I love the way it looks out in the sun but under the right lighting, not so much. I appreciate this was meant to be a quick correction job and it looks a lot better but the paint needed going over with a finishing polish with an orange or black pad before the coating to take this to a truly acceptable standard. Someone with a trained eye would think the polishing was rushed or done by a weekend warrior without proper technique or tools unless they'd seen what the paint looked like before.
John you really "saved" that car. It has become incredibly beautiful, and not least you have made the new engine spin and sound fantastic by incredible magic. Great job - I'm totally envious. 👍
I think it's awesome how much work you put into this car and with tremendous results. All that time and effort paid off. I'm awed how you tackle builds like this. You are an inspiration to all. Keep it up!
Seeing your reflection as you rode your scooter beside the Jag too get those awesome montage shots towards the end; I literally thought: "I could Watch Jr Go."
Turned out amazing!!! I hope I can add a different view point without getting slaughtered. On many cars in this condition, sometimes it’s worth a fine 2000 grit orbital sanding (yes it takes away clear), polish it out in a three stage, get it looking amazing and take almost all the scratches out. Yes this limits the life span of the paint. I love this car, but it’s a very nice common car and a resorts doesn’t hurt value all that much if a resorts were ever needed down the road. Add to that the end gol is adding a ceramic coat which is essentially like adding a clear, which allows you to take some more clear off of the car to repair or level the deeper scratches out and prolong the life span of the paint. Just a different angle or view point and I love watching your channel. The jag turned out amazing, and please continue with all the great work and fun things you bring to us to see. Thank you
Please tell me you didn’t one step black paint with compound and go with the combination that had the best defect removal with least amount of haze.it doesn’t take much longer to use a fine polish with maybe a white pad. I know it also comes down to the budget but a few more hours and 2 step is worth the money.
I was thinking the same. Back in the day, we would use the high grit and polish until the polish was all gone. No wiping polish off with the towel. And of course, the lighter grit to get the swirls out, again, letting the machine polish until the polish was gone. Maybe the process has changed with newer compounds.
I agree, that haze is micro marring from the heavy cut compound, a 2nd step with finishing pad and finishing polish would have really made a big difference but I get that you have a budget and the detail dudes time is worth something. Looks great and if you're happy that's all that really matters.
I didn’t want to say anything, but…..yeah. It was a good transformation none the less. Far from perfect, but perfect from afar. Like, 20 ft maybe. But, as mentioned, there were probably time and cost constraints.
John - Great series, I winced a lot on the early episodes with you thinking you could pull the motor just by 'going at it.' The multi-motor build-strip-build was informative and reassured me that I could do that too (I'm original owner 2015 F-Type coupe). Personally, I think the F-Type is the most beautiful car ever built and you really saved this one and made it shine.
Welcome to AMMO-Wichita! You can tell that there's still a lot of haze (fuzzy reflections of the lights) but there's not much else you can do without at least a full re-clear. Looks a million times better than before--nice job, Statue! And I love the wheels too.
Looks a lot better outside then it did inside the shop. It look very hazing inside. Probably cause of the shop lights . But it looks very sharp in the sun
this was a good challenge - noticable difference - some fisheyes are just from bad paint job - good luck on finding new place - buy some land and build from scratch - it will only take a couple days to write it up - location is everything - you want 3-4 bay and attached office - 80x24 - 1920 sq ft and you want space to build out another garage for storage or just running 2 shops - a smaller place will be way more manageable - also consider buying something and remodel but really you want to diy build and get what you want plus save money #sweat equity
Thank you for this series My 2017 lie coolant Yesterday Trailered to dealer - assumed it was the coolant pipes Dealer did a pressure test - Sent pictures of the issue and pleased with that New coolant pipes, recommend manifold, thermostat (both preventative) What was odd the oil had not been changed in 20k miles - which was still good very pleased So thanks for the series - awesome videos hope you enjoyed the f type :)
Brilliant, the video I've been waiting for and the culmination of all the effort you put in. It now looks like one well cared for car and I hope it gives you much joy cos it is truly deserved.
Statue is pretty much correct. The car actually needs a sand down and full respray, even with all the tricks it's still not going to ever be what you want it to be. You got it cheap enough, it's probably worth it. As Hoovie, he's got a really good body guy.
Never tried Avalon King, but have sued Adams graphene ceramic polish. These ceramic polishes rock! But you really do need to apply indoors out of the sun. Sun cures it too quickly and then it's a bear to polish off.
A lot of hard work to complete this transition with excellent results. You are fortunate to be able to have the tools and ability to complete the task yourself. Paying the labor costs would make a project of this magnitude cost prohibitive.
There's a button inside the car. If you push the button it stays up even when parked. Otherwise it's automatic and will raise at 63 MPH, and lowers at 45 MPH.
This has been a really interesting series of videos, and it's been fascinating watching the transformation. However, I don't think that's anywhere near a 95% correction detail. I get the paint was pretty hammered, but it still looked like there was work to be done to get it anywhere near 85%, let alone 95%.
i 100% understand, testing with the least damaging method i.e DA buffer with a given pad, compound and pressure. I would not have been afraid to hit it with a rotary and a medium cut pad and a lighter abrasive. Testing the the paint depth is key either way.
The Statue looks good in that Jag. If he can drive it with the roof closed, he should change his mind about lighting it on fire. He did some amazing polishing on it.
Casey looks so at home in that Jag at the end
He made it look like a Miata….
I came to comment how he made this look like a clown car but was beat to it still the comparison of John to the statue in this car is hilarious
Certainly fills it out.
He’s too big/tall for that car lol. If he stood up the car would be stuck around his waist.
I love the way it looks out in the sun but under the right lighting, not so much. Totally agree! Jay Ergo is the man🤙
Still putting in the work, hope the shop sale is going well and nice to see the statue in house 👍
Wow, remembering what it looked like and how beautiful of a daily this has become... Amazing transformation! It should be called a Yayguar.
One of the most beautiful cars on the road. Sounds awesome too. Shock and Awe

