    Wow, I am pleasantly surprised that the N win the roll race convincingly. For the dig race it is 50/50, still an excellent result (against a 4 wheel drive) really depends if the N can get good traction out.

    • @slimv3.162
      @slimv3.162 2 года назад +10

      Why are you surprised? It's a front wheel drive vs an all wheel drive and both cars have very close power and weight numbers. The N will win a roll every time from any speed. The real surprise is the N was able to beat the R from a dig. The R should win every dig as long as it's a short dig cause it will eventually get reeled in by the N. However, the new golf R should smash the N in every way lol.

A vehicles performance metrics on paper are not always a one to one translation in real world performance and these races can often prove insightful to the development, engineering, and execution of Hyundais N performance drivetrain. SXTH Element just dyno'd a bone stock EN 8 spd DCT and it put down 273/286 and after their stage 1 ECU tune it made 313/319, no other mods. Their developing an enclosed intake/turbo inlet pipe that made an additional 9-13 whp but only with the tune, made zero on the stock tune, so this tells you how optimized the OEM intake system is❗️

    I do believe it's 276hp, I just think it has an amazing transmission. I dyno my Elantra N and though the power was at the wheels, the numbers do make sense. Below are the numbers I got, all with HKS spark plugs. From stock to JB4 on 93octane it gained nearly 40hp, the NGS definitely gives it a 10hp boost, and just by using E30 from stock it gained about 60hp.

    It'll kill that nasty wheel hop trust me. As of right now, SXTH ELEMENT makes the best ones as it feels near stock when it's fully broken in so you get the best of both worlds which is near stock vibration and no wheel hops.

    Thank you again Sam with a Cool Video!Also thanks to the guy with the previous K5 and new EN. It really convinced me to get one. Also the mk8 would destroy the EN in a roll I'm certain since this car struggled with the Type R in a roll and the MK8 is faster then the type r when it gets close to 90+ I believe due to previous races on Carwow but Sam I love your videos more keep them coming. Next race should be the EN and Sonata/K5 that's more of a closer race.

    I dont know if Hyundai knows how to measure horsepower to the crank, the EN makes more like 330-340 hp and 350-360 tq. Trapping between 107-110mph for a stock one is indicative of those power levels. If they offered a Veloster N AWD with this powerplant I'd highly consider getting one.
