I forgot how much I love her music! Come Away With Me is another great song!
Her father was famous sitar player Ravi Shankar. She has a half sister Anoushka who plays sitar and they have recorded several songs together-Traces of You is beautiful!

I'm glad your first Norah experience was a live performance. She's a master at what she does.

Love this, loved the album. I got it in 2002 roughly when it came out. You should listen to the album. Everything you said is spot-on. I felt all those emotions you describe because Norah gets you to experience all her emotions. I have to agree with the last comment; the original is much better! This one is too jazzy. This song is more bluesy and not intended to be as jazzed with 251's.

If you get a chance, give a listening to Come Away With Me from the album of the same title.
    She really is beautifully unique.

Nah, Norah's essentially on auto pilot, here. It's good generally because most won't even get to where Norah's on auto pilot, but compared to how she CAN sing it, it's not even close. There are some live versions of this and some of her other songs where you won't be able to believe that someone can be as good as that. One specific version of this song, live from a 2007 performance, especially springs to mind.

That performance and the production isn't near as good as the album recording. Like the other commenter mentioned....listen to the album.

There are versions of this live, that put the studio recording to shame. Which is saying an awful lot because the studio version was literally a one take masterpiece. The recording they did for the first sessions is the song on the album, and yet over the years, Norah's done live versions of the song that have literally trounced it.

Don’t like this version much, the original is much better, more feeling. Listen to that one when you can. ALWAYS do the album version first 👍🏼

This is brilliant, and MUCH harder to sing than you can imagine!

No, this is run of the mill, for Norah at least. There are videos you can find where Norah "really" goes after the vocal and it's the best it can ever possibly be and anyone could ever hope to achieve. In one version from, I believe 2007 it was, she sings this and I swear to God she may as well be an angel.
