I bought an open box set of the Heco (Hay-co) Aurora 300s a few months back (for $200). Wow are they nice! Smooth and punchy, with realistic natural tone from instruments. I recommended them to a friend but they seem to have vanished over night. Can’t even find them used…which says a lot. People don’t want to sell them, and I don’t blame them. I have a a pair of the Aurora 1000’s and everything Danny said is spot on. Nice review. I enjoy the speakers for 2 channel listening when I just want to have fun and relax and not get bogged down with critical listening. They seem to play all genres well and at their very affordable price point I don’t think you’ll find better.
Yeah, I do the same with my Aurora 200. I prefer it as you say to relax and listen to music instead of critical listening. For that I use my Q Acoustics Concept 300 but is still funny I sometimes prefer the Auroras regardless the big price difference.
Lots of things right, perhaps this is your new, non-GR, reference considering price $600 is dirt cheep for a speaker that measures this good. Do a "Danny" upgrade and be happy for years... This has got to be one of my favorites, Great video and thanks for sharing.
Kind of their own fault. Magnat flooded the market with super cheap, mostly low quality mass products, especially during the 90's (like Infinity and JBL did for example). Their products now are great, but its still hard to get rid of the bad reputaion.
Not "fancy" enough of a price. If they just doubled or tripled the price of their speakers, and added the word "Audiophile" all over the packaging I bet they would sell like "hot cakes" and be "the new thing". Sorry I almost forgot, they would also need to hire an 8 year old to design their cabinets. The more money you spend, the uglier the speaker cabinets become. And these speakers look obviously "too cool" and might actually match your house and decor so "Audiophiles" will never buy them if they look remotely cool and sleek. lol. You familiar Wilson Audio Speakers? They have a pair of speakers for like $25,000 and they look just like a pair of old trash cans. Just a 4 foot tall round cylinder. Like The big ones you keep outside the house for the garbage man. When you have visitors, I wonder how many try to use them as a garbage can. LOL I have never understood that. That's the reason I love the Klipsch LaScala speakers. Heard them in person, fantastic speaker that looks like a well made piece of furniture. And also my limit on price for any pair of speakers even if i were to win the Lotto. There's too many today trying to make ends meet, some even in your own family, that if won the Lotto I would put to work as my personal servant's, but pay them well. LOL Just kidding. I'd pay them minimum wage. LOL :)
@@andykeena8767 If someone sends that set or at least the mains and/or center in to GR Research to measure and potentially upgrade, THEN this becomes much more relevant info.
This is the first time I have watched a DR review and thought man, I might need to go get a set of those. For the price point with the fix, this looks like a good deal.
Thanks for the video, but this is one of those speakers i don't ever want to mess with. For me they sound perfect, and i can listen hours on these. In fact, there's sometimes that i prefer to relax with them instead of "critical" listening with my Q Acoustics Concept 300.
If GR was a car tuner... "just drop some No Rez in that red Ferrari, swap the 12 cylinder with an LS, put some softer springs in it, swap the manual for a CVT and paint it blue!!"... and "just drop an LS in that Cavalier, put some stiffer springs in it, swap the automatic for a CVT and paint it blue!!" and everything comes out as a blue '78 Buick Le Sabre with an LS swap and CVT that measures perfect!!! :)
It's nice to see manufacturers designing things for "the common man" that sound good. When some people hear the phrase 'designed to a price point' they take that as a negative statement. Sure, It would be great if money wasn't an object and everyone could own the perfect ideal sound system. But in the real world there are people who can't spend $10,000 plus on speakers. It's nice when companies remember that fact, and make affordable gear. Designing to a price point, when done well, gives more people an opportunity to have a nice sounding system... Then, Danny gives people an opportunity to take them to the next level!
I just ordered these to replace 37 year old DBX SOUNDFIELD 100. I actually think the soundfields still sound pretty good, but my 62 year old ears might be playing tricks on me. I think it will be $1200 well spent, and I will not be buying anything further. I'm glad Danny was pretty impressed, as it gives me more reassurance in my purchase. Audio Advice in Raleigh mentioned they probably will not be getting these again, so hopefully I caught a diamond in the rough - before they're gone for good. I am now subscribed to this channel - really fascinating content, even for extremely non science minded folk like me. God Bless....😎
Love mine especially for less than the $1200/ pr I paid. To be fair everything no matter what it is, is built to a price point. Finding the sweet spot as a consumer is an art. The upgrade kit costs more than the speakers plus labor.
