@@ThisBytesForYou i would also like to ask you, if you are overclocking expert, i put bios OC, i tried to put some coreclock + 100mhz, but the gpu doesn't go beyond 1950mhz boost frequency, it really should go to 2050mhz, but it goes for a few seconds and then it comes back. i ask you why i'm waiting for the waterblock ek, and i'm not used to having the air-cooled gpu, and my thought is that it swings so why the weakening comes in due to the temperature, possible? thank you

This was actually super useful. Nobody else covers this app like this that I have found so far. My fans were not turning on at all and I had been sitting at 54°C wondering when they'd kick in. Now I'm chillin at 27°C after watching how to set fan curves
Always a pleasure my friend, so very happy you stopped by, trusted in me to help you, liked and subbed as well as took a moment out of your day to thank me. It means a ton to me and I am so very happy I could help you. Thats why I made this video, I hate the 0db feature they have, that the fans turn on only when it hits 60°C, I think it's stupid, I want my fans to always be on keeping it nice and cool, maybe not spinning so quickly, but still on, if they are off, then kick on, you hear a little click, and that is even more annoying, to me at least. So happy I could help you.
That is by design though with the normal non-overclock bios. It's designed to fan stop below a certain temperature to allow your PC to be silent whenever you are not gaming. The idle temp will sit around 50 - 55c during fan stop and that's perfectly fine. Having the idle temp drop to 27c with fans on really makes no menaingful difference as it's only cool like that at idle. Once you game, temps will be similar between both bios options except for the OC bios will attempt to push higher clocks by allowing more power. Having said all that, I personally just run the normal bios and then enable a fixed fan speed of 33% which keeps the idle temp at 30c and climbs to between 70c and 80c in gaming depending on which game it is. I think fans ramping up and down with different load is far more annoying than anything else. And anything above 50% is plain loud and annoying.
But maybe he prefers it to be cooler, my videos gives people options that might now know. Personally I don't want my fans off at all but running slowly at least.
Thank you for this video, had this card over a year and had heating issues and had to undervolted through MSI afterburner to get the temps down to 80 when playing games. I just bought this card and was worried that it was running extremely hot. I uninstalled MSI afterburner and installed precision X1. My card was running at max, but then I realized that I had not changed it to normal in the Nvidia control panel. I've been playing RDR2 at ultra and it really makes this card work. Going to make these changes and hopefully, things will work out. I appreciate your guide. It was thoroughly informative. If you're ever in the Boogie Down Bronx, I'll be happy to get you a cup of Cafe.
Thanks bud, I go up every so often, I have family in queens, though i think they moved to the country side, not 100% sure, I live in Virginia. always a pleasure my friend, I love to help and I am so happy i could help. The 3080 TI is a beast, EVGA' clamps it down as the ultra powerful FTW3, and its such a great card. Thanks my friend, and i hope to see you around some more of the videos here.
What was your card running at? My card limit it 83c but I have seen it hit 86c Some posters have said their card has never seen 70c Can’t figure out why my card is running so hot.
Supposedly, but I wouldn't recommend it. You have to imagine, people much smarter than us on this front have carefully made these changes in the firmware to make everything work perfectly. They have tweaked and tuned everything to not only work, but maybe be a little ahead of what is expected to catch the unexpected, many times that it why the voltage is a little higher. Many times lower the voltages helps cool down the card, but for some reason now you are getting weird bluescreens and many people blame the card, but it is infact what they have done to the card that has caused the issue. My recommendation is to leave it alone, provide the card with adequate cooling and you will be fine. Thanks so much for your kind words and I hope I have helped.
Cool video, so I have a question about the power cables that connects into the GPU. I have the same graphics card as you and there are three eight pin slots. So you mentioned not to daisy chain that power supply cables. What do you mean by that and what happens if you do? I think I have 2 (6+2) pins cables and 1 pcie splits in 2 (6+2) heads.🤔 how do I find the right cable for the power supply to break it into three separate cables?
If you have 3 cables, then you have 3 PCIE connections, if you have 3 cables and those cables extend to more cables, don't use the extensions. Thats like having a straw and you want to share the drink with your friends, so you pop a hole in your straw and have your friends put their straws in the hole and you all drink... you are going to get less drink and so are they.

