Thanks Lise, I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Assynt really is a very special place and incredibly beautiful. Thanks for taking the time to comment and have a great weekend. Best wishes, David :-)
Hi Janet, thanks for watching this one too. Yes it’s a very special part of the country. I used to go up and fish the remote lochs when I was younger. I have such fond memories of roaming the hills from loch to loch and just losing myself in the sheer majesty of it all. I don’t know where the years go to! Hope you have a lovely weekend and I’m glad you enjoyed this one too 🙂
Videos are just amazing, you certainly help many people with the beauty of Scotland, we have a longing to come back. Thank you David for all you do in making others happy. Stay well 🌹🌹
Thanks Anna, I really appreciate your very kind comments and support. I really hope you can make it back soon and enjoy these amazing places in Scotland. Take care and have a great weekend. Best wishes, David :-)
David, I absolutely agree with your opening statement, at 49 (11 years ago now) I had to have a full hip replacement, it took me a year to get back to a reasonable fitness and have never looked back since. It gave me a new lease of life, for 5 years previous I could barely walk a couple of hundred metres, these days I'm good for 8 to 10 miles or so. Never give up !! I really enjoyed this video, it is a beautiful area, somewhere we would like to visit. Have you been further up the coast, the area around Poolewe is very similar to the Assynt area, well worth a visit. I look forward to your next outing, stay safe.
Hi Martyn, sorry to hear you had all that trouble with your hip. I know from friends that it can be an extremely painful condition and it must have been awful not to have been able to walk for so long. Glad though that the replacement gave you a renewed lease of life. Really glad you enjoyed the video. I know Poolewe and Gairloch really well. I had one of my best fishing days on Loch Tollaidh when I was a teenager and it is a wonderful area too. Hopefully next year I can visit and get some of it on film. Thanks again for your support and have a great weekend. Best wishes, David
Hi Umer, thanks for your lovely comment. I'm so glad it's made you feel closer to Scotland. It makes all the time filming worthwhile. Thanks for taking the time to comment and have a great weekend. Best wishes, David :-)

Hi Alan, so sorry to hear you weren't feeling so good this week and I'm glad you're now feeling better. Really glad you enjoyed the videos. We really do live in a truly awesome country and I'll never tire of exploring it. One day I hope to have more time to do a better job of capturing it all on film, but these will have to do for just now. Take good care of yourself and have a great week. All the best, David
@@DavidWheaterScotland thanks David. Yea. Be. Good. To see what you. Got. Lined. Up for the future. Vids. Can't wait. Have. Nice weekend.look after yar self mate...
Dear David, May god bless u and have ur health in best condition, thank you got sharing those beautiful pictures of Scotland, ur country is amazing, Are u moving around in a mobile home? I would imagine as those remote places are hardly to discover on a normal basis, one needs to be independent from hotels and restaurants Take good care! Warmest regards Thomas
Hi Thomas, thank you for your very kind words. I hope you're well too. Yes, these are very remote areas and it can be difficult sometimes to get good accommodation, but I was fairly lucky on this trip as it was pretty quiet earlier this summer. The road infrastructure in the remoter parts can't really cope with very large vehicles, but the smaller one's seem to cope fine. Thanks for all your lovely words about the videos - I deeply appreciate it. Warmest best wishes, David :-)
Hi Donna, hope you're well and I'm really glad you enjoyed seeing the deer and the lovely beaches. We really do have some fantastic beaches in Scotland. The best one's are often hidden and I love just stumbling across them. I was very lucky to see these deer. They're truly wild and can be quite difficult to get on film. Thanks for commenting and have a great weekend. All the best, David
living abroad now but have spent a lot of time in these hills and it's lovely to see them again. Makes me want to come home soon. Thanks very much for the video.
