Check out how to install this card next: ruclips.net/video/A2aqpr05-WA/видео.html In EVGA Geforce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming - RGB Lighting Control we go over how to control the RGB LED lights, but then also the ARGB and Fan Header. EVGA Precision X1 on the 24G-P5-3987-KR
It looks great but i would have like a little more presets or RGB lights option, it still look limited in the rgb department. MSI mystic light software is still the king of rgb's it has so many rgb's lighting option that is just out of this world. Just look at the RTX 2080 or 2080Ti super card and if you love rgb's you gonna go crazy putting so rgb's in those cards
@@Nightmare-xx4gv yeah, not the greatest and sadly there is no way to control it externally, I HIGHLY recommend to comment on the forums asking for it, and make the suggestion to allow for external control, I have asked for it, the more that do, the better the chances we will get it. Sapphire allows for this, they have TRIXX, but there is a switch in trixx to switch it to external so other programs can use it, which is genius.
My 3080 is in the mail. This is the only vid I could find so far on YT of anyone showing a 3000 series FTW3 actually installed and what the RGB looks like
The Temperature one is my favorite, but I change the colors from Blue/Green/Red to Green/Yellow/Red for a more traditional temperature meter. Looks cool and actually useful.

Same thing happened to me after having an ASUS Strix on order from OCUK 😂 had been waiting 2 months with them but saw the EVGA on Amazon and snagged it while I could and cancelled my original order
I really enjoyed this. I was offered a FTW3 Ultra instead of the strix I ordered, but I was able to console myself with the knowledge that the RGB is really nice. I actually quite like the look of this card now :-).
Thats awesome my friend, so very happy you not only enjoyed the video but you got the card you wanted. Lot's of people are hating on the looks, I think most of them are jumping on the bandwagon, because for some reason it's fun to hate, but the card is beautiful. The card performs amazing as well.

Hello my friend, I just set all 3 fans at 0% and 0 degrees and all 3 fans turned off. I quickly put it back to default since the noise does not bother me, and I want to make sure it stays cool, but it can be done. There is a blue perforated line at 20% but you can drop down below that if you like using Precision.

Good to know that the software also updates the firmware but I kind of wish there was a standard for this stuff so I could use a universal lightweight app to turn the lights of. Just got a 3070 ftw3, time to turn the lights off. Edit: After playing with the options a bit I decided to go with the 3 zone temp setting, actually useful and a lot less distracting than the default. Thanks for the vid!
agreed, and they made software for this.... but you have to pay a monthly subscription, and there is no way I will pay for that, a one time fee maybe, but monthly, that is greedy.
Is that a z490 dark MB? I've been looking to buy one but their not available? So, if it is, how is it and any idea how to get one? I'm def gonna do an upgrade around Black Friday, I was kinda stuck between the evga z490 dark and an ASUS Maximus XII Hero.
Hello! Nice video bro. But I have got one question... Do you know if is possible and safe to connect many ARGB 5v 3 pin headers to an ARGB hub SATA powered and then connect that hub to the GPU? So I would be able to control everything connected to the ARGB hub with Precision X1 and all of them sync with my GPU. Hope you understand my doubt haha. Greetings from Guatemala.
Is it possible to control FTW3 RGB through Asus Armoury Crate software? Some hardware, such as Corsair RAMs are compatible with armoury crate. Thanks in advance!
I want to help you out, but I need you to be a little more detailed as to what you are asking this is a 2 year old video, but I am still using this card as my main card.
I got a 3080ftw3 since 2days :-) I love it! I mean at 5:01 the menu shown. On the right side it shows a rainbow bar and underneath stands: 60 LEDs. I changed those numbers but didn’t saw any change :)
My card doesn't say that it's a FTW3, so it's a different EVGA, but it does say adjustable RGB lighting. Here is the model number or description information , can you tell me if this software you are using will work with my EVGA as well. I'm asking this because I'm wondering if I can control the Corsair lighting of a AIO 360mm cooling unit along with corsair rgb memory sticks? Or should i get ALL EVGA if i intend to control all the RGB lighting in sync with one another? I want FULL synchronization. FULL !!!! yes, key phrase is on all EVGA cards that DO have RGB, some expect Black cards without RGB to be able to do this... I hate to burst their bubbles hahah
How are you genius? I come with a concern. I have a Geforce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming but I use Signal RGB. The point is that I have all the PC compatible with Aura Sync and therefore, in Signal RGB I can control all the devices with total normality and although my GPU, the application recognizes it and I can control it, it controls each LED at the same time . That is, the logo on top, the one on the side and the bar in front. But in RGB mode and not ARGB. I wanted to know if I connect a 3-pin ARGB cable from the GPU to my Mother, could I control all the ARGB leds on the GPU with the Signal RGB application or would it be exactly the same? Do you know if that port would independently control all the ARGB leds of my GPU? Thank you very much and great video!
The card has the pin, but no, I have asked before, it cannot be controlled by an external application, it has to be Precision. I wonder if they will release control soon since they no longer create GPU's... but I still use this card in my workstation, I love it. I tried signal about a year ago and it would not work with the card at all, interesting that it works now for the logo. Thanks so much for your kind words and support my friend it means the world to me. Also, I am doing well my friend, thanks so much for asking, how are you doing?
Nice videos and great work! Thank you very much :) I have a question please: Can I synch the EVGA GPU with the motherboard lights through the 5-pin header on the GPU?
I have to get back to that, when I tested no you could not, but I am working on the 6800 review at the moment, as soon as I am done with that, i will retest to make sure.
A couple months later and now there is version 1.1.4 of the Precision X1 software. Is it still recommended to download the 30-series ONLY version for firmware updates or have those been rolled into the newer updates as well?
Yes, update your Precision to the latest version and you can use that to update the firmware, many times though on the EVGA forum, they will post newer firmwares that may not be on precision yet.
Great video, love the content!!! I ended up settling for a 3070 ftw3, every other card was just way too pricey with stock uncertainty... think I made a good choice? Or did I screw myself?