Same boat as you just ordered one last night. Even though I usually get strix cards I’m not paying 200-300 more plus evga has the best support of any gpu company. I liked the aorus card but gigabytes customer support is about as good as asrock( non existent)
As far as I know, you can max the voltage slider as well. It doesn't actually increase the voltage, it just gives the card the ability to increase it as needed in an overclocking situation for example. I got this information from another video I watched almost a year ago, what do you think?
yes, you can raise the slider without risking killing the card, but it does freak me out still hahah. Its not that it pushes that much voltage through it, its that it allows you to utilize that much voltage safely.
Awesome my friend, so very happy you stopped by and enjoyed the video, Chile, always wanted to go there, my first girlfriend was from Chile, sounded like an awesome place
thanks for this , i just built myself a pc n a member of a group i'm in was saying i should undervolt it which was kinda gibberish to me , knowing what these built in setting do is at least helpful, i'll probably toss it on aggressive instead of playing with everything.
well, problem is undervolting is trendy right now and it will be for a little longer, I don't undervolt. Undervolting is actually nice, but is lowering the voltage where the product might need to be, so you might experience random bluescreens and such, sometimes you won't hit that bluescreen for a long time and then people blame it on other things, not their overclock (undervolting is also considered overclocking). Also, this is another video you might want to check out, it could help you tons. ruclips.net/video/J5m5WBlPkfc/видео.html

Hey man I have the same case as you, under a good load mine is getting up to 80c at some points, and that seems awfully high, I’m just curious what your average temps are on the high end? And do you think these cards are able to safely handle that type of temperature?

CPU - manufacturer and exact model number 3. RAM - manufacturer and exact model number 4. Video Card - manufacturer and exact model number 5. Power supply - manufacturer and exact model number 6. Monitor - manufacturer and exact model number Redundant I know, but many people forget to enter manufacturer and exact model number 7. @@ThisBytesForYou Hey, Jarhead. Thought you might be interested. I received my EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra this past Monday and as I opened it on the kitchen counter, a small piece of something landed on the counter top. It's a silver looking color, about 1/8th inch wide, less long and has a definitive shape like maybe a component used on a circuitboard. Took a picture, opened a service ticket and requested an RMA replacement. It is possible that it was just "fluff" from the factory during packaging, but I'm not comfortable with installing it. Wish me luck. Best to all.
Its also worth noting , like many high end Ampere cards this stupidly uses around 100watts "more" squeezing's out literally the last few % in performance. If you correctly undervolt you can usually trade a tiny 0-3% performance while hugely lowering heat, power usage and noise(fan RPM). If you have heat issues you can actually "gain" performance from undervolting, either way its not worth leaving these cards running at stock.
You are right my friend, though I don't have any thermal issue, as my house is usually at 63°F (17.22°C) though these methods have helped. I plan on working more versions to help in cooling, and yes, fixing thermals and voltages can give you huge gains. Thanks so much for stopping by.
I have a 5950x ,Kracken x72 cooler, x570 crosshair viii hero mb, 4x8gb 3600mhz ram, 2 1tb nvme gen 3 ssd’s, strix 2080ti, and 6 140mm fans with an evga p2 750 watt psu. But I’m scared it won’t be enough for the evga ftw3 3080ti especially if I overclock the cpu and gpu. What kinda full system power draw are you getting? I think it would be fine it’s a quality psu but I’ve also thought about picking up a 12900k so I might just get a 1000 psu.
The card requires a 650Watt power supply, in a full system (not 650 on its own) on a 5950, I would think you would be pulling close to 500Wattsm but you would be playing with the efficiency. I will be building a new system very soon on here, I will take you along for the ride, stay tuned and in there I will do some power reading as well. For me, I always go 1000Watts or higher, sure it might be too much today, but I bought my 1200Watt 10 years ago, never had to replace it, people that buy just what the card needs, upgrade every year or so, save money and go bigger.... although with newer cards on the market in september, they may introduce a new connector, which there are adapters for, but I will see what they have then.

you could, but I would not, open air means air doesn't get to where it should, my recommendation at least and thanks so much for your support, it means the world to me.
yeah, I would not mount any GPU veritcally, it gets hot because it does not have enough room to breath. compare temperatures with and without the side panel. The GPU fan has to work soooooooo much harder when vertically mounted.