Thanks Brian, I'm really glad it's brought back some good memories. Although I'm only a short drive away in Edinburgh, I'm always wishing I was up there. I can never really put into words the feelings of peace and happiness I get from being up there and I think that's what drives me to want to put it on film. Hope you can make it home again soon. All the best, David :-)
Hi Inga, hope you're well and I'm so happy you like this series. I hope to have the final one out this weekend and then on to some new adventures in the Lothians and the Scottish Borders. Thanks for commenting and your support, I really appreciate it. Best wishes, David :-)
David Wheater adventures in Lothian & Borders will be right up my alley as that will be my focus (plus Fife) on my trip to Scotland next year. Awesome 👏😊
@@ingaborlowski1536 Awww, that's brilliant Inga. The Scottish Borders are so beautiful and often neglected by visitors, so I'm really glad you're going to visit. I'm hoping to do Peebles and Melrose by the end of the year and hopefully some of the Tweed. Stay well and thanks for all your support. It means a lot to me when people comment. Warmest best wishes, David
David Wheater I look forward to watching when you have completed the video(s). I’m sure I’ll find inspiration for my trip too . Thank you for your lovely work ❤️
So sorry to hear this, but so glad you are still able to enjoy these beautiful places, every dayis a gift to me, I'm so lucky., these beautiful beaches, those lochs and the sound of a Scottish river just so beautiful, the monkey flowers at the beach beautiful and the way you catch the light, and the deer stunning. Beautiful back ground music too
Thanks Anne, I so appreciate all your very kind & supportive comments. I really long to go back, but it will probably be next summer now - something to look forward too 🙂 Take good care of yourself, you’ve been through so much and thanks again for watching. Warmest best wishes, David
David this was so beautiful...seeing sand dunes so close always makes me excited for the upcoming view of the sea ahead. Thanks for capturing people enjoying nature as well. 16:10 are total couple goals. lol. Through your struggles you have blessed so many of us with incredible footage. Thank you and all the best.
Hi Jamani, that's so nice of you :-) I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I hope you can visit us soon and enjoy the Highlands for yourself. If you need any help planning a visit just let me know. Best wishes and thanks for commenting, David
I must say it was a pleasure to watch your video. My husband and I holiday every year for two weeks in Inverkirkaig in a chalet. Our fav beaches are Achmelvich and Clachtoll. When I was a wee lass, my parents always holidayed in Lochinvar, so been going there ever since. Our chalet is right next door to a famous person, Ruth Jones from the program Gavin and Stacey. Lovely couple, her husband also owns Peet,s Restaurant in Lochinvar. My heart always belongs in Lochinvar. 😊
Thanks so much Yvonne. Really appreciate you watching. My heart very much belongs to this area. I have such wonderful memories of fishing the hill lochs around Lochinver and wonderful summer days watching the clouds go by from the tops of hills & mountains. That's such a coincidence your neighbour is Ruth Jones and I didn't know her husband owns Peet's - I'll definitely have to go when I'm back next year. Thanks so much for watching, warmest best wishes, David :-)
Hi Henry, sorry you had a bit of a washout, Scotland can be like that at times. Glad you liked the area though, it's stunningly beautiful and very special to me. Thanks again for commenting and have a lovely weekend. All the best, David
That's right ...life is so fragile. I admire you in your determination to move forward! My agenda was rushed when visiting in the past hopefully the next time it will be at a more leisure pace. I'm watching your videos as the highlands are where I feel I belong. Everyone has "their place(s)" in the world .Like you Scotland calls me. I hope you continue to improve physically and make more visits to the places you love so much. Many blessings
Thanks so much Maria, that's really kind of you and much appreciated. I'm so glad you've fallen in love with the Highlands. I'm lucky enough to be heading back up on Monday which I can't wait for. After the pandemic I'll be really relishing everywhere I go. I think in the past I took to much for granted. I'm taking my camera and will try to film a bit of my adventure which hopefully I'll be able to share with you in a couple of weeks or so. Thanks so much for commenting and I hope you can visit us again very soon. Warmest best wishes, David :-)
Loved the video very much. I really loved your words in the beginning saying that life is precious and not let things stop you.Thankyou. Take care and have a wonderful time. Best wishes & thanks, David 🙂

I try to go to Assynt at least once a year after discovering it about 4years ago. The hills and glens are a reset button to life. I can walk all day and see only deer and only hear the water and wind (the occasional fast jet can add a reality check) will be going up soon for a break.
Thanks Alan, so glad you’re enjoying the peace & quiet of this amazing area. You’re so right about it having restorative qualities. I don’t get up there as much as I did, but hopefully this year. Hope you enjoy your next visit. Warmest best wishes, David 🙂
