      We're not just on the same page, but on the same sentence Sir😁 Many people complain about how "crap" the world is, but what do they do to improve it? Too many people enjoy making others miserable because they are in their lives. Now, we have young people that just don't know any better, because they have no moral compass. Bad parenting and social media have contributed to that in my opinion. At any rate, living a positive and productive life has always been its own reward. You know that as do I. It has been my pleasure to interact with you, and thank you again for your contributions. Stay well. 😊

      so im going to be doing like a whole upgrade to my pc. im going to be putting this gpu in. im going to be swapping my motherboard and cpu from amd to intel. so basically the only thing that ill be keeping from my current build is the ssd now will i be losing all my data on that ssd? like windows and all my installed games, videos and pictures because im swapping the motherboard and cpu? or will all that still be on there? im just trying to do my research before i do anything. i seen a video and he said something about losing all data on the ssd when swapping cpu and motherboards. but he didnt say anything more about it. so im just wondering if you have any information on that?

      Well yes and no. So you "can" simply move your drive over and it "should" work but you will have a ton of issues and your PC will be slow. You are changing over architectures, full HAL changes and windows wont be happy with that.
      Grab yourself another drive, and copy all your data to another drive or have this drive as a secondary drive. I highly recommend you plug in a new drive, they are DIRT cheap now, A 2TB M.2 drive, but you can select one of the other 3 on there and they are cheap, off of my Amazon affiliate link: geni.us/FlAJF but if you dont have m.2 slots, you can just pick up a WD blue, they are great off of my Amazon affiliate link: geni.us/OPb2Y1T.
      From there install windows 10 or 11 (this video will show you how to make the windows 10 thumb drive free: ruclips.net/video/C759I7DBXd8/видео.html and this video will show you how to install it ruclips.net/video/sNtlz1EoWBM/видео.html, and this video will show you how to make the Windows 11 thumb drive free and install it ruclips.net/video/ayp8TksEtoY/видео.html)

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  2 года назад +2

      @@codynathaniel1961 it is not "needed" but it is highly recommended, imaging having a straw and drinking out of it, but popping holes into it, so that your friends can stick straws into those holes and drink with you, your not going to get the same amount of drink, the same goes with power. The G6 has 6x 8pin (6+2), which means you "should" have at least 3 separate cables, with each branching off into 2, so you should be able to plug 1 PCIE cable into 1 pcie connector without having to daisy chain it. You are spending so much on the video card, treat it right.

    Just came across your page. You do a fantastic job of explaining things at the perfect pace. Quality content, and very easy to understand. Thank you sir! subscribed & liked 🙏🏼😊 I got two MSI 3080 Ti GAMING Trio coming in, so I needed this video.
    Question for you brotha…
    Would you recommend me upgrading from a 3080 to a 3080 Ti? Or you think 3080 is more than enough ? Thanks again!

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 года назад +2

      Awesome my friend, I am SOOOOO very happy that not only you enjoyed the videos, but found them beneficial, it means so much to me that you actually took a second out of your day to stay by and say thank you, it really does. Thanks also for the like and sub, you are amazing my friend ;)
      Sooo, the TI is NICE, but no, it definitely not worth an update from a 3080 to a 3080ti, you would gain 2 extra gigs of memory, unnoticeably faster GPU, a few mghz but the memory would have a higher bandwidth, but stepping away from specs, gaming wise, there's not a huge difference, not a server hundred dollar difference anyway, so no, stick with your 3080 and maybe wait for the next gen, my opinion at least.

    • @FPScustom
      @FPScustom 3 года назад +1

      @@ThisBytesForYou Thank you bro! Appreciate the kind words and thank you for taking the time to respond. Also, thank you for the response regarding the GPU upgrade, that does makes sense. I got lucky and ordered a pre built pc with EVGA 3080 XC3 from Best Buy last October, so it’s been a beast. I considered making a second PC with the 3080 Ti and keeping the 3080 pc for streaming. Do you think that’s necessary or should the 3080 be powerful enough to run high frames and stream simultaneously?
      ** my pre built is a intel i9 10850 with now 32GB of RAM

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 года назад +2

      I think your system is very powerful, BUT, a secondary system is always better, 100%, but you don't need to go all hard core with it either, my opinion at least. And always a pleasure my friend, so happy I could help, if you don't mind, please make sure to click like and subscribe, I have new content coming out all the time and more soon, actually I am very backed up, need to get a bunch of videos out.

    i was so happy when EVGA ditched the red lips on the end of the card, now i just need to wrap my brain around the thought process of leaving the red strip across it cause as someone whos very picky about their color schemes its such a turn off to me.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 года назад +5

      the color and the strip just don't bother me, I mean, you look at the screen not the inside of your PC, I mean most of the time anyway. It might bug a little at first, but I would think you would get over it. Though, it is a red strip, can be easily covered with a sharpie or something, not much to me really. I am not everyone though, so of course I get that you may not like it.

    Hi, thank you so much for this helpful video. Just 1 question for anyone who can answer, I think this is normal but I want to make sure since I've seen posts about red light. I have this exact rtx 3080ti, got it about 2 weeks ago, since I first put it in my computer each time my computer is off and I power it on I see 4 little red lights above the power connectors flash for not even a second when starting the comp. All the RGB on the 80TI work perfect and no issues with the card so far but I want to make sure when I see these 4 lights flash for a split second on startup is a normal thing. I have 3 separate cables running to it for each 8 pin and my PSU is 850W.