@@ThisBytesForYou I figured it out from a another video, all I had to do was search for 3070 overclocking on here to see where other people were landing. and a fan pinout, so you can connect PWM fans and control the RGB and fan through the software, pretty nice. @@hamsadbecerra3701 it mainly depends on your ambient temperature in your house and I. Your machine but those temps are fine, watching videos uses your GPU
@ThisBytesForYou Question! I just got this card, what are the best undervolt settings? Also EVGA's product page is saying Total Power Draw : 350 Watts, but if you look at techpowerups review they have it at 434 Watts while gaming, i have an EVGA SuperNOVA 750watt G3 power supply and i am concerned if it will be enough, i thought maybe if i undervolted and/or set a lower power limit i would be fine?
smart of you to be concerned my friend, on EVGA's site it states a Minimum of a 750 Watt power supply, Minimum... That means the system it was tested with had the basics, one drive, a standard processor, motherboard, 1 or 2 sticks of ram and that's about it. In the real world, systems have 2 or more drives, a decent CPU, 4 sticks of RAM, and maybe some other extra's even worse if you are overclocked. Also, this has 3 PCIE 8Pins, NVIDIA recommends that you plug in one PCIE cable each, not daisy chained, which is horrible. On the EVGA forums its a mixed choice, but I say you can't go wrong with 1 per 8Pin, I use a 1000Watt G3. As for undervolt, I don't use that yet, i may test it at some point but I am so backed up on reviews, make sure you are subscribed and have the notification bell clicked (a like doesn't hurt either ;) ), I think you may enjoy this mondays video, stay tuned my friend.

Have you tried undervolting yet? I’m running mine 0.900V at 1905Mhz and seeing a significant temp drop, 200 less fan RPM, and 70 watts less power consumption. My timespy graphics score went from 19,700 to 20,300 as well.
wow, no I have not, but I plan to, since my previous system kind of fell apart, I am very far behind on reviews, I am playing catchup. Please do subscribe and click on the bell notification so you stay notified of everything I release. Thanks for stopping by my friend.
@@ThisBytesForYou I’ve done a lot of monitoring while running Timespy, Firestrike, and Unigine Valley and what I’ve found is that the card can’t sustain 1905Mhz boost clock as it becomes power limited at 400 watts and the frequency pulls back to 1875-1890Mhz. With the undervolt now you’re not power limited and the frequency never drops below 1905Mhz and at times boosts even to 1920Mhz. Stock fan rpm was 1770, 71% fan speed, temps 76C, 86C, and 83C. With the undervolt fan rpm is now 1570, 67% fan speed, temps 69C, 82C, 77C with a 4-5FPS boost in Timespy! I just use the stock vBIOS as I appreciate fan stop.

Not a stupid question at all, that is a potential but one that we might share, the noise doesn't bother me, I prefer to have my card cool. But if your fans need to be running so fast all the time to keep them cool, you have other thermal issues. What is your ambient temperature in the house?
In a jaytwocent video was stating to use 3 separate cables for each of the pins in the card , gives a better power distribution to the card .... any feedback on that?

