The Question is: With you type of setup I can send\share simultaneously the Bluetooth and USB connection from IPAD to my remote PC for processing on PC the OBD software connected in remote through the IPAD? Than you
I don’t think you can do that. For that to work, iPads would need to offer a pass through service for Bluetooth devices. I don’t think that service is offered right now.
It’s working fine, but I have no sound coming out of my iPad every time I play something like a video or a song on the remote set up on my iPad it is just quiet no sound is coming out of the iPad and I’ve already checked my audio settings on the iPad. There is nothing disabled.
Hey Geet! Thanks for the great video. I was able to follow along and got everything set up, however on my Windows 11 Pro laptop, Tailscale shows that it does not have an internet connection even though the computer is connected and working. Any ideas? Thanks again!
The easier way to do this without the need of a vpn is using port forwarding. You need to access your home router and forward the rdp port (usually 3389) to point to that computer you want access to. Once you do that, you only need to know your public ip address of your homenetwork, that way you can just type in your public ip in RD Client and all will work. There shouldnt be a need for a middleman or software or vpn. Just direct access to your pc over the internet.
Port forwarding opens holes in your network. Call me paranoid but I am not a fan of that. Tailscale although appears like a con but it creates a virtual network only between your devices. And allows you to connect from outside your network through an encrypted connection, and your home network stays secure(ish)

Thank you! Happy to help. 1. Yes the PC must be on and connected to a network. 2. No. It doesn’t have to stay unlocked. You don’t even need for the computer to have a display. 3. no. unfortunately, apple doesn't allow a USB pass through. you can only access a very specific folder in the files app. so you might be able to copy stuff from your flash drive to ipad's storage, and then access the files on from your ipad's storage on the connected computer.
Yes. When you first setup the connection you should see an option for sound. Choose "Play on This Device" and you should get audio routed to your iPad.

How fast does such a system work? what is the delay and how many fps do you get in the end?
I have no idea. It is decent enough to do basic things. It also depends on how good your network is. If you want to play games like this, this might not be the solution for you
Thank you so much for sharing how to do this!! Very much appreciated!
Happy to help!!
May I know does this app supports full screen external display connected to iPad?
I apologize but I don’t know the answer to that question. My ipad only has a lightening port. Check Reddit maybe?
got it to work, but my keyboard really doesn't work when playing games. Esc key takes me out to Ipad homescreen. I can't use arrow keys in games. Emails work fine
You should look into game streaming services(steam link maybe). Those services are optimized for low latency.
Just to make sure, I need to log in my Microsoft account on my pc for Remote Desktop right? My pc is currently using local account.
No. The opposite of that. Don't use Microsoft account. Stick with your local account.
@@GeetMadan yeah, i figure it out. I am currently using Remote Desktop on my iPad. Thank you very much.
I have a question about that second app Tailscale, does the laptop has to be turn on to use windows on your iPad or it can be turned off?
The laptop has to be at least powered on and connected to a network. You can lock out of your account but you need power and network.

@user-ii9ke5qr4e the PC has to stay on. There is way to turn on your remotely with something enable wake on lan, but I am not too sure on how to set it. You might wanna search RUclips for that.
it would be wery usefull to mnetion in the video how to disable mouse pointer using ipad
That's a good point. That would have been helpful. thank you for the feedback!
@@GeetMadan thank you, I have one better, it disconects after about 10 minutes if the app is minimized,...tried many settings, registry etc, useless app, I really do not get it how can be that basic functionality as rdp from ipad to windows so so problematic, it is no way that seemless how it appears from your and many other videos,.
@@janulik9535 I wish i could help you with that man. I think that's the limitation they have built in. I never expected it to be connected in the background because it even disconnects on MacOS or Windows if it is left unattended. I would regard this app or RDP in general as seamless because of how easy it is to connect and how smooth the functionality is after you are connected. I hope it helps.
@@GeetMadan this is not true, on windows rdp client does not disconect until you disconect it. i do not understand why you do not expect to stay conected. I do not think it is a future of app, might be but standard windows rdp client does not do that and thisone is also microsoft app.
@janulik9535 yeah I don’t know about that. Also just tried out the pointer thing. It automatically switches to pointer mode when you move the mouse and then back to touch mode when you touch your iPad screen. Also, I tried the 10 minute thing and my iPad didn’t disconnect. Maybe you should try re-installing the app or you are running out memory and IPad is killing your background apps.
how if i use on the same wifi coffe shop (public wifi), i want to use my ipad to drawing on photoshop laptop. it's safe? other people can't join on my network?
Safe, I would assume so. Tailscale creates a private network between your devices. But I would suggest looking into duet or spacedesk to connect your iPad as an external display to your PC.
thankyou its very helpful @@GeetMadan