It's amazing after being into home stereo and surround sound since I was a teenager, to 20 + years installing car stereos in boats and cars, and spending a great deal of my time researching which brands are worth your money (there are over 200 aftermarket car stereo brands sold in the U.S. 98% of which are made in China naturally. Meaning 95% are not worth your time or money. lol) that you still come across another new brand of speakers or stereo equipment. And you're thinking: "okay, must be a new brand". Nope. Been around 22 years. It's crazy!
I've had a pair of these for about 2 years now and am very happy with them. Considering how acoustically destructive my living room is, they produce fairly good imaging and soundstage. Once I'm finished building my listening room I'll probably be moving these down there, so, I am very interested in the upgrade package.
BAck in mid-1980's, I sold a pair of HECO LAB3 loudspeakers (I was doing research in audio while also working in a used audio gear store inMtl). These monsters were a 4 way, 13 driver loudspeaker system that offered adjustments to adapt to room location of the loudspeakers themselves. They sounded "Big". Not my favorite, but a tchnically impressive design nonetheless (with the lower frequency driver pointing to the ceiling!) As for a few years later (early 1992-93) I was running a lab in audio design and we had a demo room where the humidifier went "kaput"... the static buildup was insane (because of the synthetic carpet in there) and upon wanting to touch the preamp of a hi-power Rotel top of the line combo stereo system... zap! static discharge with an audible loud "TIC" in my prototype loudspeakers... The result? Two fried Top of the line Dynaudio tweeter drivers to replace. that was a 400$ error one can never forget and we made sure the humidifier was always working well as of this date ;) Cheers!
I'm guessing the bucking magnet is on the mid and tweeter because the center channel and bookshelves use the same drivers. They didn't do the larger drivers because it wasnt needed. Why have 2 different drivers? one with a bucking magnet and one without. It's a way to save money.
Danny, please do your reviews in a lighter background or room . Black speakers and drivers blend into the black background and dissappear. Thanks. P.s. love your work!
The more intesting line to listen to good recordings is the Heco Celan (now Celan Revolution). 👉The monitor, Heco Celan Revolution 3 is very interesting by quality and price in EU.
Really, you've never heard of Heco?!?!? I consider you to be among the top speaker gurus on the web. From all the speakers I've listened to over the years, I consider Heco's to be the best. Please take a look at their vintage speakers. They made linear speakers back in the days when they had to calculate crossovers manually, without microphones or Clio. My first encounter with Heco was a P-6000 speaker. That speaker was so ugly and badly designed that I initially thought it was garbage, but when I listened to it, I was absolutely shocked. When I removed the back, I was shocked again-the crossover was a huge 9.8 x 9.8 inch board full of massive air-core inductors organized in a non-coupling manner. That's when I realized that Heco is one of the giants.
I've never heard of them either. Pretty obscure brand where I live. In any case, no one is going to have heard of every speaker or speaker brand that was ever made. I don't see a problem.
I think this speaker maybe sound very close to a ADS L810 both use paper cone the only difference is this use a 6 inch midrange and the ADS a dome midrange, now I'm curious if they go flat to at least 35 hz which is for me acceptable to not add a subwoofer, I don't rely on specs I prefer measured with the same equipment you have that is a shame why you don't expose frequency response down to 20 hz on the graphics but anyway this speakers may give a lot of sound for it's price, I wonder if you prefer them to Q Acoustics 5040 if you have heard them of course, thanks for this video
Now that might be "the most" important piece of information I have heard this year! I know Cerwin Vega were part of Gibsom Guitars, and then got bought out around 2019 by a "Holding Company". And the quality of Cerwin Vega speakers dropped. But I have noticed them having some new offerings recently and have been curious. I don't care what anybody says, I owned 2 pair of Cerwin Vegas tower speakers, both the 10" and 12" - 3 way speakers. The 10" I was able to fit in the back of my 91 Escort perfectly (I was in college then. Even though a broke college student I saved up and bought a pair of cerwin Vegas new, I think $500 for the pair. Did not have plans to put in my car till one day I just for kicks thought I'd see if they would fit. Certainly there was no way. Way! They fit perfectly so wouldn't move around. LOL And then I needed another pair for the home. LOL For the price Cerwin Vega back then competed with speakers more than twice the price. The bass response was so good. And knowing what I do today, you could take those speakers, install an upgraded crossover, and then they'd go from good to great. Seen it