Coming along Buddy. This series of videos bring back memories. My First Ham radio was the Yaesu FT 101EX. I loved that radio. It went with me from Florida to Alaska where I went to collage. They were built like a tank. Thanks for the videos. 73 Joe
I always liked them older radios. That's going to be almost a new radio when you're done with it. Good job and love the overlay in the video with you explaining on camera what ya doing and what's going on with it. 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent work Buddy. It sure brings back memories. You need to find an FL-101B amplifier for your collection. I would love to see a video of restoring one of them. Thanks again for sharing your expertise with us. 73 de K7RMJ Frank
I love your new look with you talking in the insert at the lower right. Very nice, Buddy. That's another thing I like about your work, you mark the piece to return it to the same position. Doesn't the contact cleaner remove your marks? Once again I look forward to videos from you. Keep the videos coming. I do read your comments on TRX Labs. If you're working on a piece of Ham gear, I'm watching. Cheers & 73 from W Rusty Lane K9POW in eastern Tennessee
Thanks for the nice comment my friend. Yes that is true with what you said about the marker washing off with the contact cleaner. However, it leaves two nicely etched spots where the ink was so it is still visible, I love Peters videos.
Ok another project I have to do. My FT-101 VFO is very stiff and there is the fix. Thanks buddy and I will get to work on that one soon. Wonder if the FT-102 has the same system?
I always said they got the idea of that ball drive from Briggs & Stratton ...... Great video Buddy I wish I still had my Yaesu 101 E .... Take Care Mon Ami ......
Buddy, Thanks for the detailed video on this. One of my 101's VFO does the same thing with that slow spot as you turn. Could you maybe slow a detail video on Cleaning the Band Switch and others with the Deoxit spray? Seems most of the videos, that part is edited out. 73 de KA5IVR
Very nice work on this radio Buddy. I wonder could you help me out with the dimensions of the extender boards for these radio's? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work. Best regards
Good question! Not all rigs are tuned a like. Sometimes you will find someone that tunes to your frequency but souds off to you. The clarifier on the 101 acts more like a RIT.
I agree with others your face/body view insert makes the channel more personable, hope you keep doing it! 73 - Dino KLØS
You know I very seldom do that as I want to video to be about the content and not me, however it does seem to work so more of that to come.
Well Buddy.... didn't expected this repair today.... but it was well received thanks for the show.... thank you...
Much appreciated Pierre
Thanks for the masterclass on the ball drive
You are welcome. Sometimes the simple stuff means the most.
Always great to see another video from you Buddy.
Thanks for watching my friend
Another of many enjoyable videos Buddy, thanks.
And thank you
Thanks Buddy! These are time consuming repairs requiring a lot of patience!! Thanks for the videos!!
Appreciate the comment Scott

Thanks Joe, these were built to last. Remarkable rigs.
Great job! I really like the little picture at the bottom with you in the video!
Thanks, glad you like it.
Wonderful to watch! Thanks for that
and thank you for watching
I love it! The face insert was great
Glad you enjoyed that.

Glad you like it Joe. This radio is coming along quite nicely
Looking good Buddy.
Thanks Peter
Hi , great stuff, always look forward to your old rig projects. Half way through a TS-830 here, but struggling a little haha. Many thanks from UK.
Cool deal on the 830, keep plugging at it. I am sure you will win. Thanks

Be nice to find one Frank, but most of them was transformed into mono banders I am afraid. Thanks

Thanks for the video Buddy. Where can you find the 1000 volt 83 pf caps. All I can find is 500 volt.
Thanks
Thank you. DigiKey, Mouser, and I think RF Parts has them.
Great tuning drive fix, nice job Buddy.
Thanks Bill
Ok another project I have to do. My FT-101 VFO is very stiff and there is the fix. Thanks buddy and I will get to work on that one soon. Wonder if the FT-102 has the same system?
Thanks Lyle. Yes the 102 has a similar drive.
I always said they got the idea of that ball drive from Briggs & Stratton ...... Great video Buddy I wish I still had my Yaesu 101 E .... Take Care Mon Ami ......
I think you have a point there lol. B&S has been around a long time.

I sure will. There is a trick to it, you cannot let the cleaner soak into the material.
Great Video
Excelente trabajo para esa máquina fabulosa 👍
Gracias

Give me a email, you can find it under the show more tab
Is any way you can do a video on properly tuning the pre selector coils alignment? T-101, T102, T103?
Working on this. Videos on Patreon then coming to YT
If you dial in a station until it sounds good, what is the value of having a clarifier?

You sell that radio?
I have parts for a FT101E if you want the parts, let me know. I like your videos
May be interested. Look for the link under the show more tab and contact me when you have time.
