Ranger, heal thy self! Well, you'd have to if there aren't doctors anymore. A world with Healing Word would be one of superstition and faith. With the help of Quinn and Alex from A Couple of Characters, we find out that thieves would make the best surgeons and there can be a such a thing as endless hamburgers. Yuck!

About the not washing hands thing. I assume the farmer/butcher cast Purify Food and Drink (as a 1st level ritual) on everything as soon as its killed or harvested.
Also prise cows could be cloned .1k gold for top quality cow.

Wait, Quinn spent all this time talking about healing but ISN'T a doctor?! I am shocked. Shocked, I say!
She does play one on podcasts.
I think the Wizards would be the ones to come up with germ theory and a scientific view of medicine for two reasons. First, because they would be constantly annoyed that there was this one area where they weren’t the best. Second, because prestidigitation’s ability to clean would mean that wizards who regularly used it to stay neat would likely get sick less (assuming prestidigitation removes germs as well as visible dirt)
Also, they are the ones doing most of the necromancy and building like flesh golems and such, so they are actually going to encounter and have a need to understand the various body parts and what they do!