done. Same with upgrading the midrange speaker. That was the weak driver in the speaker, the woofer and tweeter being very good. I have alot of good memories with those speakers growing up. What's a road trip if you can't crank up your favorite tunes to help keep you awake, and just make the journey complete? And two 10 inch tower speakers did just that. They fit in the hatchback portion with the rear seat up. Really surprised me. I could open the hatchback and you could hear them 3-4 blocks away. Good times - just maybe not for the neighbors. LOL And then at the end of the roadtrip, get to your destination Ears ringing. "What, what did you say? I can't hear a thing your saying".. LOL Thanks for the info. Maybe Cerwin is back on track again. Today I've become a rather proud endorser of JBL. Just have started to really like some of their offerings being able to afford them finally. You have to watch, they make some "mainstrem" crap. But then, if you search you can find some real gems that are usually not very "popular". I was able to pick up a JBL Surround system, my neighbors right next door my house, they called the cops 13 times that 1st month I got the system. LOL.. I'd crank the shit out of the system for 15 minutes (once the calling the cops thing happened instead of saying something to me) so 15 minutes it's shaking the walls. Then I'd turn of the stereo. Wait about 10 minutes, and yep, knock on the door and it's 5-0. We got a complaint of a loud stereo. But I don't hear anything. LOL. Yeah, neighbors need to be cool with each other. And we are now. But yeah, It got to the point the cops after never hearing a loud stereo but once, the cops would pull up front of the house, park on the street and honk their horn. I'd go outside and they'd be like: "You having any problems tonight? " Me: "No Officer". Cop: "Yeah I didn't think so". And drive off. The look on my neighbor's faces was priceless! It Helps too if ya got a brother-in-law a cop. LOL ! :)
Since the grid connects by magnets, it's painfully easy to add magnets to the grid that face one direction on the top and reverse them on the bottom and also within the speaker mounts so that it's impossible to put the grid on upside down.
It takes a helluva lot of power to blow out those resistors and tweeters. I have a sneaking suspicion that the owner may have hearing loss problems. I’ve built many speakers using 5-watt tweeter resistors and have never blown one, despite reaching extremely loud output levels.
I have the bookshelves of these in my office. They are pleasant for music while I'm working for sure - but the bookshelves need a subwoofer for my tastes.
Heco is a very good German company , I have had two speakers from them , both very decent for the price . Do not remember de model of the most expensive one ,…I think it was the celan 300 monitors
If the resistor is in series before a LC network, blowing the tweeter open due to excessive power (clipping, EQ, volume, whatever) suddenly results in a dead short on the resistor/amp at one frequency. So if it continues to be played, yeah. Very common design too.
Interesting both tweets opened up, 𝘼𝙉𝘿 a voltage drop meltdown on the board! Sounds like a helluva party jammin' away ... until "hey, HEY! ... what happened to the highs?" Nice speakers.
Power amps can take off and oscillate at very high frequency. This will also burn out the tweeters so called "zobel network on the amps. Can also do the same damage with a signal generator... Too high amplitude at high frequency.
Danny u should try Heco Celan Revolution 9, very nice speaker but still I had massive crossover upgrade and now they sound as they should in the first place....same for the heco new statement speaker.
@@ShaunFulmer I didn't do it myself, I had it done by someone, but I did the wiring inside the speakers myself ( original cables are sh.t) my crossover due to size is in a separate box outside the speakers.
In all fairness these are built to a price point there is no budget for audiophile crossover parts snd wiring,as evidenced by more than doubling the $600 fair price, although i think heco could of upgraded those parts for $300, granted probably not as high quality as the ones Danny would use but much better than the ones used now
Maybe they should put their company name on top of the grills so they won't get put on upside down Danny have you ever tested a tower speaker like Goldenear that has built-in powered subs? Be interesting to see how the crossover is designed
Even his light knocking on the side panel reveals it is a mess of a cab! Don't waste your money on that! Listen to these Uglytones between 04:30 and 04:40 !!! This cab needs a substancial physical upgrade!
Not that they are true audiophile or Hi Fi, but I would like to see you examine a pair of PSB Image 2b... got them when they were already 17 years old and they sounded truly amazing. They were really heavy for not that big of a monitor / bookshelf speaker. They handled so many different genres of music well, some more well than others. Im really curious as to build quality because they seem like they could've been more than $399 a pair new in 2000 / 2001.