Didn’t clay bar the contaminants away either. Larry from ammo nyc guy would cringe. I’m glad that’s not my car. I’d want my money back.

The Statue is a good man for helping you. Wish I had friends like that
Would love to see you go on a road trip in that. Enjoy your hard work. Also nice to see the detailer got a drive too, he did an awesome job.
Amazing transformation all around on the Jag, engine, and paint. Great work guys !

This car is amazing. No matter what people say about it, is gorgeous. Fantastic work saving it!
She looks great - be proud, that’s a great job pulling it back from the brink

this was def one of my favorite series you've done. Tied with the S4 and geo tracker
Casey did an amazing job at detailing that Jag. 👏 Matt
This is kind of project I watch your vlog for - eespecially the clean-up and cosmetic detailing.

Thank you for this series
My 2017 lie coolant
Yesterday
Trailered to dealer - assumed it was the coolant pipes
Dealer did a pressure test -
Sent pictures of the issue and pleased with that
New coolant pipes, recommend manifold, thermostat (both preventative)
What was odd the oil had not been changed in 20k miles - which was still good very pleased
So thanks for the series - awesome videos hope you enjoyed the f type :)
That car came out amazing! I love how the paint transformed. A good detailing goes a long way!
Brilliant, the video I've been waiting for and the culmination of all the effort you put in. It now looks like one well cared for car and I hope it gives you much joy cos it is truly deserved.
Love the look of Casey rollin' the Jag!! Awesome!
Just picked up some AvalonKing Armor Shield Lite. Love the Aztek reference on the bottle! Can't wait to try it.
The Jaguar came out great - The wheels really look good on that car - I thought they were a dark bronze not a gold bronze - WOW!!!
Love the Statue's head sticking up higher than the windshield.
That Jag has quite the comeback story to tell. Not the worlds biggest Jag fan but I would like to be seen in this one for sure.
It looks fabulous, genuinely. That’s why people like Jags. I hope you feel it was worth all the effort.
The driving shots at the end with the music are really nice!
GM, you really stuck with this one and it paid off...great work JR
What a transformation! Gorgeous car.
Love this gen F Type. The new ones have such a weird front end. Maybe it will grow on me over time. But this one looks so much better.
Thanks for including Casey , he is sad to know you're moving .
Seeing you zoom by on the scooter filming in the car's reflection was epic!
Dang that came out so shiny you could see a vampire's reflection in it.
Those wheels are sick! Great job on this car!
"Make mini trucks rad again" best shirt you got brother!! Jag looks pretty damn good too!! Nice work gentlemen
Love the B-roll at the end. Fantastic transformation!
I've been looking forward to the detail! It's like one of those starving horses they save, majestic once again. Very very well done!
Love these videos nicely done JR from crappy to happy. A full transformation 👍

