The type r will be faster. There is already a video on the web of someone racing the current gen type r and from the dig, they are very close but from the roll the type r is significantly quicker. And yes, both cars were stock.
Legion didn’t launch the Elantra n properly. DCT Elantra N is going to gap the type r no matter how fast you shift the manual in type R. Both on paper and in person the elantra N DCT is faster period.
Negative ghost rider. Elantra N DCT is faster on paper and in person. Not to mention Hyundai sand bagged the spec numbers for the Kona and Elantra N models

That Accord is no joke. If you're just looking for a fun commuter, that thing would be great. As an owner of the owner of an Elantra N, the launch control is a pita. When you get it right, it is extremely quick off the line but dialing it in takes practice and it's not very consistent.
Great stuff here guys! I was an 'earlier' adopter and I'm glad to be a part of the 2MM faithful. I've driven both makes of car (currently a Clarity owner) and found that the Accord is getting smaller inside again, which confuses me. I had a hybrid model 2022 Accord as a loaner and was very uncomfortable considering my past experience with owning 4 Accords over the years. While obviously not as fast, my Clarity is much more comfortable. I'm going to go drive an N this summer just for fun.
I bet that your choice was: 1. Elantra N 2. Accord 2.0T I tested both cars and the Elantra N was something else, a very balanced handling performance car. The Accord 2.0T has a great powertrain but feels heavier compared to the Elantra N
Thank you Guys for this video. I've been waiting for this. I personally own a Accord 2.0T 2021 and Love it.. to be a very comfortable sedan it's quick!
It would be great if you guys can do at least 2 - 3 runs each. A single run isn't enough to accurately represent any race if there are variables like a bad launch etc... Great channel. Keep up the good work.
Agree. I'm sure if they did more runs he would launch the N better and better. I've seen reviewers and owners turn off launch control and improve dramatically.
Yes. In the U.S the Accord 2.0 sport has gone up from a MSRP OF $31,800 in Apr of 2020. To an MSRP of $33,260 now in Apr 2022. And that HYUNDAI ELANTRA Is over $40k with T.T&L. Probably $42k. That's ridiculous. I'll take the Accord. Was the sales manager and then a finance manager at a local Honda dealership for 6 years. I'll stick with the Honda.
It would probably have an acura v6 in it, which would be pretty awesome, or they woul make a bigger 4 cylinder for weight reasons to keep things light.
When the new Integra drops we should see: 1) Elantra N vs Integra 2) Accord 2.0 vs Integra 3) Integra vs Si 3) Integra type S vs Civic type R We all know that Acura will release the Type S, its just a matter of when AND if it will be worth the money.
The Integra 1.5t will lose against everything you listed except the Si. The Type S will be around $45k and have around 280hp. Also, the Integra doesn’t compete with any of these vehicles you listed, it competes with the A3, 228i Gran Coupe and the CLA250/A220. If it can beat or equal those then it’s solid.