Hoping and praying for upgrade kits for some Magnat Supreme 2002’s and Monolith Encore T6’s. I currently have both pair with not a whole lot $$$ in either one and feel like they both could use some help. 🤞🏾
Looks like a 90 db sensitivity, maybe, but you never mentioned it. Is the Tweeter also a cloth or paper tweeter, ya didn't mention, we're not fond of paper & cloth.
You said you like paper cone drivers at least twice. What about Kevlar like the Wharfedale Lintons and the first KLH Kendalla. Shouldn't they potentially last longer?
Forgive me if you've answered this question before. Since crossover parts seem to be the overarching issue for most speakers, how do you feel about electronic crossovers?
@@obijuan8466 No, not really. They don't take into account the actual response of the drivers, acoustic offset, voice coil offset, surface reflections of the baffle, edge diffraction, etc. They are just textbook slopes.

I have a set of Revel that I'd live to rebuild the X over with better parts. Better wiring too. The problem is, I have ZERO skills to build anything like that. Oh well. They sound great as they are. I just know how much better they could sound...
Danny has videos showing how to assemble a crossover. It’s not so difficult. The only concern would be whether the standard crossover already produces an accurate response, otherwise you’ll be building a better quality version of an inaccurate crossover!!
If you're referring to the Heco-Hennel name, they were best known for their line of David speakers by Visonik in the mid-late 70's which also collaborated with M&K's subwoofers to create the first consumer-level 2.1 sat/sub system. I have a pair of their David 502's which are excellent, but I also have a David 30 (single speaker) which I'd like to send to GR-Research and see how it measures straight out of curiosity. In fact I even have the original owner's manual which includes the frequency response of all the David models (30, 502, 602, etc.) The only issue is it's missing the original woofer, so I need to find a single OEM woofer for it. Otherwise the tweeter and crossover are original and working fine. Edit: Yes indeed, those auroras are made by THE same Heco-Hennel company that produced the Davids!
All of our speakers use higher quality drivers, parts, cabinets, etc. We really don't make a big speaker with budget level parts. Everything we have is a league above.
@dannyrichie9743 that's interesting to hear Danny. I was actually looking at a pair of their speakers as an addition to my system. What's your recommendation for speakers in the $1000-1500 range?
It's really good but still needs an upgrade. What else is new? Is there a speaker made that you could recommend and not need to double or triple the cost with an upgrade? Alas, I think not.
We even offer upgrades on all of our own products. Everything can be upgrade to some degree. Every speaker manufacturer even comes out with new models that are an improvement over the models they were making.
HECO is owned by VOXX Corp (formerly Audiovox) who also owns Klipsch and Advent with the latter sadly relegated to car electronics only- no more home audio. For awhile some HECO and Advent speaker models were identical except for the badge.
You won't see the cabinet resonances in the frequency response. I have a video coming up on a speaker that had a LOT of cabinet resonances. So I took some accelerometer measurements to so what was going on.
Unless I heard wrong, I am pretty sure that he said that the only iron core was on the woofers. The tweeter is good and not the reason for it being blown.
The very lowest area will actually be up slightly do to the lower DCR coil we used on it. The mid-bass is not changed. I only softened the upper mid-bass where there was a peak.
What? $751 for all new crossovers, new wiring, solder, heat shrink, a set of tube connectors, 5 sheets of No Rez, and all our support (for the PAIR). That's a great deal!

Lots of things right, perhaps this is your new, non-GR, reference considering price $600 is dirt cheep for a speaker that measures this good. Do a "Danny" upgrade and be happy for years... This has got to be one of my favorites, Great video and thanks for sharing.
Heco/Magnat are sadly underrated by Audiophiles. I dont know why...maybe not enough fancy Marketing
LOL :)
Adorama has put Magnat speakers up for sale several times, floor speakers, bookshelf, center and 12” sub all for $699, free shipping. Crazy price.
@@SchmatzDieKatz ive only heard magnat on youtube, but the brands speakers have never impressed me
@@andykeena8767 If someone sends that set or at least the mains and/or center in to GR Research to measure and potentially upgrade, THEN this becomes much more relevant info.