How do I copy files from Rdp to Ipad?
Wow I appreciate you direct, user friendly approach!🙏🏿🎉🎊
I appreciate that!
Everything works! Thank you so much!
Thank you! Amazing!!!
can i like connect an usb storage on ipad but show on pc?
no. unfortunately, apple doesn't allow a USB pass through. you can only access a very specific folder in the files app. so you might be able to copy stuff from your flash drive to ipad's storage, and then access the files on from your ipad's storage on the connected computer.
@ thanks!
tutorial how to move video files from ipad to rdp. help please
I’m working on something similar. Not through RDP but another app that claims over 2Gbps transfer speeds
Any way to enable the sound of windows in ipad?
Yes. When you first setup the connection you should see an option for sound. Choose "Play on This Device" and you should get audio routed to your iPad.
Fantastic, but touch is not working on ipad. It is working like you need a mouse on the ipad. You can drag the mouse around, but of course you want to use it like a touch screen to touch tabs and things. How to do that? Windows touch settings are linked to touch hardware? Thanks.
When you don't have a keyboard connected, you should be able to switch between touch and mouse/keyboard mode. Maybe this can help: i.imgur.com/jW9IkFE.gif
Is it Possible control ipad from my iphone or windows pc?
Help me! Urgent
Note: want From different networks by romote
does this also work with macbook, especially with tailscale?
Yeah it would work the same way. Both the apps are available for macOS
I have been trying to figure this out for several hours now. My RD Client on my iPad keeps saying "The User Account Did Not Work" and keeps asking me for the log in information. No matter what i type, it never works.
I've tried typing it in the format Domain/User and User@Domain, and i've tried my password for my microsoft account AND for my desktop itself. None of these combinations will work. I've had this account set to local and non local while trying all of the above several times.
I cannot get this to work for the life of me. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Anything would be helpful.
@@corbin9079 I was gonna suggest you to switch a local account but it seems you have already tried that. The only thing I can think of is creating a new local user (but with admin privileges) on your PC. See if you are able to login as that user.
.
Try accessing the computer over RDP using another windows PC to ensure it is not just the iPad app or the connection from the iPad that is being rejected.
How do I do it on home?
RASENSHURIKEN!! you got a sub, my fellow nerd 😂😂
Thank you so much!
How to full-display this RD Client when using external monitor ?
As of right now, RDP doesn’t support external displays on iPad. Hopefully they will update the app soon. Here is an open thread about this on MS Forums: techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/azure-virtual-desktop-feedback/rdp-with-ipad-pro-m2-connected-to-an-external-display-does-not/idi-p/3724654

What if you have signed in to your Desktop with your Microsoft Account and not a Local Desktop Account ? How to connect in this case ? I am getting error in that case
I don’t know how to make it work with a Microsoft account but you can switch to a local account without losing access to Microsoft services. I made a RUclips shorts showing how to do it:

@@GeetMadan Perfect Thanks Brother man
Thanks for the info my friend.
thanks alot it saved my day
Does this work with 5g?
Yes but only with tailscale
Now can i code with my ipad?
I followed all the steps you mention, but I can’t connect with my user account. I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong, but I’m using the username and password that I use on my desktop PC. Please, help me with this!
You might need to switch to a local account. Take a look at the pinned comment for the solutions.
i dont understand how to sign into the user account on rd client
When you try to connect, it should provide a prompt to enter your login and password. the login and password has to be windows local user account and password. If you currently use a microsoft account for your PC, you might have to convert it back to a local user or create another user on windows that you use only for remote desktop.
Hi, thank you very much for the video, I have 2 questions
1) Is using tailscale vpn service safe and secure?
2) My rdp connection is slow how can I make it more responsive and faster
Happy to help. So for 1. Tailscale is really secure. It pretty much setups a firewall between you and your computer and send encrypted data between the two. It is like setting up a personal vpn with WireGuard, which is a opensource standard for vpn encryption. It is super safe.
For speed, I haven’t had that issue until like yesterday. I restarted my computer that seemed to have fixed the issue for now.
@@GeetMadan ohh ok thanks
Does Tailscale still work? I installed the file but it won't run when I try to open it.
Tailscale should be working. It opens to the system tray. Do you have a new icon on your system tray?
@@GeetMadan Yeah, the icon appears on my computer but when you click on it to open it nothing happens.
It should open on the tray (bottom right corner) similar to the way it does in the video. If you want, send me screenshots on discord and hopefully I can help you better there.
Idk why but I can't log in to my computer. The issue is about the user acc idk how to create and I did it need password I typed and I can't access to my computer. I need help 😢
you might wanna switch to a local account on your windows. it is necessary to do that if you want to use Microsoft Remote Desktop.
i just wanna do this just to play games from anywhere, i guess latency would be an issue but atleast i can still play
I would try it but I think there are specific solutions for game streaming. try moonlight game streaming.
I have an iPad and an iPhone. It works perfectly on both devices. Except on cellular data on my iPhone. How can I fix it ?
It should work with Tailscale installed. Is your computer online on the Tailscale app on your iPhone?
great tutorial
Geet, thanks for the video!
perfect, tysm 🤝
can i change the resolution on ipad? it seems blurry
Yes. Under settings for RD Client there is an option for display settings. There you can set a resolution.
@@GeetMadan thank you!!
Great vid, can you connect usb to thunderbolt port on iPad and use with windows remotely?
from what I can find on the internet, i don't think USB pass-through is supported by iPad. I don't personally have USB C iPad, so I can t' confirm if that has changes recently.
Help! I can't seem to connect to my windows laptop from macbook even though we're on the same network. I used the IPV4 address but my mac is saying Unable to connect - We couldn't connect to the remote PC. Make sure the PC is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled. I've done all the steps on the video and still not working.

Can you ensure you don’t have a vpn connected or another firewall that prevents your computer from being detected on your local network. Are you still able to connect via Tailscale though?