What is the exact part number of your card, it would be on a sticker on the card or on the box. Its very important that you get it off of the card, not a picture you find online or guessing, its on the card or on the box, both. 08G-P5-3765-KL 08G-P5-3767-KL 08G-P5-3767-KR 08G-P5-3751-KL 08G-P5-3753-KL 08G-P5-3755-KL 08G-P5-3755-KR 08G-P5-3797-KL 08G-P5-3785-KL
can you give me the exact model name of your card, please do not be general, EVGA has 11 models, the model name for one of them is 24G-P5-3978-KR, the model name should be on a sticker on the card or on the box. I can help you if you give me that number.
I did the same procedure and when the card was updated the RGB is not working and I cannot control it either, which is recommended because the card is turning on three red lights above the power cable

Love your videos! Thanks for the big help, very underrated. Oh quick question, I have my fans only connected to the argb header of my gpu, the power is connected to my mobo header. Is this ok or would it be better to connect to the gpu header? What's the difference?
Thanks so much for your kind words my friend, it means the world to me and I am so very happy you are enjoying these videos and finding them beneficial. To your question, plugging anything to the card will utilize its sensors, like plugging anything into the board. So you are plugging in ARGB headers to the card, so you can utilize the ARGB functions from the card, the card controls that. Plugging in the fan to the motherboard, the motherboard will control that. That being said, you are plugging in the fan into the motherboard so the motherboard determines when that fan is needed and how much power should go into it, to cool any given portion of the case, depending on where its connected and where it thinks it is, same would go for the card. Now if you have the fan plugged into the card, and you are aiming the fan at the card, it would be best to plug the fan header into the card, because when the card needs that additional air, it will push that fan to help cool it. I hope this makes sense?
@@ThisBytesForYou Makes sense! I don't have say an additionnal fan to point to the GPU so I think it's better to leave them plugged to the mobo for power, and to the GPU for the argb. Very convenient that the GPU has this header for argb I will say, when I built my PC about 2 years ago (previous gpu was a 1660 super), I didn't realize argb was different than rgb, and my mobo didn't support my argb fans so I had to buy an adaptor and all... Not that big of a deal but when it's the last thing you put in the build and it doesn't work it's kinda disappointing! :P
@@maxfern5701 yup, I know exactly what you mean and I was a little clueless at first on RGB vs ARGB hahah, but no worries we get it at some point right ;) I hope this has helped you.

@@ThisBytesForYou yeah, I’ve tried multiple times. I deleted every file related to evga and tried reinstalling and when I try to open the app the precision X1 logo appears for a brief moment and disappears and the app never opens

@@emranroshan7366 well, personally I look at my computer when I am doing work on it, when I am editing video, playing a game, writing documents, looking at my screen so I don't really care what the RGB is doing. Precision as you see in this video can do a lot of what you want the other software to do, it might be a little out of sync for sure but not too bad. My 2 cents at least,
The front and side RGB on my 3080ti FTW3 suddenly stopped turning on during boot and I cannot get it to turn on with precision X1 either. Sometimes they work flawlessly and sometimes they do not. Any ideas how I could resolve this issue? I’m not sure if it is a software or hardware issue.
Well, maybe try uninstalling Precision X1 then reinstalling it and see if there is a firmware update for your card. If not, the only solution I would be able to recommend is to give EVGA a call, it happens. Hopefully they will allow you to do advanced RMA, you may need to put the money down for a new card, which will be on hold till they receive the older card, but still a great service.
you should be fine removing it from the control panel, just in case but afterwards, make sure you delete the left over directories, if they exist, for example Hidden "C:\Users\(your username here)\AppData\Local\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd" Visible "C:\Program Files\EVGA" "C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA"

