Reminds me of the Lord of the Flys. Backman books were the only hard books I saved and they were lost in a house fire. You are very deep Mr King, I'm sure most people know that. God Bless
0:08 only eight minutes and I feel very, very scared. The dead silence, the grainy voice of the narrator And the artwork. Create the perfect salad of horror.
Read this story, and the books when it was new... back then such a thing was mostly uncommon. The kids in my school had rifles and shotguns on racks in their trucks cause after school we would go hunting or shooting skeet.bought my first 22 when I turned 11 in 72.. bought it, and walked home carrying it couple miles in Tonawanda NY.... despite all the stresses of the teenage angst, no one did such a thing.... how things have changed...
Oh wow I read this book loooong before these things became our common reality. King (Bachman) probably meant for this horror story to be fiction but these days it’s a horrible reality.
Im a king fan boy who has read every single thing he’s done that is readily accessible. Im now onto stuff like this and other obscure things he’s done. This one ? So far is the worst I’ve heard from him in a long long time. I see why he doesn’t care to put it out again. Regardless of the subject matter it just doesn’t make sense , isn’t that interesting, and overall just feels like something never meant for public consumption.
No. It went through a period when it was blamed for causing or inspiring school violence. But opinion has since settled down. Much like with Marilyn Manson. Truly scary sht comes directly from the human heart. A book or song doesn't cause a perfectly normal person to suddenly snap. It's years of hatred and anger that do that part. That's why, in this fan's opinion, the best of King's stories are not the ones with some mysterious other-wordly monster. They're the ones where the thing you really need to fear is the average looking human standing next to you. 😱✌️💙
You know a culture is in decline when its literature sinks to a level that appeals to a mainstream audience with the equivalent of an eighth-grade education.

This is such a crazy good book. I can see why it caused so much drama.
Because of the columbine school shooting
One of them quoted the book while killing
Wow that was great

You think it may have inspired Brenda Ann Spencer? The Grover Cleveland shooting in 1979?
That's why he decided to stop reprinting it.
Thanks for uploading! I've been curious about this one for a while. Only 1 hour in but enjoying it so far.
The story is gripping. The audio quality is a little distracting.
One of the best!
Rage has a bit of a Salinger vibe. If Holden Caufield had a psychotic break, you’d have Charlie Decker.
Thank you for uploading this
Ah now I’m on a hit list. Perfect :)
Wow!
That was powerful!
Rage reinterpreted so that the protagonist is a 52 year old insurance salesman instead of a teen boy
I believe the title of that was "Falling Down"...
This is amazing!
good book
Good book.
To afraid to even save this and listen to it later incase it gets took down not taking no chances😂
kewl

isn’t this book banned? 🤔

Narc
No, they just stopped printing new copies. You can still find it second hand
yeah it was banned
No. It was never banned. It is out of print at the request of the author.

If you don’t enjoy, you don’t have to partake.
Any idea who is narrated this?