All hail the sport button! Sincerely, the fact that the Honda owned the launch and the race to 60mph in the dig race means that at legal speeds the Honda will usually be the faster car (only losing out in passing speed).
@jmmch3358 I'd like to see a redo for the roll race ...not.convinced. I had a run on the highway with one....he started ahead of me but I was catching up rather quickly.
@@Toyota4Life seeing as the Accord is just another sedan and not a really performance oriented like the N line it shows that the Accord is quite quick. If I was keeping the Accord I'd get a tune on it for sure.
For reliability and daily driving and without all the hoo-haa's and yet close enough to that factory tuned Hyundai, I'll stick with the Accord. It's the "are you 90 year old" option.
I've been looking to buy a car in this price range for a while now and at this point, I'm between the Elantra N and the Accord Sport 2.0T. It's interesting to see the Kona N but its styling just isn't for me. The i30 N, on the other hand, would be perfect but that isn't in the US. The only thing swaying me towards the Accord Sport 2.0T at this point are radar cruise control and the more comfortable ride. While the Elantra N is a REALLY cool car (and I do have a track not too far from me), 90% of all my commutes are highway driving. Also all I hear about Hyundai dealers and service are just horror stories, while my local Honda dealer has an amazing service department, which makes me a repeat customer for them. The only negative I see with the Accord is the lack of a (good) premium audio option on the Sport trim It needs a sub to fill in the lack of sub bass, and the premium audio in the Touring trim is "acceptable" at best (don't hate it at all but the tweeters are too harsh and the sub doesn't go low enough for my music tastes). That's my only gripe. Elantra is smaller than the Accord and the rear brace, while cool and functional, is in the way for the things I have to carry sometimes. Radar cruise (all my commutes are highways) and powered seats (share the car with family sometimes) are also missing on the Elantra N which is a letdown for me. As a daily, I'd go Accord 2.0T all day long so far, having test-driven both. It's the more mature car with enough performance to still surprise people. The accord feels like a highway bomber with enough pep to be fun and sporty enough suspension. The Elantra is amazing as a sports car, but living in Florida, it's all straight roads. For my needs, the Accord is better. If you're in another state with curvy roads, the Elantra is the way to go. Man, it's weird cross shopping an actual sports car with a midsize sedan that happens to be fast in a sport trim (2.0T is only available in Sport or Touring). What a weird time to be shopping for cars.
@name4754 You're unfamiliar with the N platform to make that statement. As far as simple tunes go the Elantra will always be ahead but anything you can go to the Accord can be done to the Elantra N. Gotta do a little research before making such claims
My accord sport 2.0 just has a ktuner with phearable stage 3 tune and Indy 500 tires. It already pulls wayyy harder than stock and that’s without bolt ons. Full bolt ons, custom tune, it’s an animal.
Been waiting for this race and I didn't expect the Accord to hold up so well, looks like I need to get a tune on mine for when I see an Elantra N at a stop light 😂 Also anybody saying to race them on a track hasn't pushed their Accord hard in corners, I can't see the Accord holding up well at all. It just isn't meant to be pushed to its limits even if it handles pretty well for a big car

Type R vs Elantra N (manual) would be fun to watch. Love the content as always, watch every video you guys come out with
If u are going type R u are better off going DCT it will offset the power and weight deficit to some degree but the type R will win... it has more top end pull
@@afrikengunner Makes sense, you're right. I just watched the savage geese video today where they were comparing the Elantra N to the Si, GTI, and WRX. For the value, it's a good car. Unfortunately haven't been able to find one being sold near msrp. Type R's are just stupid expensive these days
@Bry Zeer and the BMW m2 competition will spank the mk8 golf R...
Stupid point...
Fwd vs awd with more power...
@Bry Zeer yes you would... u would compare the gti clubsport to the type r and the N and the megane rs that is journalism...
@Bry Zeer I am telling how it should be not what u have or not have not my fault u guys don't get good cars... fwd vs fwd... megane rs, focus ST, i30 sedan N aka avante N aka Elantra N, i30 N hatch, veloster N... u want competition for ur golf R... the discontinued focus RS will shit all over that golf on tarmac and gravel and then on snow too and that is a 5yr old car
amazing content as usual . As a 2.0t sport owner, I figured this would happen, I'm so proud of the accord performance even after loosing against the N beast which I find it fair ..
can't wait to see Elentra N line against Civic Type R
The type r will be faster. There is already a video on the web of someone racing the current gen type r and from the dig, they are very close but from the roll the type r is significantly quicker. And yes, both cars were stock.
Sam car legion has a video on it
@@arshdeepsinghbrar5294 that guy reaction is pretty slow lol
Legion didn’t launch the Elantra n properly. DCT Elantra N is going to gap the type r no matter how fast you shift the manual in type R. Both on paper and in person the elantra N DCT is faster period.
Negative ghost rider. Elantra N DCT is faster on paper and in person. Not to mention Hyundai sand bagged the spec numbers for the Kona and Elantra N models
Thanks for bring our Elantra N to the throttle house
I really appreciate it. It's a lovely lovely car
James, out of every reviewer on RUclips you have the most accurate pronunciation of “Hyundai.” Thanks for that LOL
what? no. he pronounced the "u" sound incorrectly. it is 현 not 휸. rhymes with sun, not soon.
@@tokinGLX he gets it right a couple times. I didn't say it was perfect, just the most accurate of all these reviewers. I'll take what I can get 😂
Elantra N for the win!!!
Then goes directly to the service department after a few races. :P
But really the N is a great car for someone that wants to go to a track and just race. The Accord is a family hauler that can haul pretty good.
LOL..I love that ending with the "tuned". A lot of people would say "the tuned Accord would ....."
Who cares + enjoy your Prius while you drive it my son
Well my tuned E30 drinking Accord would. :p Obviously the other can be tuned, but will it be when he sees me at a light around town or at the strip and remebers this video? It's all paper racing till you line up irl.
Edit: Also I'd love to see em tuned for tuned. Just because they can both be tuned doesn't mean they both get equal gains. I will say if I was forced to pull the tune from my accord It'd be for sale instantly, toatal snoozer stock, tune wakes it right up. If I bought an N I'd be looking to plug a tune in asap. Why buy a ~$30k "prefomance model" of a car and not spend a few hundo unlocking the potential?
they always say that when they lose a race, it's pathetic
I love the the content and video quality of the reviews. Thank you guys for keeping us car guys hopeful of one day having affordable fun cars to decide on when the time comes.