    Hi, I upgraded from Dual GTX 980 TI FTW cards running in SLI to a single RTX 3080 TI FTW3 Ultra. The installation went great and your video not only turned me on to the DDU utility but answered my question on powering the new card. One question I have is selecting performance over quality in the Nvidia Control settings. Why exactly are you doing that? My system has three monitors, but the main monitor is not quite 4K at 3440x1440@100hz. With the dual GTX980 TIs I could run most games on the next to highest settings with reasonable performance(45 - 65fps) depending on the game. I upgraded because the 980's were getting a little long in the tooth from a technology standpoint but also because with newer games I found they didn't provide quite enough video memory to run them on the highest settings. So in a way, I guess you could say I upgraded to increase graphics quality which brings me back to my performance vs quality question. I get changing those settings for the older GTX 980 tis but don't understand why one would need to go in that direction on a card that has twice the video memory and about 10 times the processing power, please provide additional detail on going the performance route over visual quality and why that is a recommendation for all builds and gamers. Thanks.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  2 года назад +2

      force of habit really, as a product development engineer at Alienware (before dell bought us), then Dell after they bought us and Velocity Micro, I did everything i could to squeeze performance out of the system, EVERYTHING, even if it was .5 FPS, I did it. Back in the day of the 980, it made a HUGE different, today... not so much. Thanks so much for your kind words on the guide, it really does mean a ton to me and so happy you like DDU, its done me right for a few years now. I hope that helps my friend.

    Regarding the three 8-pin PCIE, you said not to use the daisy-chained, and used individual PCIE cables straight from the PSU. Why? I am currently using the 2 daisy-chained cables for my 3080 ti, and I am not having any issues at all, even was able to OC to 2070 MHZ and memory to 9612 MHZ and bumped power target to 113. Do you recommend I use 3 separate 8-pin cables?

    • @ThisBytesForYou

      I state that because NVIDIA stated it, also I had a viewer either on this video or another 3080/3090 video of mine state that he daisy chained it before and it killed his card, not sure why, but he said it, but regardless, if NVIDIA recommends it, I would take that to heart for sure. Nice overclock btw, separate connectors might actually pull you a better overclock.

      always a pleasure my friend, happy I could help. Totally up to you how you connect them, but after spending so much on the card, I especially for the fact you are overclocking it... why would you want to potentially rob the card of power. My advice, plug 3 separate cables in from the power supply, but again, you can do what you like.

    Hey, I have a question for you; I just recently got a EVGA RTX 3080Ti graphic card and upon checking it out I notice it had (3) 8 pin plugs, so I bought a new Balm Bush GR Burst GR 850 Gold power supply to feed it, so I bought a new 12VHPWR cable with (3) 8 pin plugs (JOY JOM 12VHP UPPLY (Type B) and a 90 degree 12VHPWR plug on the other end, but there is a problem; the (3) 8 pin plugs does not physically (almost, but not quite fit) the outlets on the GPU card !! Do I have the wrong cable? Also the plugs don't appear to to be fully loaded, that is, some of the cables are missing from the plugs, like the two last holes are empty. I don't know if there is a difference between the Type A or the type B or the Type 1 or the Type 2????? Please advise so that I can finish this build. Thank you much!!!! Emilio

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  3 месяца назад +1

      The 3080TI does not use the 12VHPWR, it didn't exist when the card came out, so you will need to use only PCIE connections. The problem is your power supply reads that it has 4 PCIE 6+2 connections, and while there are 4 PCIE connections on the power supply and 2 CPU-EPS connections maybe, because there are all the same its hard to tell, since it doesn't show the cables. You want 3 cables from the power supply, 3 PCIE cables connect directly to the power supply and 3 to the video card, its OK if you use a cable that splits into 2 cables, just don't use the 2nd connection, like I show you in this video, I hope you watched it, I use the same card, I show you everything in this video.

    As an owner of the same lian li case and ftw3 3080ti, I can tell you with a 100% certainty that the side panel will NOT go back on. The card is EXTREMELY wide and the power cables will stick out and prevent the glass from sliding into the case. Then from the cooler design the fan will blow hot air directly onto the glass if you manage to squeeze the glass on. This messes with thermals pretty bad. I just decided to run the card without the panel lol

I’ve had mine run with 1 8 pin and a daisy chained 2 headed 8 pin for both slot 2 and 3. I’m not saying your wrong at all because we all build different, I’m just curious as to why you made it a big statement that it must be connected that way, and not daisy chained. With the money you spent on the card, I would give it proper power, my recommendation for it, but that's up to you.
      as for making cables like that, Pre 30 series that was fine, cards didn't require the amperage the 30 series does and many power supplies can't hand it, maybe yours is great, I can't say but again, I wouldn't play with it.

    Hey I got a question - which power connection cable do I need to buy for the 3080ti ?
    is it 12pin-to-2x8 pin and 6pin-to-1x8 pin ?

      you don't need to buy one, you need one to come with your power supply. You don't need 2, you need 3. What is the manufacturer and model number of your power supply?