That model is one of the best looking black convertibles ever.
Never tried Avalon King, but have sued Adams graphene ceramic polish. These ceramic polishes rock! But you really do need to apply indoors out of the sun. Sun cures it too quickly and then it's a bear to polish off.
JR your Jaguar is so amazing!! You must keep her as your pride and joy 🤩
The Statue looks like pump daddy there cruising at the end! 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍 Jag looks awesome.
would love to see the headlights done
Wow, Jag is shaping up to a sweet ride
Cheers mate for the great content as always.
They Lloyd Christmas scooter camera shots at the end are great!
Black is always a hard finish to make look good but your guys did pretty good.
I would actually go with a 961/2 percent improvement. Great job guys.
A lot of hard work to complete this transition with excellent results. You are fortunate to be able to have the tools and ability to complete the task yourself. Paying the labor costs would make a project of this magnitude cost prohibitive.
Nice green tip 223 in the center console !!
Absolutely beautiful car, and one of my absolute favorites.
That Jaguar deserved all the love put into it.
The reflection of you on a scooter made me lol. Great job!
Great job. Are you planning on fixing the retractable spoiler or is it not broken? It looks odd set to permanently up especially when parked.
it has a setting to stay up for cleaning ( or posing )
There's a button inside the car. If you push the button it stays up even when parked. Otherwise it's automatic and will raise at 63 MPH, and lowers at 45 MPH.
@@RickFowler It would be nice if JR could demonstrate this working.
WOW! What a transformation! Kudos to the Statue!

Great job guys! Casey really working his magic and used a lot of wax on wax off effort.
Definitely looks great outside!
Love it and Jaguar's are so under rated, so beautiful
9:34 l love how a green tip just sitting in there😂
That’s a pretty car! Nothing looks better then a clean black car. Trouble is keeping them clean. :)
AWESOME transformation!! I could see you riding your little mini-bike filming it in the reflection in the door!!! hahaha
From dud to stud transformation. Great job bringing this Jag some respect.
Loved the rolling shots.
That looks so much better! I now really want an F Type Jag!!! 🔥
Such a beautiful car
It’s running 100 % - it looks great.
It’s the ideal moment to get rid of a Jag - everything is downhill from here…
Do you think the used car market bubble burst? I’ve been seeing some signs
Love your content, I was wondering if you could do a video of detailing the engine bay
Enjoyed the Jag series. Its suits the Statue!!
Well done car looks awesome!!!!
Absolutely stunning! Excellent work.
Absolutely fantastic, my favourite cars jaguar, used to have xj6 years ago but would love a ftype
Love the camera rig
Loehe scooter drive-by shots! Very high-end looking 😍
Casey brought that paint back!!!! 🤘🏽🔥😲🖤
Great job! Now it is ready to be sold!!
I swear Casey looks like a perfect fit in that jag,I'd of never thought
Black is such a pain to live with, but boy oh boy does it clean up nice!
The Jag is looking so much better!
She cleaned up real nice 😻
Parting with this jaag is gonna be tough. Keep going Mr Ross
I’m impressed, looks really nice 👍
Medal for Casey and a neat feast pizza 🍕
What a transformation
A beautiful car, whoever left it outside like that should be ashamed of themselves.
Beautiful ride even when it looked rough
I almost want to send you an email and buy the jag from you. The first video I hated it but that stance is really getting my attention. Amazing job!!!
Statue did a great job weldone
This should be your Dad’s car! Was really cool watching him drive it!
knowing Jrgo he's definitely painting the whole car
Incredible transformation
Laughed at him riding his scooter in the reflection of the car.
