    Not overpriced. I am saying as I am lower middle class at most, on my income in NY. But look at the follow-up look inside Wilson, the uncompromising, all custom, mostly in-house, hand-crafted process and you might agree. Not much room for discounts LOL to stay in business and keep it truly US made, and privately owned.

    I have only had the please of listening to a Wilson product once... and it was AMAZING. It was like YOYO MA was playing cello in my lap... sure they were 50 grand... and powered by probably another 50 grand of gear... but DAMN! Thanks for the "review!...

    I recently purchased some Buchardt A500s and I'm impatiently waiting for their arrival. I would have ordered some Kii 3s if I felt I could get them by my lady but I know the size of them would be a bitter battle with her. Because of your videos I have been acclimated to active speaker systems over passive choices mostly due to the problem of matching them up with amplifiers and DACs. I have been aware of Wilson Audio products for some time now and I appreciate your work here. My main problem is that Hegel amps are difficult at best to purchase here in California. In the last year I have literally given away all my passive speakers, amps, preamps, and DACs to family and friends to explore this new world. Now, you have me wanting a set of TuneTots.....What am I to do with you. I'm an old man in poor health with limited time for these explorations. Thanx Darko....

    I have a set of bookshelf scan speak speakers, not these. They are other worldly in clarity and sound stage for sure. I went to a big box store yesterday and listed to a sub 300k system (Mcintosh monoblocks and B&W 802's). Honestly it sounded like it was lacking clarity and sound stage compared to what I have. If you get a chance to buy scan speak drivers in whatever form, I'd say go for it. Side note DIY is a whole lot cheaper. I can relate to exactly what this guy was saying.

    I like the way you give examples of music just as much as I like your talk about the gear. It's made you my favorite audiophile youtuber. What puts you apart from many of the other is your autheticity. You have a subjective approach, but manage to remove your own stake in your presentation. Your focus is clearly on the enjoyment of the music rather than on the components that make it happen, and that is great. Ever listened to Tomas Dvorak's Machinarium?

    I would buy a pair of Tune Tots without hearing them if I had the money. I'd certainly mate them to a great sub and amp. Another fine review and no, I don't mind reviews of expensive gear that's beyond my financial reach. I appreciate excellence.

    Thank you very much for this hint. 😊.

    The subtitles were a gas. I didn't have subtitles turned on, so i thought & i'd watched a good few vids before this one, but they were there throughout the video. Many, very many subtitle mistakes told you a computer program worked them out, not accurately tho, far from it, like when you used the word "Inert" it read as "a nerd" it was one of the funnier ones but msny a sub' laugh throughout.
    Somebody once kept lending me bits of their superiour hi-fi pieces when they often upgraded but i couldn't even afford the fair s/h prices they were wanting, i was game for a listen to whatever but when they took some pieces away, it would take me 4 or 5 days to get used to my own system again, but it gave me inspiration to aspire to some pieces, particularly a Krell power amp & Tannoy 15" dual concentrics, which i did buy & own a couple of years after being loaned a pair, they made my previous 3-way Kef Concertos which i really liked once, sound like toy speakers. Such is the road to seeking perfection, it has a start but no end until you realise perfection in audio don't exist

    How do you find the acoustic panels you have, do they make a significant improvement to the sound in your room?I've been looking at a new amp, but can't help think that some room treatment would have a much bigger effect, albeit not quite as exciting!

    About 20 years ago. Me & an old girlfriend. We're shopping at Scottsdale mall we decided to a hifi boutique. Where they were a wilson dealership. I heard the sabrinas ( ? ) pumping out 100 watts & not even working hard. Set the bar for me. Even to this day. Cheers from Arizona USA 🇺🇸

    John I like your delivery and attitude, your videos are informative and fun. The kit that you review will probably always be out of my price range, though my own set up I am very happy with, after updating after 11 years of a Roksan Kandy K2 amp (very tired) and Marantz CD player (I know). I've recently gone Audiolab 8300A and 8300CDQ and with the help of content creators like yourself I have had the experience of listening to DSD256 and MQA through my Epos Elan 10 speakers and Rel T-3 Sub. I have started a Tidal playlist as I have a similar taste in music. Keep the content coming, I've enjoyed every one so far :)

    Great review. Wilson speakers are the best at all of the price points in which they participate. I have had the privilege to listen to all of them up to the XVX.They are amazing. You are correct about the TuneTot. The only thing missing is visceral bass. But the next model up, the SabrinaX can fill your apartment with all the bass you could eat. Try to review them next!

Funny enough, currently there are a few audio reviews/taste tests of the Wilson tune-tots on RUclips and they sound amazing from what I’ve heard. Ps. dig your descriptive vocabulary.!! Awaiting for the new purchase announcement 🎄. Also, I think just reviewing one product with no comparison is just fine…

    Well done, I enjoyed the review. Have you noticed what a pain in the ass a lot of "high end" speakers are to drive? Wilson, Vandersteen, Magnapan etc.... seem intent on frying our wallets with speakers that insist on dropping into the sub 3ohm impedance range, some even dip into the sub 2ohm area.

    • @lennybernie7987
      @lennybernie7987 3 года назад

      Magnepans generally like amps that can produce a lot of power but they are not known for dipping into an impedance range that give amps difficulties.

    • @bikemike1118
      @bikemike1118 2 года назад +1

      Those Tunetots only „drop down“ to 6.6 ohms….so NO drop there. Apart from that: if you buy a quality amplifier (not a flimsy receiver or something of that matter) you’ll never have a problem with driving other bigger Wilson’s either!

    Well 75% of what you review I wouldn't want ( all in ear any portable gear over $500 ). But I like your reviews to no end. So just to see what people are willing to waste there money on. I've a budget account that when I have money or extra money it goes in there. When you review something on the pricy side. I increase the target / trigger point to take it out and spend it on something.
    I like low end in my system / music. But to me bass is the noise these kids make when they listen to that noise they call music.

    He said something interesting "this is not a proper review because I didn't compare them to anything else" I don't think comparisons are always necessary. If you listen to them and they are great, then just review them for what they are. I think the buyer already has a built-in idea of the class. If someone is reviewing a Honda Accord there is an understanding that it's being compared to Toyotas, Nissans, Kias etc. I think our need for comparison has to do with our buyer's remorse and always wanting to make sure we made the correct decision. Just listening to John, you can tell that he loved them, that alone should tell you how good they are.

    It would be naive to expect bass from these. No bookshelf is able to deliver true full range. For the Tune Tot a user should add a sub of Wilson's or any other, REL for example. And it will be magic for a total price from 17k up to 25k depending on a sub chosen

    Like your story about those Wilsons, I do have a strong opinion about this subject to my opinion it is the quality of the filter components you are hearing ore better not hearing, most commercial speakers have lousy filters they measure quite well but soundwise are dull ore worse.
    This is the reason you should build your own speakers really. For 1000- 1500 euro's you can have the same ore better loudspeakers. Anyhow i recognised a lot of your words for my own selfmade speakers (my audiodealer compared them with the Wilson Audio Duette II)
    Greetings and thanks for your always nice reviews Hans