Thanks for the reply though nonetheless. Ps I seen you card was at 25 degrees the entire video that’s why I asked.
perfect, i reply like that to many people, because the answers are in the video, that they are asking, like when you asked about the temp, i ask back the question so that you can second guess yourself and watch the video, like you went back and verified and found the temperatures I referred to. So quick question. I set up my fan curves preset to stealth however, do I need to have precision x1 program on for the preset to be set or does the app automatically read the fan curves I choose whenever I boot up my pc?
Precision is for the video card, your motherboard isn't controlled by it, unless maybe you have an EVGA board. The BIOS would control everything on the motherboard, precision would control the video card.
@@ThisBytesForYou so whenever I boot up my pc would I need to have start with OS checked for the fans to be initiated instead of having to open precision everyday and leaving it minimized for the fans to stay set? So sorry my guy never used this so it’s new to me but I learned a lot of the curve settings from this vid!
@@darko_0682 no worries my friend, I am here to help. Yes, I HIGHLY recommend you have it set to start with OS, minimized so it can adjust as need be but are you finding your system too hot?
So last I checked, it’s gpu temp currently consistent at 60 degrees but whenever I’m running like a game with high settings it goes up 80 and the fan tends to be a little loud.
My question is which direction does the air flow? Do the fans pull in cool air and push it in to the radiator or do they pull hot air from the radiator and exhaust in to the case?
you want cool air coming in from the front, ideally, you want regular fans in the front, as the air would be unobstructed allowing more air in, but that's not always possible. With that said, in this system, I have fans blowing in from the front of the case, sucking cool air in, then 3 other fans on the side, sucking cool air in. The radiator is sucking air out, exhausting "hot" air from the case but since I have so many fans blowing in, there is little to no hot air, so it is still pulling cool air, even if I were to overclock, it would pull in cool air, cooling itself. I have the rear fan also exhausting.
@@ThisBytesForYou Thanks for the reply and the info. I may have been unclear with my question though. I meant do the fans on the gpu suck cool air in to the gpu radiator or pull hot air away from the gpu radiator?
@@animalmother3526 ahhh I see, the gpu fan sucks cool air from the bottom of the case, in through the heatsink and sometimes out the back, where the hdmi/dp ports are or out back int the case, but above where the fans go
@@ThisBytesForYou excellent. Thank you. Been struggling with cooling my new 3080ti ftw3 a little bit. I got a microcenter bare bones build with a titan x? Case. Its setup for cpu water cooling which I have not set up yet but the front and side panels are solid glass/acrylic. Also cant mount a fan on the rear at all. Generally seems like a bad case for air flow but I got 2 intake fans below the gpu and one on the side/bottom, 3 exhaust fans on the top where the radiator(included with case) is and one extra exhaust on the top/side. I'm using some old fans but gpu temps are in 60- low 70's C usually (default clock and voltage settings). I have space for one more fan on the side. I also have space for one more on the bottom/center but there is some cabling connected to the mobo in the way that prevents me from puting the fan in there. Is it better to use this software as opposed to msi afterburner? My card has been running extremely hot with msi afterburner, (75C @ ~70% utilization). I’ve been even contemplating replacing the thermal paste and adding additional thermal pads to the back of the PCB and connecting to the backplate for additional heat sinking. Do you know if the firmware installer updates the actual vbios? Or does it only update the fan controllers? I appreciate this video since I recently purchased this exact same card and have it set to the “OC” vbios, and it’s insanely frustrating how the card will gain a substantial amount of temperature for being fps capped @ 1080p.
@@ThisBytesForYou Sorry, I should’ve initially stated that it is the exact same card as this video’s (EVGA 3080 Ti Ultra ftw3). However, after following your process and updating the firmware, I used the OC scanner, and found that I was able to achieve the exact same thermal performance @ ~ +100Mhz (MSI afterburner went up to 75C @ ~1905Mhz). So my card is reaching that 75C thermal fps cap limit on precision X1, at a more efficient rate when topping off at 1995-2005Mhz. So whatever precision installed/updated for me, resolved a major concern for me. Don’t know if I should even consider replacing the thermal paste at this point. This is quite the significant difference, and I wonder if other EVGA 30-series cards could see a benefit when moving over to precision from afterburner. Ideally, I could even lower the OC a small amount for substantial thermal and acoustic performance gains.
@@joselaba Precision is made by EVGA, the people that made your card, they are going to know better what their card needs than MSI, people that make their own NVIDIA based cards. Precision updates the firmware for EVGA cards, MSI cannot do that. You could achieve much better, but you have to find out how thick the thermal pads are on the card if not you could severely negatively affect performance. I think a better idea is to leave it alone, let it do its thing. Adjust the fans in your case, to provide overall better airflow in the case which will provide better cooling for the card and drop the temperature in your house, if you have the heater on, things get hotter.
@@ThisBytesForYou oh yeah I agree. It’s just extremely strange to see such a drastic change in thermal performance (arguably the 2nd most important characteristic of GPU Cards) from a firmware update of an OC/monitoring piece of software. Thermals we’re so bad that I was even considering installing an entire dedicated water loop for my card since my 12900k is utilizing an AIO like your setup. I also can’t help but wonder if these same thermal characteristics would remain the same, since it’s a firmware update, and transfer over to MSI afterburner. Also, I was under the impression that afterburner is a universal piece of software, and could be used as an efficient OC-tool/monitor.
@@ThisBytesForYou Regardless, thank you for posting this video. Like I said, I wouldn’t have ever guessed that precision would provide such a crucial firmware update.