This is the first time I have watched a DR review and thought man, I might need to go get a set of those. For the price point with the fix, this looks like a good deal.
$751 to $916 for the upgrade.
Thanks for the video, but this is one of those speakers i don't ever want to mess with. For me they sound perfect, and i can listen hours on these. In fact, there's sometimes that i prefer to relax with them instead of "critical" listening with my Q Acoustics Concept 300.
Love your work Danny
Danny’s detractors always scream he never gives positive reviews of the speakers that come to his shop and yet here we are😂
Hey, sometimes we get some good ones.
Excellent vid. I testify to the sonic improvement of the No-rez and Sonicaps on my Pedest'ale Tower speakers. Seriously. Thanks, Danny
I almost bought those a few years ago, sadly they are not sold anymore.
@The_Story_Channel I use a Parasound 2125v.2 for each speaker , mono bridged, toed and raked, quite the value.
It's crazy!
I have the 300's and love 'em. Not the last word in transparency but they sound right for a budget monitor
I've had a pair of these for about 2 years now and am very happy with them. Considering how acoustically destructive my living room is, they produce fairly good imaging and soundstage. Once I'm finished building my listening room I'll probably be moving these down there, so, I am very interested in the upgrade package.
The white version of these speakers are currently on sale (7/16/2024) for $653 a pair which makes them even more of a killer deal!
Where, I can't find this deal
Currently $594 each..however, Heco is going away.
Not my favorite, but a tchnically impressive design nonetheless (with the lower frequency driver pointing to the ceiling!)
As for a few years later (early 1992-93) I was running a lab in audio design and we had a demo room where the humidifier went "kaput"... the static buildup was insane (because of the synthetic carpet in there) and upon wanting to touch the preamp of a hi-power Rotel top of the line combo stereo system... zap! static discharge with an audible loud "TIC" in my prototype loudspeakers... The result? Two fried Top of the line Dynaudio tweeter drivers to replace. that was a 400$ error one can never forget and we made sure the humidifier was always working well as of this date ;)
Cheers!
I'm guessing the bucking magnet is on the mid and tweeter because the center channel and bookshelves use the same drivers. They didn't do the larger drivers because it wasnt needed. Why have 2 different drivers? one with a bucking magnet and one without. It's a way to save money.
I keep hearing good things about the Heco Aurora's. It is pronounced more like Heyco in German.
Correct. HAYKO.
Danny, please do your reviews in a lighter background or room . Black speakers and drivers blend into the black background and dissappear. Thanks. P.s. love your work!

I bought the Aurora 700, very good speaker for the price!
I am from sweden and I belived thats heco were well known speaker brand
Love mine. Got them for only $400 each.
Heco is making the new line of affordable speakers for CerwinVega! (LA Series) And I have heard really good things.
LOL ! :)
Spent Sunday with my mate who has their £20,000 Heco Direkt Dreiklang, they are pretty spectacular sounding 👏🏿
I had a Magnat Ma1000 int amp which i heard the demo in the store and bought it home, it was effortless for my Harbeth P3esr
If I remember well back in the 70s or 80s Heco several of the speaker brands I was selling at the time were using Heco drivers.
Love mine. Wish all of their stuff was available here in the US.
It doesn't have to be loud levels. It could have been a lower powered receiver that was clipping.
@@dannyrichie9743 True that
1:19 He's upping his game. All audio reviewers need one of these for speaker intros!
I have the bookshelves of these in my office. They are pleasant for music while I'm working for sure - but the bookshelves need a subwoofer for my tastes.

Heco is a very good German company ,
I have had two speakers from them , both very decent for the price .
Do not remember de model of the most expensive one ,…I think it was the celan 300 monitors
Yes, just searched the net …..celan 300 indeed ,
Very good monitors , and not that expensive .
Sounds like a helluva party jammin' away ... until "hey, HEY! ... what happened to the highs?"
Nice speakers.
Power amps can take off and oscillate at very high frequency.
This will also burn out the tweeters so called "zobel network on the amps. Can also do the same damage with a signal generator... Too high amplitude at high frequency.

@@ShaunFulmer I didn't do it myself, I had it done by someone, but I did the wiring inside the speakers myself ( original cables are sh.t) my crossover due to size is in a separate box outside the speakers.

I have been conceding these speakers, was wondering about quality, thanks for the review. If I get I would high think about upgrading.