Looks like the entire bar lights up versus just the logo like past generations. I wish we had the option to turn the bar off but just light the logo. I have a FTW3 hybrid arriving and I might just stick to the lower tier XC3 since not a huge fan of the entire bar lighting like that.
yeah, that does kind of suck, but no matter what, I still like it, I think its sexy, but of course everyone's likes and dislikes are different. However, you can black out the bar, leaving only the text visible, bu seems like a lot of work and I would be kind of scared to mess something up, its not a cheap card hahah.
My initial test showed it is not but as soon as I get back to this card, I am finishing up a review of the 6800 I will test again. I think it might be, but I have to try something different.

I just got my Evga 3070 ftw3 and the problem is I have everything corsair so if I use the Icue app and Evga app can there be a conflict issue between the 2 apps running ?
Good stuff my friend, no there will not be an issue if you use both, you are good, I run both. The EVGA software doesn't interact with icue because it's not connected through RGB.

yes, RGB Fusion and Icue are controllers, they control a large set of RGB functions, EVGA Precision, does not control anything but the video card, and EVGA will not allow the card to be controlled by any other than precision. I hope that helps.

@@ThisBytesForYou RIP I hope not. Thank you. Can I just uninstall the program from control panel or do I need to do anything special?
you should be fine removing it from the control panel, just in case but afterwards, make sure you delete the left over directories, if they exist, for example
Hidden
"C:\Users\(your username here)\AppData\Local\EVGA_Co.,_Ltd"
Visible
"C:\Program Files\EVGA"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA"

This works with the evga 3070 too right?
Depending on the model number
THANK YOUUUUUUUU!!!!!! I just got a 3070ti, and this worked perfectly to change the rgb on it! Super easy to use!
Awesome my friend, so very happy I could help you.
Can you get the RGB to work with your motherboard software?
As of right now that I have seen no, but I am looking into it. I will let you know as soon as I do.
@@ThisBytesForYou ok
It needs 3 individual 8pin vga cables right?
Did you see the video?
is there a way to make 2 static colours?
at the same time
not on one strip, if you unlink it, you can have different colors, in different sections.
Hello, is these GPU compatible with aura sync from Asus?
My initial test showed it is not but as soon as I get back to this card, I am finishing up a review of the 6800 I will test again. I think it might be, but I have to try something different.
Hi, may I ask if you know where I can get Powerlink for EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 or anything that will work Thank you!
only place I would know would be on EVGA's site, but it seems they are out: www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=600-PL-1648-LR
@@ThisBytesForYou hmm... ok thank you

for some reason this doesnt work with rtx 3090ti , is it because i use watercooling?
What is the manufacturer and part number of your card
@@ThisBytesForYou MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti BLACK TRIO 24G watercooled
@@MikkiZHskDK well 2 things, that's not the part number and it's an MSI card, this tool is only made for EVGA cards, since you have an MSI card you need to use afterburner, I will at some point make a video on that but I don't have any MSI cards.
@@ThisBytesForYou thanks for the reply, the reason why I asked you is because one time I used RGB Fusion and Icue then one of the 2 was conflicting with the other app and gave me the blue screen . I had to switch out my ssd with a new one and have a new windows install.
yes, RGB Fusion and Icue are controllers, they control a large set of RGB functions, EVGA Precision, does not control anything but the video card, and EVGA will not allow the card to be controlled by any other than precision. I hope that helps.
@@ThisBytesForYou yup thanks for the info 👍 😀
@@anthonymichael7336 always a pleasure my friend
could I plug an rgb hub to it? to control more than 1 fan?
not totally sure, I will hopefully test it soon.
question does their software but heads with nzxt cam? ran into a serious problem with my cooler and ram butting heads
it looks like it does, but you may want to check with support to verify, I don't want to tell you the wrong thing but supposedly msi afterburner does not, but this is from a year ago, so it may work today, I dont have any NZXT products to test with.
@@ThisBytesForYou okay thank you i think i’ll hold off that last situation was horrible especially with nzxt support response times

I have a dumb question. I already have evga precision downloaded but it’s been about a month since I downloaded it. How would I updated it?
I don't believe there is a way to update it, aside from downloading the newest version from the website.
the header from the graphics is only an output header? what happend if I connect it to mobo??
I have not tried it, I would not, but I have word from EVGA that it is output.

Can you change the text colour on the card? For example; can you make the “EVGA | GEFORCE RTX 3090” text like green and the background black?