What is the ambient temperature in your house? yes, when you raise the speed of the fans, the noise will increase. The ambient temperature in your room will ALWAYS affect the temperature inside the machine. See if this video helps you: ruclips.net/video/J5m5WBlPkfc/видео.html

The front fans seem to be a bit lower than in the video, but that's a limitation of the case design. I can only say that if you open the lid, the temperature will drop and quite naturally, although not quickly. fans are one of the most efficient on the market, the front wall is mesh, by all rules I should get acceptable temperatures, but for some reason this does not happen

Is this safe for this particular card? I have been looking for the manufacturer temp information for this card but I have not been able to find it. Any information would really help and or suggestions. I have only the case stock fans in and I have an air cooled CPU Ryzen 7 5800x. Noctua NH-U12S
I am usually at 17c, I like it nice and cold, so does a PC. While 23c is not bad, it gets amplified inside of a case, since depending on your fan positioning and the amount of fans you have, hot air is being trapped. While I have an H510 in the box, I haven't touched it yet, it looks like a thermal nightmare, every one I see has to remove side panel, probably better to remove the front glass, horrible design. As long as you have 2 fans in the front, blowing air in, a rear fan sucking air out and the top fan sucking air out... you should be ok. I am in the process of making a bunch of videos, but I will be making one for the 3080ti like this, this will help you and it will also update the firmware on the card: ruclips.net/video/uO351_LhGh8/видео.html, let me know how it helps.
3060XC is a great card, but yeah, they skipped out on all the features, pretty odd step. 4K is overrated at the moment, cards can do it, but not as well as they should in most games. Maybe 4xxx or the 3xxx supers "coming" out.
So I updated my card, did everything, opened precision x1, and when I’m looking at card I’m seeing nothing interaction. I slide fan speed and no rpm’s are registering, I’m at a loss
So that I can help, please list the manufacturer and exact model number of the following components: 1. Motherboard - manufacturer and exact model number 2. CPU - manufacturer and exact model number 3. RAM - manufacturer and exact model number 4. Video Card - manufacturer and exact model number 5. Power supply - manufacturer and exact model number 6. For this high level 30XX cards i use undervolting, without any FPS lost and no more noise and heat . Im using Msi afterburner for that. Easy to do with.
@@adamu6941 also, if you have good cooling, you don't need to undervolt a card because it can cause potential bluescreens and other errors since it is running beneath manufacturer specs
@@ThisBytesForYou yes you are right. About cooling, i have a question. As you know i just mounted my Arctic, running good now, 35 on iddle and 65 on full, a great score for this 5800X3D that i have. But on my case, the BeQuiet Silent base 802, I had to mount my radiator vertically, and the pipe outlets up. I've seen quite a few videos that said it wasn't a problem, but not ideal, what do you think?
@@adamu6941 well, it does not cool as well since it will not suck up as much water, potentially and will reduce the lifespan of your pump. Now, many of use won't have the unit for 5+ years, so it doesn't really mater, but the hoses have to be at the same height or below the pump to be effect, or at the top of the unit, bubbles and noise and all from working harder.

Hey man love the content 🔥
Quick question is Undervolting safe ?
I have 3080 ti evga XC3
Thats like having a straw and you want to share the drink with your friends, so you pop a hole in your straw and have your friends put their straws in the hole and you all drink... you are going to get less drink and so are they.
was wondering why this card was at 55 C while idle now its at 25 C thank you so much!

Nice video !! Regards from Chile.

