  • This is a continuation from the last video that allows you to practice with me.
These videos are designed strictly for beginner guitarist.
I will start with simple concepts to overcome the physicalness of the guitar.
This lesson involves a combination of the semi chromatic scale and the lydian scale
(forth position of a major scale)
The Lydian scale is a major-type scale known for its bright and dreamy sound, characterized by a raised fourth degree compared to the major scale. It is the fourth mode of the major scale and has the following pattern of whole (W) and half (H) steps: W-W-W-H-W-W-H.
For example, the F Lydian scale includes the notes:
    F (root)
    G (whole step)
    A (whole step)
    B (whole step)
    C (half step)
    D (whole step)
    E (whole step)
    F (octave)
The raised fourth (B in the F Lydian scale) gives the Lydian scale its unique sound, often described as mystical or ethereal. This scale is commonly used in jazz, progressive rock, and film scores to evoke a sense of wonder or exploration.
On the guitar, you can play the Lydian scale by starting on any note (the root) and following the interval pattern. This scale can be used for improvisation, composition, and exploring new melodic ideas.
