What Audio school did you attend? I ask because you are so on point. I wish i knew about you before i attended audio school. I would have saved thousands.
Johnnie Jackson full sail
Indeed Iam a full sail grad !
@@HelpMeDevvon are you still in the Orlando area?
Johnnie Jackson haven’t been for 8 years 😭
When my girlfriend yells at me next time during a argument I will say “WOW; this has a lot of Dynamics” thank you king 🤣
I cried bro 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
😂😂
#stolen 🤣😂🤣
@@godkingdlok all good lol
Not everyone knows how to convey knowledge. Devvon is the exception. He has MASTERED it.
Best music engineering channel ever. Love u
Nah fr tho
100
Say it again
If it weren’t for him I dunno if I would of ever progressed on editing vocals fr fr, gotta give devvon his flowers. I don’t understand why he’s not mainstream famous thou as hes so talented and knows what he is on about
This the best vid about compression I've seen to date. Part of it has to do with you being a real artist releasing bangers, that keeps us 'students' way more interested. Maybe it's just me but I can't take advice from someone who does not make quality music. You're a god bro hahaha
KASMADEIT man I really appreciate the compliment seriously!! That means a lot 🙏🏽
KASMADEIT right
KASMADEIT I think you’d miss a lot of valuable advice about audio from engineers, the top mix engineers, Chris lord alge, bob clearmountain, Dave Pensado etc don’t create songs, they just mix
@@user-ij5rs7xq5y the moment you said 'they don't create songs, they just mix' your argument became invalid bro
KASMADEIT KASMADEIT KASMADEIT how about some common sense dude, your statement was that you can’t take advice from people that don’t make quality music, and by from the compliments you were giving Devvon, it’s clear that you were talking about people who write lyrics, melodies and produce beats which can also give engineering advice due to having a lot of insight in every other part of the process. But what I’m telling you is you’re missing valuable information because the top mix engineers don’t normally work in other aspects of the creative process, they just mix
By far the best explanation of Compression ever!
I convinced this is the best producer/artist/engineer youtube page
You're a blessing sent by God. Thank you Devvon 🙏😭❤️
you should most def make one on EQ as well, the best video on Compression ever!!!
Silectah Joseph just made it on my channel because of you check it out!!
This is the best compression for dummies video I’ve ever seen nice job!
This is all needed to hear my entire life. Now I understand everything
I went to school for this and needed a little refresher and I think this is the best I have ever heard this explained.
I love how when you were ready to go off in a tangent about another subject, or piece of gear you stopped and continued with the topic you were on. Shows a lot of self control. We all get like that from time time so thank you for sharing this info with us and can’t wait to continue to learn from you good sir!
The you explain things is absolutely great. Don't think that your are being exagerrated. Not all listeners, R fast. Thank u G! Highly appreciated here in the philippines.
Very useful specially for those who mixes the sounds of our church. God bless you sir.
Wow😊! My God! This is exactly what I was looking for. Bro if you really know how much you saved my mixing. I speak blessings to you and your entire family I pray that The Almighty God Will open doors for you And He Who can see where no one can see, Sees you.
WOOOhh!!! This is called AN EXPLANATION...Thanks a lot!!!
I'm glad I found this video, finally I've found the answer to what attack and release it, thanks man!
from Africa "Angola" to the world, I am just passing by to tell you how much I love your work... hope to get in touch with you for future collab.
You just gave me a new perspective on the attack and release. I realized that when you set the release all the way to the right on the setting it said 5000 ms which means it takes the release 5 second for the release to let go and for the attack set all the way to the right is 500 ms which means 0.5 second for the compressor to start. You explained this way better than my professor 😂 bless up G🙏🏽
I really watch all ya joints to help with my recording process. Keep that good work up bro
Really no one use to brief in detail like this and it was a very good explanation of each setting devon. Tq.
The thing you did with your hand to represent ratio was the best way to explain what it does!
I have subscribed to more than 5 channels try to learn how to do mixing and mastering and so far your channels is the only one that makes me improve my skills....I thank you very much Devvon.
I was laughing and dude literally said , "Don't laugh at me" . Classic moment 😂
Brother, I finally understand all of that!. Thank you very much👍. You are the best❤❤❤I love your tutorials so much.
keep that release farther to the right Devon. beautiful vocal, give it that smooth feel.
Mannnnnnn you are a God given gift to planet earth.....So much knowledge .
lol Devvon just made me understand this, not even other so called producers can do this, nice bro you use your talent to teach not to reach. ❤️
A very well explained video of compression, i understand even more now, thank you so much for the knowledge, you are a real artist, and that's what we are about, the Jackson Twinz.
Thank you very much I been trying to understand this for a very long time. I really like how you explained it.
You explained this so perfect, I always kinda knew this but not enough to explain it. I REALLY got it now
Tbh, it’s hard to hear the difference but your explanations and energy were great
This guy is legit the best out here when it comes to teaching u how to mix and master. He doesn't go too fast and he actually teaches u how to use the damn plugins and all the features it comes with. For literally ANYONE tryna learn how to mix and master for the first time regardless the DAW, I would de recommend watching his vids FIRST. Love the content, makes everything so much easier.
wow bro GOD bless you, wish I could send you a VN to let you know how grateful I am, everything about mixing feels better and easier to understand when you explain it. Thank you!!!!!!!
This is probably the best mixing and production based RUclipsr on the platform. Everything is clearly explained and there's not been one video that I've struggled to understand or wasn't helpful. Thanks guy

