Thanks for watching the video, to explain the situation of this event a little better, the event was hosted by Absolute Sounds UK Distributor for Wilson Audio at KJ West One. Thanks to Absolute Sounds for the invitation.
Michael Fremmer has been doing alot of content for The Absolute Sound RUclips channel. Are we seeing the commercialization of RUclips in Audio? That buisness model definitely has been circulated. Hope to hear your thoughts and some sound demos as well. 😀
@LuxmanAudio389 I am pretty sure Michael Fremer works for The Absolute Sound, so him making videos for them makes sense as thats likely part of his job responsibility. I work for myself, I work for Pursuit Perfect System, it my own entity. Yes I have to make a living but no-one paid me to make this video if that is what you are asking. I dont see a problem in creating paid videos for companies covering events like this because it costs money and time to make a video and no-one can work like that for free. This is not a video like that, I would create a video like that without my own personal opinion for obvious reasons. I created this video because I was at the event anyway so it made sense to make a video from it so more people can enjoy it.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem I'm glad you are still working for yourself. And you definitely need to get very well paid. Even if you did take on a position to do it for another company I would hope that not only you would be able to make a comfortable living, but also that you had total control as you do now as to how the content is produced and presented. Your content has always been fantastic. You do the most excellent field work that no one else really has and don't just review products from your home. Your Luxman content, coverage of the Cabbase La Sphere at Harrods, Gryphon pre to post shutdown, and many more have been epic. I know Michael has his own channel-AnalogPlanet. It was very nice of you to cover Wilson while you were there. Your enthusiasm is unique and I'm sure most of you felt your pain when you had the ultimate system for review with your Kef REF 5 And that again is what makes your channel unique is that you not only cover the big shows, but also the many events these excellent companies host, and I hope that never changes.
I stumbled on KJ West One yesterday, and Sebastian treated me to a personal demonstration of the Wilson Audio Chronosonic XVX floorstanding speakers. I have to say it was an experience that I will never forget. Thankyou to all at KJ West One for being so welcoming. When I enquired as to how much for the speakers and Dartzeel amp's etc, the figures quoted, really hit me right between the eyes! That said, it was truly wonderful to listen to a truly 'high end' sound.
Fascinating! Very informative and enjoyable. Thank you for creating this video. The new Michael Fremer video tour of the Wilson factory is a must see also. What a truly amazing company! Thanks again for this great video.
Thanks for your effort Terry, much appreciated. Although I will probably never be able to buy such a system, it's always very interesting to see this kind of hifi-gear. And Peter speaks about it very passionately. Keep on with the good work 👍 Greetings from the Netherlands !
I can only imagine how wonderful it must sound. I have been using my Wilson Max 2’s for 15 years now and the endless hours of listenning pleasure is simply indescribable.
Wow you must be in audio nirvana for quite a long time with those Wilsons! Congrats! Have you heard the Maxx 3 and Alexx? Do you feel those are significantly better than the Maxx2?
Great coverage of this event Terry - thanks!. I enjoyed the back story of the decades relationship between the Sales director and founder of Wilson Audio and how everything Wilson does is bespoke to their speaker designs - If only I had the funds and space to go up to this level of Audio!
Superb video Terry, and thanks for mic'ing up Peter, it really makes all the difference. I've heard Peter at a couple of shows in the past, such a knowledgeable and genuine man. As for the Alexia V's, I heard them the following day at KJW, just beautiful!. Though I'm unlikely to ever own such a system, it's so inspiring to see and hear what the state of the art is. Thanks again.
That's my dad, and he is a very knowledgeable and kind man! Stumbled into some videos of Wilson's products and thought I'd say thanks for the words about him.
Mark Levinson had a similar start to his company. He was a recording engineer who made his own mic preamp(s) because he didn't like what was available commercially. Other people "heard/used" them, wanted them, and the rest is history.
Mmm, I would love to have a pair to test and mess around with their timing alignment gubbins and try a range of amps to see how much difference is made between good gear and the really high end stuff.
I know people would like it but I am not doing sound demo videos anymore as they require a ton of work from me, dont always pass RUclips copyright and I make no YT ad revenue so I am basically doing a ton of work for nothing, I am so busy and need to make a living I cant justify it anymore.
What it would be interesting to know for me is, how do you compare that system with your system, could you justify the amount of money used in that system compared to yours even if you have the money for it?? Thank you!! Great job as always.
I have had some great sound in my system but never anything that compares to what I heard here. I didnt know the music so maybe there was a little bit of that but I dont think its all that.
Not sure what you are referring to here, that time frame shows the speaker plaque which is only a few cms wide and I have applied a lot of "zoom" with the camera lens and software so any bits of dust you cant see with your eye all show up
I see what you mean now, you would have to be close examining by the mm to see that by eye. The curse of the zoom shows everything even the tinniest of things
I prefer the older Wilsons that had Focal tweeters though many feel that the Focal tweeters were too bright. I recall listening to the original grand slamm in early 90s & couldn’t listen to my Epos 11 & 14 for weeks after that listening session.
You’re not alone in that point regarding the older titanium tweeters. I heard this statement just the other day from a former professional from the Hifi industry…And I personally never had any bad feelings about those tweeters in my MAXX either. Newer isn’t always better…oftentimes only slightly different. Take care.
I while I really look forward to hearing Wilson's for the first time, I am sure they sound amazing, I cannot get past their looks. I just don't like their designs.
The color of this specific Alexia model is indeed strange. But other than that I do love their looks almost as much as their sound quality. If you want to reach audiophile heaven …get over your „looks prejudice“ 😉
As the old adage says, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I consider all of the Wilson speakers to be absolutely gorgeous, mesmerizing and unique in their design😊
Terry please review the all new Qualio Audio IQ Semi Open-Baffle speakers Did you see the new 6MOONS Review on these speakers WOW ! Go listen to these speakers on You Tube they are amazing good !
It gets beyond crazy some of the high tier high end stuff like , even rich people cant afford it haha. Only the true psychopath billionares will be able to use this stuff soon.
Not sure what you are on about the mic setup is over a £1000 wireless lav setup. There is rustle where the presenter is moving a lot and the mic rubs against the jacket. Hard to predict that when you don’t know what is happening.
Because the aesthetics are a product of the engineering behind Wilson's philosophy. I'm sure that once you her them, they will look "beautiful". Cheers!
Who is DW? Also there are lots of things in life we cant have doesnt make them less interesting or able to show or teach us things. In HiFi this is really important because these types of systems set a standard to judge others against.
Isn’t that $250k amps? Why would anyone use $250k amps for $70k speakers? The truth is latest Wilson speakers do not sound right with most solid state amps. That’s why they are using extra mellow amps like these or tube amps at the show. In my opinion, the latest Wilson speakers have messed up the tonal quality.
Wilson speakers are all so ugly. Ive never heard a pair before in person. B&W 800 series are beautiful but i don't like the sound. Can't judge a book by its cover 😉
When you see them in the flesh and touch them you appreciate the build quality much more and you start to see why they look like they do and how the light reflects off their paint in a different way to more affordable speakers and then you take a whole new view on them.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem agreed but their speakers cost a lot less, are you seriously telling me that £15000 tune tots (Inc. Stands) sound better than similar sized speakers from say bowers that cost half the price? (Appreciated your reply btw) enjoy your channel, also have you seen the way they are made, lung disease must be rife amongst Wilson employees and they’re not really environmentally friendly.
The Tunetot is an extreme example of course its not the same kind of speakers as a big bowers, but I think they were originally designed to be used on desktops and in kitchens and stuff so in that instance they make for an amazing nearfield desktop setup where you couldnt use big bowers. Yes they are very expensive either way but when you hear a system like this its amazing and it doesnt sound like a normal hifi its different.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem Totally agree. This is evolution of "consumer electronics" to lifelike audio reproduction. They are not the same thing and I suspect the designers behind the various systems would agree. The system in your video is unapologetically expensive and designing to a cost was probably not a strong goal as it would be for some of the other brands mentioned above.