4. Video Card - manufacturer and exact model number
5. Power supply - manufacturer and exact model number
6. Monitor - manufacturer and exact model number
Redundant I know, but many people forget to enter manufacturer and exact model number
7. Do you have ALL of the PCIE connections plugged in, and not daisy chained or pigtailed, each coming directly from the power supply?
8. Are you running through HDMI, DP, DVI, VGA, any adapters?
9. UEFI in the BIOS from Legacy. If it was set to Legacy, you will need to reinstall windows to get correct support.
10. Disable CSM in the BIOS
11. Installed latest supported chipset driver?

For me, I always go 1000Watts or higher, sure it might be too much today, but I bought my 1200Watt 10 years ago, never had to replace it, people that buy just what the card needs, upgrade every year or so, save money and go bigger.... although with newer cards on the market in september, they may introduce a new connector, which there are adapters for, but I will see what they have then.

i got a 1060 sc from evga sadly no rgb but the programm helps me to get my temps down to like 30celcius yeah i know thats not low but i let the single fan spin infinitly just when i start the pc i let him rest then the programm starts normally and lets the fan spinn up have a nice day
that temperature is great, no issues what so ever, you can get it lower, but its great. I hope you have a nice day too.

Interesting this card has a RGB pinout on it. Did not know that. Somewhere on the card is a power saver / overclocking switch which I could probably see if I weren't totally blind. As in get a check from the government every month for being blind blind.
and a fan pinout, so you can connect PWM fans and control the RGB and fan through the software, pretty nice. Nice about the check, but not so much about the blindness, my mom is also legally blind, not totally, but has horrible vision, after COVID, my vision has gone to crap too, sucks. Toward the front of the card there is a little switch.

My timespy graphics score went from 19,700 to 20,300 as well.

as for the improvement in scores, do you think that could be due to heating, have you checked the temps before and after?
@@ThisBytesForYou I’ve done a lot of monitoring while running Timespy, Firestrike, and Unigine Valley and what I’ve found is that the card can’t sustain 1905Mhz boost clock as it becomes power limited at 400 watts and the frequency pulls back to 1875-1890Mhz. With the undervolt now you’re not power limited and the frequency never drops below 1905Mhz and at times boosts even to 1920Mhz.
Stock fan rpm was 1770, 71% fan speed, temps 76C, 86C, and 83C.

I'm using some old fans but gpu temps are in 60- low 70's C usually (default clock and voltage settings). I have space for one more fan on the side.
What is the manufacturer and model number of your card?
Have you tried connecting the computer to an HDMI 2.1 tv. I get audio drop outs connected to an LG B9 and it seems to be a common problem with hdmi 2.1 PC connections, but I don't see many videos on it.

I guess not
@@ThisBytesForYou Sorry for the late reply. I have 2 HDMI 2.1 cables. Bought a new one just in case. No matter what I switch the sound to (Stereo, 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos) there is a problem. I only get stereo on the 5.1 or 7.1 sound and Dolby drops.

