No there hasn't. This is easily the greatest American film ever made. It should be the first thing aspiring film students watch in any American film school. No gimmicks, no computers, just superb acting, writing, editing and cinematography.
I like the pace of the movie. The first hour focuses on the relationship between, Ben and Mrs. Robinson; and the second hour focuses on the relationship between Ben and Elaine.
Does anyone know Burt Ward was originally given the role of Benjamin. Sadly, he wasn't able to get out of his contract for Robin. So, Dustin Hoffman got this career making role.
@cavaleer Precisely. My all-time favorite for those reasons and the fact that I'm a child of the 1960s and it is the quintessential American film of that era.
@54Snickers Bro (or Lady), you're very fortunate if you actually saw this film in the theater. I can only imagine what an experience that must have been.
My friend who attended college at the time said she saw it at a cinema next to the campus. She said the audience all cheered at the end when they got on the bus.
@cavaleer I'm pleased to see that many a movie has been filmed in the bay area. Especially here in Oakland. That's where this scene was filmed. The above Bus scene shows a GM TDH 5301 Bus that I used to ride all throughout my childhood in Oakland.
Oaklandgirlpitlover1 Hate breaking your heart, but 4real: bus scene was filmed in SF. I know. I know buses from the 510 from way back but that scene was filmed on Geary or a street like that in SF. And now Cafe Mediterranean (Coors beer scene) is RIP!!!
2:33 F' Off to everyone: the Mediterranean Café (where Ben (Dustin) was having a cold one is RIP. R I P. As of last November. N F'n FUNNY. I am an East Bay dude who knows that scene and it is tragic. You can go into Moe's across the street and there is the same screenshot of Ben/Dustin at 2:33 with the Coors (?!?!?) on the higher part of the wall across from the check-stand/counter and f' me for not posting a jpg (!)) but WTF...RIP MOE, RIP!!!!!
Both The Graduate and Bonnie and Clyde in the same year. What happened to the movies we love?

It was Hoffman and Ross's big break.