Just went to a Wilson audio event last evening where the Gentleman in the video did a few minutes of talking but most of the time we were listening to his recordings over the years. Great presentation 😊
Thanks for shooting this video and telling the story behind the brand. Wilson Auido may be the last speaker I will own.
Very nice I bet these will look awesome in red in my room.
Of the craftmanship there is no question. But for the color, I'm thinking, what were they thinking.
Vos vidéo sont toujours agréable et efficace, bravo!
Merci, thank you
Definitely if Im in the UK to want to pop in for a demo!
can u recommend some speaker cable brand which is suitable for tube amplifier and love listening to warm sound thanks very much
Wonderful speakers, but did they have to come in "bathroom green"?
One of a kind 👍🏻
@5:02 I might have just enough money for that toy(model) Wilson Audio speaker. How much is the set?
Mark Levinson had a similar start to his company. He was a recording engineer who made his own mic preamp(s) because he didn't like what was available commercially. Other people "heard/used" them, wanted them, and the rest is history.
Another interesting video Terry. Thanks mate
While looks are subjective, nothing sounds as good as a Wilson!
Love the color

I like the styling a lot. The audiophile standard fine wood gloss is both played out and non-ideal. This is utilitarian, a welcome change.
No audio from them?
I cant because of copyright strikes might cancel the video and there is nothing that can be done about it
@@PursuitPerfectSystem …that’s a shame

I’m sure these speakers are great but those DarTZeel monoblocks make any speaker sound good. And they cost 2X more than the Wilsons.
Cost of the speakers-drivers of Scanspeak origin and crossovers ~ £2000.Cost of the ready made loudspeakers £80000.Nice profit Wilson.

Over engineering at its worse, far too expensive (I’m not jealous) and ugly, so KEF, B&W, Harbeth, & ATC are all wrong
To be fair KEF Bowers ATC and Harbeth all do it differently so essentially they all say the others are wrong.