Dear Valued LG Customer, We appreciate you for patiently coordinating with us regarding the current condition of your LG OLED65C9PUA TV,. It is our goal to ensure that you are able to utilize your LG product at its fullest potential so let us assist you with your inquiry today. We thank you for getting back to us regarding your case. In response, we are aware of these recent reports where TV displays no signal, blinking or flickering video when using NVIDIA RTX3090, RTX3080, RTX3070, G-SYNC, VRR. This is caused by TV not supporting signal of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30XX video cards. In this case, we do recommend disabling GSYNC on the PC and Disable HDMI Ultra HD Deep color on the TV while waiting for the official update to resolve this to be released in the end of November for 2019 LG TV models. Please see below: 1. Click the right mouse button on the Windows 10 background - Go to NVIDIA control panel. - Display - Set up G-Sync - Uncheck the “Enable G-Sync” option 2. If you cannot se the PC screen: Change the TV settings - All Settings - Picture - Additional Settings - HDMI Ultra HD Depp color -OFF However, if turning off G-SYNC is not acceptable, you can participate in the public review program of the firmware update. Just to set proper expectations, this public preview program software is yet nearing completion and unexpected bugs and glitches may occur. The installed public preview version will be upgraded automatically as soon as the update is ready. Another thing, once this public beta is installed to your TV software, there is no way for you to roll back to your previous software version. Additionally, this update is to solely address the reports concerning the NVIDIA RTS 30XX reports. No other improvements were planned and you are discouraged to participate if you are a non-RTS 30 user. Lastly, it may take up to five business days to get the software update after you apply for the beta program. Thanks for the update. I did try turning off G-Sync but still had the problem. It only affects audio. I did not try turning off HDMI Ultra HD Depp color. I hope there is an update in November for the B9. Again thanks for the great work and the video about how to install the Graphics card. It really helps alot.
So, I went ahead and update the firmware, and adjusted the fan speed on the card. The temp has not gone over 55 degrees. I should adjust lower right? Or is that good?
Great info. Thank you kindly!
so it's a little hotter than mine, but it should still be good. You need to make sure you have good overall cooling in your system, also I like to keep my house nice and cool, usually at 63°F (17.2°C) so that helps cooling tremendously. The cooler the ambient temperature is, the cooler your system will be.
Change thermal paste and thermal pad for the backplate. This stuff doesn’t work in the long term
At some point
hi there, i have noticed your fans are spining 37% @ auto settings. I am using EVGA 3080 FTW3 and at the same settings, my fans dont spin and GPU reaches 50-60c. Is that a concern?
I was playing around a lot with the fans and fan curves during the video, but for the to start spinning at 60c is 100% normal. Make sure you update the firmware on the cards as well.
Great tutorial once again! Got this up & running fairly quick after following your GPU installation guide. I have NZXT fans powered from a HUB. Is there a way to sync these fans through the hub with the card? Hub uses USB 2.0 on the MOBO & sata cable to power the hub.
sadly no, not for EVGA cards, its either through precision or through NZXT;'s software and Precision is limited, so I would suggest getting precision to match what the NZXT is doing as close as possible.

Does it work with GeForce RTX 2060
What is the manufacturer and model number/part number of your card, I need for you to be exact.
Dude, have you had any issues installing that GPU on that motherboard?
I recently bought an RTX 3080 FTW Ultra and I can't install it properly on my pc.
It loads Windows normally then I proceed to install Nvidia drivers then I get BSOD right away.
Thought I had bad GPU but it's not the case. Tested it on my brother's computer and it went all well on the first driver install.
Any clue on what might be?
Specs:
MSI MEG X570 ACE
Ryzen 3900X
PSU Corsair HXi 850
32Gigs Gskill 3200 Trident Z
It works fine with my old GPU (1080Ti).
Didn't reinstall windows from scratch though.
you don't need to reinstall windows, but you are using an 850... are you using 1 PCIE x8 per pcie connection, or are you pig tailing connections, they need 1 PCIE per connection from the power supply.
@@ThisBytesForYou I've used 3 different cables to power it. Single connection from each cable.
I did the same on my brothers computer and the card worked as expected on his machine (older pc, i7 6700K, Asus Maximus Ranger VII, 16 Gigs Corsair 2400 and I used my PSU on his PC)
I might try to use DDU and test it once again, seems like a software issue.
I inicially thought that the card wasn't connected properly on PCI-e slot, but I think that's not the case, since it fits fine on the slot
Ok, so you know it not the card. Do you have the latest BIOS on the board and do you have the PCI slot set to PCIe Gen4?
Are you overclocked?
@@ThisBytesForYou No, it’s not on the latest bios.
CPU is not overclocked.
update to the latest BIOS, after updating, go back into the BIOS, load optimal defaults, save and exit, then go back in, make sure to enable XMP for your memory, set your boot devices and try again.
i converted the evga 3080ti ultra with a hybrid kit in a lian li 011 dynamic. i have the side as intake push pull bottom intake and exhaust with a 360mm rad for the cpu. my temps are 64c max. with air it was 83c. Wondering if i should switch back to a corsair 5000d or if there would be little benefit for temps.
There is always a benefit with extra room, while the 011 dynamic is a great case (I love that case) the 5000D is much bigger (maybe even try the 7000D). It has a ton on of room , what is your ambient temperature in your house?
@@ThisBytesForYou thank you for the reply it means a lot as i have no else with same hardware to ask. room is 72f/22c i had a 5000d but sold to my friend before i had a 3080ti. what temps are you currently getting max with the 3080ti and room temps you have so i have an idea of what to expect?

