Thanks for the video, I have always enjoyed using this series of radios, I have owned my TS930 since the mid 80s. I must have thousands of hours on it.
interesting about D51, it also lights in my Radio and it works fine, I saw that glow and thought it was a LED in an early special package so never checked it farther
I watch your video with a lot of interest. Thank you for doing it. I recently acquired a TS940SAT which has a broken RF Final unit; I’m trying to figure out how to go about fixing it. Since the new PA board is elevated by the new, additional copper heatsink, washers or stand-offs need to be used at its 4 corners and 4 additional mounting holes else the board might be bent if the screws are over-tightened. At minute 24’, the thermistor wires are cut and there’s no longer a thermistor hooked up to the fan control circuit (IC1 and Q7, Q8 on the LPF unit board), I suspect the cooling fan is permanently disabled.
Thanks for showings the install Buddy...I've replaced the power supply in my 940 along with all the other updates...been waiting on the PA board just 'cause the radio isn't on the radio bench anyway. Look forward to see how you resolve the issue(s)! 73 - Dino KLØS
The new RF Transistor is not MRN101AN it's MRF101AN they cost about $27 + shipping from Mouser RF MOSFET Transistors Wideband RF Power LDMOS Transistor, 100 W CW over 1.8-250 MHz, 50 V
It's a shame about the PA transistors for I have 20 of them made by ECG new in the original packs of when I ran my Communications business. I'd be willing to trade for some repairs.
@@TheRadioShop one is pa problem, one the dot problem, one rx and tx but no audio on speaker the other two I don’t remember but I think is the drivers on the pa and the last one power supply issues
I have a radio , Sony CRF 320 , it’s needs a full service etc , please can you do this for me , please send your address and post code , thank you , Phil
Nothing like watching Buddy go through one of these radios and bringing it back to life! Thanks for the post!!
Thanks for waatching

Great radios when they are working correctly. Thanks for the comment
I used to have a Kenwood 430S but gave it away when I got my new Yaesu 991a. Love my Yaesu. Cheers from K9POW in eastern TN

Thanks Dino. Good job on the PS upgrade.
Buddy if you look at the picture of the board on the heat sink it tells you the black washers are for spacers 👍
Yep it does lol. But who reads directions.. :)
@@TheRadioShop 😂
@@TheRadioShop doing it twice doubles the fun 😂👍
D51 appears on page 20 of the service manual in Figure 12. Looks like it is in the ALC circuit, specifically the area that drives the meter.
Thanks for the homework! Will check that out.
Awesome video Buddy. Always a pleasure to watch your videos.🙂👍
very good, thank you
Thanks for watching
eliminates all the filtering. Should work great!

You are correct Carl, I still could not read it. Thanks for the correction.

The carrier board
Is this radio really worth the new parts and repair costs which exceed its initial price?
i have 5 of those radios and none of those work 😭
None work? Time to get busy. What problems do they have?