Hey 👋 prior to my last comments I have a msi gaming x 1650 and for some reason it’s running at pcie x 8 1.1 and is over scaling on the boot screen and doesn’t work in windows
do you have any other pcie devices and do you have the first PCIE slot set to x16 Gen3 in the BIOS?
i have alot of Corsaire products, cant you control the rgb with the iCUE program?
yes, you should be able to, one RGB software to rule the all, you can only use 1 in a machine.
Is it possible to only light up the lettering and keep everything else off?
Have you checked out the video?
@@ThisBytesForYou yea I've rewatched it a couple of times. Maybe I'm just stupid lol I'll give it another watch
I would like to control the RGB from my motherboard with the connector from the FTW3. Is it possible ?
when I tried it did not work, I have to see if it working now since it has been out for a while and surely been updated
Hey, just wanted to say nice videos on the EVGA 3090.
From what I can see, your description still has a link for what I assume is your old case.
I see you're now rocking the Lian Li O11, I was just wondering if you were rocking the O11D or the O11 XL;
and if you could show some photos of the GPU and GPU power cable clearance with the side glass panal on, I believe you could find a number of new viewers/subs if you were to show the O11 case with the FTW3 as there is a lot of us with this case curious about fitment/cable clearance.
Thanks!
Thanks for reminding me my friend, your absolutely right I missed it, its the 011D, not the XL. I will be doing a completely new build with this, hopefully this week, so it is coming soon and I will fix up that link now. Thank you so much, I will be putting out a video later tonight I hope, and you will see the clearance, it is a bit tight actually, but it works.
@@ThisBytesForYou awesome, i have the pcmr O11 myself, look forward to it :)
@@Nietess cool, thanks my friend, yeah I updated here and on a few others to show "Lian Li o11 Dynamic by Der8auer: geni.us/hcYB ", it's such an awesome case.
Hi! Kind of hopeless here, I've tried everything but in my pc it wont let me control de RGB of my card (3080ti) and px1 only shows 2 of 3 fans. Im cool with the stock fan control (all 3 of them work) and the rainbow its something i can live with if the graphic cards continues to work propperly. But I would love to be able to control these things. HELP ME PLEASEEEE xd

Awesome my friend so very happy you enjoyed it.
can u connect the argb header to a motherboard so the mobo controls the lighting??
sadly no you cannot, I tried so hard but nothing.
Can you control the rgb on a Evga 3070?
Depends, I need the exact model number
another piece of software? So does too many programs mess things up? I already have ICUE for my corsair case and 6 fans and AIO for cpu. Then I have GSkill lighting control for the ram, and now just put in evga 3070Ti.. so I need percisionx1? so many rgb control programs, why cant it all be in one.....
nope, I run a ton too, sadly BUT with ICUE, it can manage the GKSKILL without having to run the GSKILL app all through ICUE, just not precision. Gigabyte/AORUS though, is another story, their software will mess up many others.
@@ThisBytesForYou
Oh it can run a Gskill Ram? I was just reading about ICUE 4, didn’t know if I should update software and firmware, I’m trying to find info if it will erase my settings, I have it set where everything is sinks, and I don’t want to have to redo it. Will updating reset everything? Do I update IQ from 3 to 4?
@@RC.56 yes, always update to the latest version when available, if it resets it.... I dont know to tell you. Regardless, you don't need to uninstall GSKILL since ICUE will install the IDK (I feel like I gave you the wrong acronym there, but I am watching another video at the same time,... brain not functioning) try ICU now and see about change the RAM, just close GSKILL.
do you have an overclocking vid for this card yet?
I dont, kinda wrapped up in another review, of which I will have some overclocking on this card too.... make sure you are subscribed and have the bell notification icon so you can see that video when is released. Thanks bud.

And no reason to apologize my friend, we all started off somewhere, some of us never started so that's great on you. Yeah, uninstalling and downloading and installing the latest version might help. Also, do you have any other RGB software installed?
Thank you for your help. I have just reinstalled the EVGA software again and still no luck. In regards to RGB software I have MSI Dragon Center and Icue as I haven’t found a way to link my entire systems yet. I have contacted EVGA and they’ve said I can RMA the card but the issue is I can send it off but I am reluctant to do so as I don’t have another GPU and that will leave me out of action for 2/3 weeks as an estimation. Or I can pay the collateral fee which is something I don’t have today to do. That’s a me problem opposed to anything else

Intel I9900k
EVGA FTW3 3080oc
MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC
Gigabyte P850gm 850w Gold
Corsair h100i
G Skill Trident 32GB 3600MHz DDR
I had to do it with the 2080, I just paid it because I knew I would get it right back and I did, though I know money is money. Try uninstaling all the other RGB software just for testing including the EVGA one, then reboot, go back in and install only the EVGA one, see if that helps?
does it work for the 3080 ti FTW3?
this is one on that card, check it out: ruclips.net/video/C-A-_OPLygM/видео.html