@@ThisBytesForYou on air i would get 83c before going hybrid so that helps me know its the card in general. i hate the idea of undervortling because the card is barely strong than a 3080 that undervolting getting 3080 fps defeats the purpose of my upgrade lol. just wish the temps weren't 76-83 going to the TI. thanks again for the reply! subscribed!

After I did some under volting I haven't had any heat issues, 60-70° and fans rarely go above 70% and generally run in the 50-60% range.
Anyhow, I would love to know why power cables you have there. My cables are blocking more of the cards RGB lighting than I like.
good stuff my friend, but the power cables come with the power supply, you can check it out in the description
Shouldn't have to undervolt this card. This is evga's flagship card and it's expensive and made for overclocking I want every drop of performance
@@timtoomuch MUCH of it has to do with the ambient temperature in your house, where you have the PC seated, and overall system cooling.
@@timtoomuch under volting isn't necessary. It'll run just fine "hot and heavy". It just doesn't seem to me that the gains from that are worth the extra watts it draws and the extra money those watts draw from my pay checks. 😂🤣🤣
@@Given119 I never recommend undervolted because it could add needless stability issues but some times people just want to do them, I can't stop them haha but I think this is something I should test and put a video up for.
hi, I use exactly the same card as title, and I do able to set the fan speed, but why does the RPM and % on the left side stay 0?
did you update the firmware?
@@ThisBytesForYou I did, I believe I did, it made a loud noise during the firmware update the first time I opened precision x1
ok good, so when you say 0, if you look at the fans, are they spinning? The fans do have a zero db mode, when they are not truly being utilized and the card is not hot, where the fans stop.
@@ThisBytesForYou yup they are spinning, I even deactivated auto and change the speed myself, and it still shows 0 RPM and 0%

hello, I hope you still read sometimes and maybe you can help. in general, the temperature of the card in the case reaches 84 degrees, the be quiet silent base 802 case, on the front 3 be quiet silent wings 4 hight speed in pwm mode by 58%, on top of the water block from the processor with three 120 complete turntables from deepcool lt 720, on blowing from behind one 140 bq pw2 at 50% (800 rpm). the temperature in the room almost does not affect the result and usually from 21 to 24 degrees, I tried to turn the blowing fans by 60%, but the noise increased, I did not try to change the upper ones for blowing out. they can make a lot of noise if you try. the bios of the card is quiet, the fans are in the car, the thermal interface has recently been changed by professionals, in which direction to dig, can you tell me?
What is the ambient temperature in your house?
yes, when you raise the speed of the fans, the noise will increase.
The ambient temperature in your room will ALWAYS affect the temperature inside the machine.
See if this video helps you: ruclips.net/video/J5m5WBlPkfc/видео.html
@@ThisBytesForYou as I said, the ambient temperature is between 21 and 24 degrees, 22 at the moment. the space for the PC is provided at an acceptable level, there is nothing around the case, the case itself stands on the table ~ 40 cm from the wall.
@@vegetableX you've answered all the questions, there's nothing I can help you with. not sure why you came here if you know it all and have all the best.
@@ThisBytesForYou I think that the problem lies in the significantly curved airflows that do not allow the air inside my case to be renewed at the proper rate, I was hoping that you have a slightly more in-depth knowledge of the physics of airflows. Thanks anyway, maybe I'll review the materials again, suddenly I missed something. so far, I see only adding a fan directly under the video card as a very strange solution, but I do not like this idea.
Well, I was a product development engineer for Alienware and Velocity Micro, so I have an amazing understanding (don't hate me for the horrible airlfow in Alienware cases, I tried to make them good, but management said it was too expensive) but the be quiet looks like it has great airflow, 2 in the front blowing air in, in in the rear, sucking air out, what is your liquid cooling doing, intake or exhaust, and or you overclocked? My frustration is in the way you reply, your replies indicate that you know it all so it makes anyone not want to help you.

I have the same card you are using in the video. My ambient temps in my house are usually around 23c. I know I have a pretty bad case for airflow so I sometimes have to take the glass panels off to reduce temps (NZXT H510 Elite) even with the glass panels off under 99-100% GPU load my GPU temp sits at around 81c highest I have seen it is at 84c.
