    Thank you for the brief overview!
    We are currently assembling our first Big Meter. The most important question I ask myself all the time is the future compatibility with the Hemera extruders. That would be the most important update with regard to the reliability of the Modix printers....

      Glad you found it helpful! So are you wondering how to put a Hemera on a Modix printer? Because if so, then I've got you covered. We designed a bracket to mount the Hemera on a Modix, and then also put together a full Revo Hemera printhead with all of the necessary wire connectors, wire lengths, etc.

      @@ecostruder Many thanks!I know the link and it's great that you have made the effort.
      However, I was hoping for Modix's commitment to develop an upgrade that would allow two print heads to be used. Also, importing from the US to Europe will be too expensive for us, for components developed in the UK.

      Modix has announced their IDEX system for improved dual extrusion, but I am not aware of any efforts to use Hemeras in that design. I totally understand that shipping printheads internationally probably isn't terribly practical. But one of the great things about Modix machines is that they are totally modifiable and upgradeable. So if you want dual Hemeras you can whip up a design and it will work on your Modix machine (assuming you do it right). Many other industrial printer manufacturers don't have that sort of flexibility--you have to use their printheads, filament, slicer, etc. and cannot change it. None of our Modix machines are stock :-)

    The best thing you can do to improve your Modix is to immigrate to Duet3 MB6HC v1.02 + (one or more) 3HC v1.02

      Duet3 is definitely very nice. I love the way the boards are distributed. But I've found Duet2 to work very well in the various machines I've got it in as well. I don't think you can go wrong either way!

    Any chance you would share a working prusa slicer profile?

    • @ecostruder
      @ecostruder  Год назад

      Hi there! I have some slicer profiles that work for my Modix printers, but they are v3 machines which have been highly modified to make them better production printers. Modix has slicer profiles in their Customers Zone, so that's where I'd suggest getting a profile for your Gen 4. I hope that helps!

      @@ecostruder i have a gen 4 idex config. Cant really get the copy mode/dual print mode to work. I would like to print 2 parts at the same time to double my production on some parts. Have you solved that?

    • @ecostruder
      @ecostruder  Год назад

      @@jensedlund5766 That sounds like a great use for an IDEX system. I don't have any Gen 4 machines in my shop (other than the ones we have assembled for customers) so I don't have any experience with their Gen 4 IDEX system, either. In fact, we no longer work with Modix. So I'd suggest reaching out to their support team. I know they were planning to support duplication mode (as I call it), but I don't know if they've gotten that profile put together yet. Good luck!

    Will these changes go across the board of the product lineup or just a certain size? I didn't catch that in the video. Thank you
    P.S. great beard bro.

      While there are some features specific to the larger machines (such as the filament guide), most everything I mentioned in the video is for all 5 members of the Generation 4 family. One additional thing to note: there will not be a Big-40 in Generation 4. But I think there are still some Big-40 V3 machines available if that's what people are interested in.
      Glad you like the beard!

      Hello there! Our shop is in Des Moines, Iowa and we'd be delighted to have you stop by. We have several Modix machines up and running in our production print farm (as well as several other brands). However, we are no longer working with Modix. We've moved on to bigger and better things (announcements coming soon)!

      @@ecostruder So, which machines do u sell now? Just received my Big 120x-v4 and did the first prints. Their documentation sucks ;-)

      @@MegaDraadloos Our main focus has been engineering and then building the HSP1-I industrial IDEX 3D printer. This is a high spec machine that is really not intended to compete with Modix machines in any way (it's a whole different tier of machine). hartsmartproducts.com/pages/hsp-1
      The closest thing to a Modix that we sell now is the Project R3D Talos line of large format printers. They are very similar in a lot of ways to the Modix machines, but made and supported in USA, and with a lot of different design choices. Also, assembly takes just a few hours, rather than a couple of weeks. hartsmartproducts.com/pages/project-r3d
