You need to drill those existing holes to 5/8" to allow you to push the tubes through. Also, if anyone is curious, this fits the 2nd gen and 3rd gen. I took mine off my 2019 before I traded it, and installed it on my 2024 today. Just had to make some minor adjustments with the existing adjusters.
Thanks for sharing the video. I'm looking at this cover for my GMC Canyon with a 5' bed. It looks like you lose about a foot of the bed where the cover rolls up. That for me is a deal breaker since I'd be losing 20% of the bed. I currently have a soft rollup cover and rolled up I still have 100% of the bed available. I think I'll stick with what I have.
0:55 I don't understand the people that are scared to show their license plate. You do understand when you are driving around people do see your plate. There is no difference ...... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 what you should be worry about is someone sticking a tracker under the vehicle. Happening more often because a license plate to those crooks can't pull up an address. But a apple tracker they can see where you are and scope you out, where you live, and when not at home (after they established they know where your home is.).
I purchase this model for my 2024 GMC Denali Ultimate and it leaks like crazy. The installer has reinstated it several time with no luck. At this point I am trying to get my money back. Defeats the purpose of getting this expensive item if tons of water gets in.
How is it holding up as a cover, would you say it's more matte or glossy black? I just got a 2023 Tundra and was looking at getting this on my truck. Thank you for the review.
Holding up fantastic. Sill love it. I THINK i would say more matte than glossy... the color still looks just like the day I got it. I hope you like yours as much!! THANKS FOR WATCHING!!
That stripping is supposed to be cut at the top near the front of the cab, they are not supposed to overlap the sides like that, the side rails of the cover do go over the bed caps and that weather stripping but unless you cut that flush with the side bed caps you will never allow that to lay totally flat there. Just a tip from the peanut gallery
The one on my ram 2500 I have the side rails canted at an angle with the outside parts with the seal as tight as humanly possible to the bed caps and the inner part pulled up as high as I could so that the seals function as intended and I also cut the weather stripping at the front bed cap to lay flat since they give you too much overhang when new and tell you to cut it back so it lays flat. If you do this properly the only spot water enters is at the tailgate when you open it but they even have a weather stripping kit for the tailgate itself so you make it totally sealed inside. Hope this helps
How much was this ? Is the the $1549 one on there site and also this uses the factory rail system thanks…I own a 2022 tundra trd pro lunar rock with red interior
Believe it was right at $2k. They have so many names that I get confused - but it’s the one with “Pro” in the name. It had two options. One with rails and one without. I think the rail version was $100 more. Love it still. Thank you for watching!!
No cover is 100% water proof. You can get a bed slide to keep stuff off the bed of the truck and that should keep your luggage and stuff dry since its not on the bed.
Let me know if you see the same. Maybe I got a bad install. I was spraying water right in the seems tho. Long term after hard rains I’ve not seen tons of water but there is always some water down the sides. Tia k you for watching
Definitely a bad install ive had 3 retrax covers on different trucks, never had that much water in the bed. If you loosen up your clamps and tilt the rail covers up from inside the bed it helps make the water run down the track to the conister and not flow into the bed. Also maybe they dodnt put the foam under the rail covers?
yeah just make sure you tell them you understand its not waterproof, because that's what they say to cover their butts, but. that seems to be more water than ive ever seen leak in.@@TheArkansasGunGuy
No bed cover is waterproof. They are water resistant. Will keep most of the water out, but not all of it. Put a rubber floor mat in so your items do not slide and keep mainly in the middle. Also, the drain tubes. Install them up higher in the corner of the bed. Not in the floor. They drain better and are also not in the way. If you put a sheet a plywood in, you will knock them out of the holes. And please do not take that new truck through a car wash. Was that truck at home.

Good video. Most people don’t do these test

How much tint do you have on this ting? Looks great
Not sure - it came from the dealer that way. Bought in OKC. Thank you for watching!!!

Did you have to lower the OEM rail system?
You have a red off-road bud

@@TheArkansasGunGuy what’s the rails is the the slits on top if u wana add racks?
@@TheArkansasGunGuy on site there’s one for 1549 is that this one and ya your rite there so many u get confused very easily
Correct. Little rail areas on side that you can mount stuff too. I didn’t do the rails because I ever planned to mount anything
@@TheArkansasGunGuycheck lomax cover it’s awesome I’m most likely going with that and it’s 1185 total with installation

Only 1794 TRD Pro in existence.
HA! I had to look hard and wait a very long time to find a 1794 w/ the TRD package.... Thank you for watching!!!
I have the other one 😁
I think he misspoke. It's not a TRD Pro, it's a 1794 with TRD off road package
@@cbanethe op was being sarcastic. He knew he misspoke😂
Getting one put in next Tues. That much water is concerning.

Don't sweat it. If it's done properly, you'll have no water. I had it on my 2019 TRD Pro, and it was bone dry after going through car wash.

EXCELLENT feedback - thanks for sharing. i'm taking back to place that installed it for another look. THANK YOU for the info - and for watching!

No need to block out license plates, hundreds if not thousands of people can see it every day on the road.
Not a trd pro

Truck2go is 1500 less go there
That cover is either a garbage install or a garbage product I have seen other covers that do not allow water into the bed.
Those drain pipes are pathetically small.
