Yeah, I think it’s a challenge to make a cover that fits such a large variety of trucks and be a perfect fit and install. Water finds a way, so 95% waterproof is acceptable IMO. Great points on the electrical install side: that will help me to be prepared.
Great review, getting ready to order mine today. Only exceptions are that my truck is an 8' bed and no power option is available for that! How did you like the clamp down holders for the bed rail? I have used similar with camper shell mounts and my current soft cover.
The clamps actually work well and they are adjustable to get the rails square so the cover will open and close smoothly. Good luck and thank you very much for watching!
@Peacemaker_1 No manual override that I have found. Still using the cover after 4 years and no major issues at this point. Thank you very much for watching!
@@DownShifting76That's awesome! You say no major issues. Were there minor issues? Can you elaborate on those? Here's why. I'm seriously considering this tonneau and there's not a lot of end user information and forum posts/videos out there. What I've run across are folks who say there's just more to go wrong with the motorized ones but that's not generally how I approach it unless there's actual user feedback to support it. Otherwise it's just conjecture. Would you buy this one again? Thanks for your reply!
@@Peacemaker_1 absolutely I would make the purchase again. To date the issues remain the same. poorly equipped wiring harness, the double sided tape on the light needing replaced are all that I have had to address. As stated in the video just be prepared to spend a few dollars and take some time to make the wiring a quality installation. If that is addressed you are good to go!
Which bedliner is that? I bought this cover and my drop in bed liner doesn’t fit it. I was thinking of cutting it on the corners or maybe getting a mat
The bed liner was in before the bed cover and it did require some cutting of the bed liner. The next time I prefer to have a spray-in bed liner with the same bed cover. I hope this helps you out with the project and thank you very much for watching!
@jrvillegas7667 we do get a small amount of water in really heavy rain but nothing too extreme. Just enough that any cargo should be okay with some water penetration or as an example, we will place clothes bags or sensitive items inside of a plastic bag just for an extra layer of protection if we know we will get into rain. @robertbutler8004 I get comments saying I drive a pavement princes when I wash it and comments for getting it dirty off road LOL. Thanks much for watching!

Great video! Considering this tonneau for my new Ram 1500. Do you know if there's a manual override in case the motor stops working?

@@DownShifting76Ok! I've made up mind and this is the one I'm getting. Thank you again for responding and the helpful info!
@@DownShifting76 I bought my cover and it looks great! It's a bit noisy when retracting and closing. Is that normal?
For a product of this price point, your wiring/electrical points are spot-on. That's some BS. No fuse? Exposed wiring? No connection terminals?
Fail.