This is great entertainment for the automotive enthusiast. Thank you both and your great production team.
the elantra is a masterpiece, very nice video
Good comparison guys love all your reviews! Enjoyed the first solo review you did of it a month or two ago. Hoping you do more besides against the new type R when it's out.
Picked mine up a month ago and absolutely love it! Intense blue 6spd. Struggles for grip out of the hole but otherwise awesome in every way.
Do you run premium gas and what is your average mpg when not driving like a hooligan?
How do you like the manual transmission compared to any other manual you have driven?
If the supposed claims that the Elantra N "actually" having more HP then is stated(330-336ish), that makes the Honda Accord 2.0T Sport more impressive..lol
@@bondedstars wit k tuner and hybrid turbos and a exhaust accord would make at least min 430! To the wheels
@@bondedstars no it isn't lol every video out there shows it making less to the wheel...so yeah this makes the accord more impressive 😂 there is a noticeable horsepower difference between the 2. You prob meant the torque numbers.
EN is NOT 330hp stock. Same engine as VN (275) with a larger turbo. EN is likely floating around 300 stock.
@@TheTortuga58 it is 330hp stock to the crank.
@@bradleyscarreviews source? Stock VN usually dynos at 270 (230 wheel), they weigh basically the same, and are basically the same speed. Do you have a link to a stock dyno showing 330 crank?
Elantra N - Masterpiece
As a modified Accord owner, I'm genuinely proud of Hyundai for straight up dishing out some shmexy looking cars recently. Hell, the Koreans are really tapping into their design potential, just look at the new Kia sedans
Their reliability is junk tho
YESSSS, I’ve been waiting for this race
Man, that makes me feel pretty good about my 2.0T. Two great cars!
That ending had me cracking up and as usual, awesome episode, team!
I know I've said it before and lots of other people have as well, but the videos just keep getting better, thank you to everyone on your team and all the work they put in, I genuinely love this channel. The only thing I hate is waiting for new videos to come out. Thank you for making videos like these with cars that I can actually afford
That Accord is no joke. If you're just looking for a fun commuter, that thing would be great. As an owner of the owner of an Elantra N, the launch control is a pita. When you get it right, it is extremely quick off the line but dialing it in takes practice and it's not very consistent.
Hyundaiii N performance the best!!🔥💪
So not only is the sonata N line FINALLY faster than the accord but now the elantra is too. God I love Hyundai
I love that you guys love the Accord!
I'd take the accord all day. They're already running 11 seconds with mods. Pair that with its sleeper looks, Honda reliability and its a win for me.
Loved this one. thanks. I want the N.
The upcoming warmer and dryer weather is gonna be so good for your channel this year
Great stuff here guys!
Owned both and loved both so much. Amazing cars
I bet that your choice was:
1. Elantra N
2. Accord 2.0T
I tested both cars and the Elantra N was something else, a very balanced handling performance car. The Accord 2.0T has a great powertrain but feels heavier compared to the Elantra N
Thank you Guys for this video. I've been waiting for this. I personally own a Accord 2.0T 2021 and Love it.. to be a very comfortable sedan it's quick!
While I'm glad the damn accord that beat the v6 camry got taken down finally.
I'm still proud of it for hanging on this long. Shout out to Honda
It would be great if you guys can do at least 2 - 3 runs each. A single run isn't enough to accurately represent any race if there are variables like a bad launch etc... Great channel. Keep up the good work.
Doesn't matter. The Elantra will always beat the accord
@@porfiriato84 True, but it'd be nice to be thorough.
Thanks guys. I love your content. Love from Australia
The end of the video cracked me up!
😂😂😂I love you guys!!! GREAT energy, TOP content as always!! Love it!!
Having owned a 2.0 Accord - it's shockingly fast for what it is - a normal full size 4 door sedan
I think its about time honda makes an accord type R for the north American market.
It would probably have an acura v6 in it, which would be pretty awesome, or they woul make a bigger 4 cylinder for weight reasons to keep things light.
Yeah, exactly
@@jurkjaredgamez8392 A bigger turbo like the R
I would still get the Accord. It looks better, has better re-sale, has better support for aftermarket, and..... it's a Honda.
We finally get to see this beautiful race.
1.98M, congrats! A YT live is to be expected of you at 2M, tyvm.
When the new Integra drops we should see:
1) Elantra N vs Integra
2) Accord 2.0 vs Integra
3) Integra vs Si
3) Integra type S vs Civic type R
We all know that Acura will release the Type S, its just a matter of when AND if it will be worth the money.
@@drivescene6747 facts I think the forte gt dct would walk the integra too