Not much info available, but it looks like their flagship is the Heco Direkt Dreiklang, 3 way Floor Standing Speaker for $25K.
In all fairness these are built to a price point there is no budget for audiophile crossover parts snd wiring,as evidenced by more than doubling the $600 fair price, although i think heco could of upgraded those parts for $300, granted probably not as high quality as the ones Danny would use but much better than the ones used now
I have heard of them and they have gotten good PR from serious reviewers. But I've only heard of their Bookshelf units.
Maybe they should put their company name on top of the grills so they won't get put on upside down Danny have you ever tested a tower speaker like Goldenear that has built-in powered subs? Be interesting to see how the crossover is designed
Given the damage to the speaker's x-over, I'd consider also putting one of those auto-reset fuses in line with the tweeter circuit.
Even his light knocking on the side panel reveals it is a mess of a cab! Don't waste your money on that!
Listen to these Uglytones between 04:30 and 04:40 !!!
This cab needs a substancial physical upgrade!
They are actually braced pretty well. The front and top are not wood they are a resin that resists resonance. There are a bunch of braces in the box.
Sounds like the amp was clipping.
The buck magnets probably because those drivers are an old model intended originally for another purpose.

My personal favorite is our NX-Treme with triple OB servo subs.
At 4:14 Is that speaker moving on its own? Danny, I think you’ve got a poltergeist 🤷♂️ 👻
Do you think their 700 series floor speaker will be a 4 ohm speaker, and fairly good as well?
You said you like paper cone drivers at least twice. What about Kevlar like the Wharfedale Lintons and the first KLH Kendalla. Shouldn't they potentially last longer?
There is actually little to no wear on the cones.
could the wrongly applied grille touch the tweeter and contribute to it blowing ???
Nope, it doesn't touch it.
Forgive me if you've answered this question before. Since crossover parts seem to be the overarching issue for most speakers, how do you feel about electronic crossovers?
There are good ones and bad ones, and just like passive filters they need to be designed specifically for each speaker.
@@dannyrichie9743 Is there such a thing as a good VARIABLE electronic crossover? Like the kind used in multi-million dollar sound reinforcement?
@@obijuan8466 No, not really. They don't take into account the actual response of the drivers, acoustic offset, voice coil offset, surface reflections of the baffle, edge diffraction, etc. They are just textbook slopes.

Danny has videos showing how to assemble a crossover. It’s not so difficult. The only concern would be whether the standard crossover already produces an accurate response, otherwise you’ll be building a better quality version of an inaccurate crossover!!
Some of the Revels are well designed, they just use fair to mediocre parts. So somethings just a few parts swaps can go a long way.

Where do you get your capacitors? Do sell them.
I buy them from the manufacturer. Yes, I sell capacitors.
Didn't Heco make the Krypton series which was branded as Advent Heritage back in the early mid 2000's?
Have you evaluated any klipsch r-610f towers?
No, I have not.
Is that the estimated in-room frequency response? If so, then the upper treble is too hot.
No, these are actual speaker measurements (no room reflections).
It's above 12khz, doubt you will hear that. Off axis it smooths out.
Which set of your speakers would compare to these?
All of our speakers use higher quality drivers, parts, cabinets, etc. We really don't make a big speaker with budget level parts. Everything we have is a league above.
Does Heco own Odeon which are high end German horns?
Is that ignition coils? Or coil springs? My guess is the former.
Does anyone know where I can get my mid range speakers from Infinity Quantum line series repaired
Danny, have you ever listened to any (ascend acoustics ) speakers?

Why are speakers, 'things' . . . ?
Because they’re not persons or places.
You want to refer to them as "her", like battleships?
sentimental value
its not like the speaker has big resonation problems looking at he freq response
You won't see the cabinet resonances in the frequency response. I have a video coming up on a speaker that had a LOT of cabinet resonances. So I took some accelerometer measurements to so what was going on.
That ab amplifier could not handle 4 ohm and fried the tweeter, replace the induct with air core, get better tweeter
Unless I heard wrong, I am pretty sure that he said that the only iron core was on the woofers. The tweeter is good and not the reason for it being blown.
why take out the low end? it's voiced hat way!
So, when we modify speakers, we should never change the voicing? I suggest you have another listen.
The very lowest area will actually be up slightly do to the lower DCR coil we used on it. The mid-bass is not changed. I only softened the upper mid-bass where there was a peak.
