I live in Adelaide South Australia, and guess who played with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra... Joh Lord, with a covers band called The Zep Boys March last year(08).was just the most mind blowing experience,Never heard an orchestra with a band together, was the best concert I have ever been to... vik...
Last week was the 40th anniversary of my favorite album of all time "Deep Purple:Concerto For Group And Orchestra" the Greatest thing since Bach Mozart and Beethoven, by the greatest most gifted group on earth ,Deep Purple.
The orchestral stuff isn't bad at all (I have the DVD and yes the third movement is great) but to say it was original is quite of the mark. Frank Zappa had been doing it already for ages. Then again he was a true musical genius. No disrespect to Purple but they would probably agree that he was well ahead of them.
Ciao
"and I said if this fails, this record, then I'll play with orchestras for the rest of my life". That's bullshit, every single shit Ritchie did with music worked, and worked insanely well (Deep Purple, Rainbow, Blackmore's Night)
Very true, "Perpendicular" and "Abandon" great peices of work. Never forget, however, that Blackmore is the founder of this band, without whom, it all never would have been. As acomplished as Morse is, he's not a HIT writer.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video :)
That crazy improvisation that i loved fall over when Ritchie's gone... Shame, but i love Steve's sound, so clear and so classy.

omg roger playing finger style
sólo escuchar y aprender.
I'm a bit upset DP are almost forgotten in the States. They were always a global band and much bigger in Europe, Latin America and Japan OZ etc.
greg0058 I have the DVD that a friend has given me! Ciao

no one remembers The Nice 5 bridges??

Too long solo from R.B. it spoils the work from Lord.