All hail the sport button! Sincerely, the fact that the Honda owned the launch and the race to 60mph in the dig race means that at legal speeds the Honda will usually be the faster car (only losing out in passing speed).
if you use the sport mode wisely, you will find the accord pretty FAST

who would’ve thought this would end being my fav car channel :)
The accord has a ton of power. I can confirm
Eleantra N for sure
For reliability and daily driving and without all the hoo-haa's and yet close enough to that factory tuned Hyundai, I'll stick with the Accord. It's the "are you 90 year old" option.
Reliability???? Haaaahaaa what rock are you living under? Reliability for the accord ended in 2017. 😂😂😂
Amazingly, a family sedan, Honda Accord 2.0T Sport, kept up pretty well with the dedicated track compact, the Elantra N!
That makes the Accord amazing. Just a bit slower but it completely destroys Elantra in daily drivability, space and comfort.
Can you create a sound clip of James yelling "ThAnKs FoR WaTcHiNg!!" lol. That was hilarious!
Please run these 2, the Kona N and Sonata N-Line!!! So everyone can stop guessing which is fastest
Plus a Kia Stinger GT Series.
Its a Hyundai. Cheap but fast. Strangely the last few years have been an upgrade to the garbage they used to pump out. Well done.
You guys should do this again with tuned versions. I would be very interested to see what each car is capable of
Elantra will be more capable probly. Bierman that used to be in BMW M division helped Hyundai creating the N.
@@Uncrowned_King_Benz Nope, you can definitely get more out of the 2.0 accord
@name4754 You're unfamiliar with the N platform to make that statement. As far as simple tunes go the Elantra will always be ahead but anything you can go to the Accord can be done to the Elantra N. Gotta do a little research before making such claims
@@michaelwilburn1001 You can make the accord push 600 hp, doubt you can do that on the N, but if its possible car wont last long

@@christopherguzman6736yes you do 😂😂 the Elantra is lighter and makes more power 😂 it was a bad launch in this video. Multiple people have gotten into the 4 second range 0-60 with their Ns. Don’t sit here and lie to yourself.
