A man has been charged with two counts of murder and the case is "being treated as a hate crime" but police suggest it's "not a homophobic crime," says chief reporter at Bristol Live Tristan Cork.

A “hate crime” is a crime committed because of bias towards another for such reasons as their race, sexuality, & so on. (race & sexuality being the most common). With that said, the fact these 2 men were homosexual, makes me believe that is the reason for their murders.

I'm in favour of trying to help those fleeing oppression in other countries, but it feels as though the immigrant community is disproportionately connected with such heinous crimes. Bombs at Ariane Grande concerts, innocent police attacked, knife crime, children sacrificed because they are "possessed," etc. I don't know if I'm just overly sensitive to skin colour in these situations, but it seems that people from certain cultural backgrounds bring their worst attitudes with them.
The sad reality is that we logically have to stop saving those in real danger in order to save those already in Britain. That being said technically nobody other than people from France, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Iceland and The Faroe Islands can meet the United Nations criteria for being a Refugee. The UN determines that someone is only a refugee until they reach the nearest safe place to them, with this in mind I don't think there is even an argument to be made as to whether we are saving these people, they are here purely for economic reasons. Britain is an Island in the far North West of Europe, it is the last place you would find millions of Refugees fleeing war in Africa and The Middle East.
And WE should be able to discuss this instead of being shouted down by ignorant loons

People tend to filter out information that doesn't reinforce their existing beliefs. It's called Confirmation Bias.
Immigration always comes with problems, Italian Americans brought the Mafia to the US/ Irish immigration brought the IRA/ Jewish immigration brought white slavery etc etc but the economic pluses generally outweigh the minuses.
When people watch the Olympics or the Premier League, they don't tend to say immigration is a bad thing, When people are treated by African doctors and nurses, they don't complain too much.
Now you can live in a country without immigrants like Hungary or Poland but they're hardly setting the world alight economically or culturally. In fact they have massive emigration problems. Ironically enough, they move to the countries with mass immigration.

He also said that he & his wife agreed that the picture of the wanted man was not the same man they witnessed the night before.
