new one doesn't release vacuum when needed, when my small turbo overboosted causing a loud bang and loss of power(car is fine,no worries:) ),and after engine off the PC would not release the changeover valva either, so tried the same "new/good" PC for wastegate( as much as i know on default there is no vacuum supplied for WG,only at high rpm/overboost) but the "good" PC generated vacuum for WG right from beginning opening the WG,when it should be closed...so put back in the other old (faulty) one and swapped it with the "good" one,noticed it pulling the changeover valve and when driving got my changeover from Hp to Lp, so started testing the other old one,but not sure yet,because theres no vaccuum from wastegate at idle(default), next weekend will try to swap with the other old one to see if it opens the changeover valve, and then i had an idea, to grab my new "bad" PC which didn't hold any vacuum(from this video it would seem bad right at beginning)...plugged it to electricity and it works,generates vacuum,and releases after engine off(30s) so hooked it up for changeover valve and the old one which was for changeover now plugged to WG. Forgot to mention i did test the vac for both of them and.both come out 25+inHg...so know i got 2 working(maybe 3,when finish testing the other old one) PC's from 4...

    • @roland9637
      @roland9637 4 года назад

      So what i was trying to say is that 335d PC are definitely not the same as in this video, and I've red that some people claim they should be vaccum tight like in this vid, and.some say they checked theirs(used ones) and they don't hold vacuum more than few second like my old ones, so it might be the older ones like these should be vacuum tight, and like my new one,only was holding vacuum when plugged to electricity, and when disconnected would loose vac instantly,same as my old ones vacuum for few seconds but when on engine generated 25+inHg, ignore that one which wasn't releasing vacuum. So basically if u wanna test your PC's u can't trust only on this test, definitely worth doing it but it could be they work the other way around, electricity doesn't release vac,but holds it...and definitely test them being on car ,swap around, measure vac at different revs...shit way of testing them but at least something:)
