Hi David , glad to see that you are getting better. That’s one of my favorite locomotives in the steam era .I have one in H O scale. The history behind that train is amazing. During WW II they painted it black and called it the war baby. That was a good running session. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. 😎😎👍
I missed this update - great to see the Daylight up and running! You have enough length of mailine and broadness of curvature to run a nice long passenger consist like that...Cheers from chilly Melbourne.
Marvellous loco David, good to see it running, with some great footage… appreciate the effort you put in. Glad all went well re surgery etc…. 😊 take care bud
Hi David, great video buddy. I'm very happy for you, you've had some work done to you and your train, and you look a lot happier, and confident. That train ie; loco and cars look awesome! It runs so good and sounds so cool. The real life 4449 comes right past my house sometimes when it's on excursion tours, the next time it does I'll get a video and some pics just for you. Take care bud and cheers. Dave B.
Thanks for taking us along on the excursion run there David, it was a lot of fun. The Daylight has always been a beautiful sight and you have put together an excellent rendition of it. Congrats on getting her running again!
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Glad your op went well. Have you seen what the KATO Big Boy can pull? Something to add to the loco roster. Best from London.
I bought a Alco PB-1 SP Daylight Kato N scale locomotive as well to help my Kato 4449 pull the daylight train as well. When I build my layout it has grades. I used SCARM to design the layout and it has my grades just under 2%. That's why I bought the B unit.
My grades are under 2% but the loco struggled on it’s own with the smaller radius combined with the grade on the extension area. It’s was fine in the rest of the layout.
Thanks Garry, I love British steam but for modelling I felt North American outline gave more options. I does snow down here in the south eat corner every winter. We have sold pretty good snow fields. I did here that there was a forecast for snow in souther Western Australia a little while ago, that is a very rare occurrence.
What is your minimum radius? Personally I prefer larger radius curves for passenger trains. For the most part the curves look fairly big. Also those long "rail fan" shots look great. I have the same train and also got the extra articulated chair car. I thought there was another two units /4 cars to make the complete consist? Gotta say using the B unit is a great idea. I am planning on modeling 1950s San Francisco - Los Angeles. And Ideally would run two of these one from each end. I asume the GS is more than capable of pulling the consist on the flat?
Running smooth and steady, as she should! Looking great, mate!!

I do like the wartime paint schemes. Before I made the plunge to N scale I had the wartime black Flying Scotsman.
@11:00 is the money shot.
Simply beautiful.

That would be awesome.
A pretty site David seeing it back on the tracks pulling a long line of coaches!!! Continued healing and see you soon!!!
Thanks Mike.
Great video, love the quote "It makes me happy" in the title of the video. And that sir, all that matters :) Glad you got it working again! Stay safe!
An enjoyable update on the status of the railroad. Thanks, Tony

Running good. Makes me want to get my lone passenger train running again.
Very cool. Not a big steam loco fan but very interesting to watch. Stay warm ,heard it snowed in Australia. Cheers.
Not a steam loco fan? SMH.
@@poindextersheelturn436 also not a fan of sponge toffee.
Thanks Garry,

Very impressive track plan!
Awesome train.
Beautiful loco
It certainly is.
Yes, she did look good Running around the layout. Bob
Thanks Bob.
Looooonnnggg!
Is that a B unit behind the tender of the loco?
Yes it is.

The minimum radius on the loops is 16 inches. The peninsula is about 22 inches.