Super informative video, thank you. I know what they mean but I have a hard time figuring out what i'm listening for. Your vocal gave me a lot of clarity in that!

Great video. Thanks for breaking it down like this and talking about that feel.
The ABSOLUTE best way I have heard Ratio explained, and the gem is I gave up on Ratio until I saw this. Keep them coming man!

You just a pro bro I have learn a lot from you thanks 🙏...............
Thank you so much for this man. We learn a lot and you did a very good job on how to explain complex things in the best way possible. I am living in a country that few people can relate to this kind of stuff.
the visuals were actually very helpful!!
Best compression vid I've come across. Your tutorials are great man! looking forward to the song as well
This is the best explanation I've seen for these settings on compression. You broke it down very well and now I understand this tool a lot more, thanks man.
Thanks for the concise explanation 👍🏾
This was supremely helpful and I want to thank you very much for taking the time to explain, in detail, the mechanics of how to use compression in a way that was easy to understand. Greatly appreciate it. Much love! ✊🏽✊🏽
Thanks! Dope Video, I find your explanations throughout all these videos in the series to be the best I've ever heard. Keep up the great work!
Swear man your explanations are great
Well done mahn! Quality tutorials ! Keep up! Love it
you are a saint for this, bro.
Thank you a lot Devon!
Excellent explanation!
Thanks! Cleared up a lot... and I immediately applied what you taught.
EXTREMELY great tutorial. The only thing that sucks about youtube is that the website has its own compressor for whatever video you upload. If y'all really want to hear the transients as he moves the attack gain, crank up your volume as loud as you can without damaging your ears so you can hear the tiny nuances of the vocal.
also: would you consider doing a tutorial on Fabfilter's Pro C2? Im curious on how YOU explain that specific compressor. if not, a reply works :)
Gone For Honor multi band compressor is a serious conversation!!! I got ya
Love this! You’re awesome bro!
Very well done this is what I was looking for
Awesome explanation on compression. Great job!
This is a dope video, well explained!
We need more brothas like you 💯💯💯
You rock dude, great teaching I can’t stop watching! Keep it up
Thank you so much now I finally understand! Amazing job explaining!
Thanks proffesor Devvon!
Well done. Great explanation of the basics. Thank you.
SO happy I stumbled upon your video! I'm putting a home studio together and slowly diving into the nuts and bolts of audio recording. This compression video was explained beautifully man, thank you so much!!
Devvon your videos bring the explanation of maths to music in a simple way, it's ALWAYS helpful to have your take on it. Keep up your great work, you legend!
you always simplify and make things easy to understand that other people complicate to explain, thank you 👍
i love u so much that i watch all the way through the ads that pop out during the video so you could get more money
And for this I appreciate you!! 😭
Kudos to this man. 😊 He explained it well detail by detail. Thumbs up. 👍
Thanks for this video. Logical, well worded and comprehensive enough to get a feel for the technology without getting into the weeds.
I love to see videos that give you enough grounding so you can experiment yourself and learn. Subbed!
I know how to use compression, but this video still taught me a couple new ways of looking at it. Can't wait to implement more into my mixes.
