  • Moments after the first loss of his career, Deontay Wilder said he wishes his corner hadn't thrown in the towel and had allowed him to finish his title fight vs. Tyson Fury whether that meant getting knocked out or not. Wilder said the "better man won".

    The corner was absolutely right to stop the fight....any more extension would have caused life long damage

      People probably did not see all of the blood coming out of his ear. He was exhausted. His body was hurt and he was getting his wig split. This is not a movie. He does not have to prove to me how tough he is. He also was way behind on the scorecard halfway through the fight. No way he would have gotten a decision, or a score a knockout. His health and well being is more important. In any sport, even the greats fall at some point. All of them.
      He needs to consult with a guy like Lennox Lewis, who was able to redeem himself and finish his career on a good note.

      In one interview AJ said that he doesn’t care about money at all, only legacy. Yet few interviews later he said that he wouldn’t take 50/50 split with wilder. My man is scared.

      Patrick Flanagan He arguably won the second round. Things didn’t get bad until the third. Wilder put too much weight on and wasn’t able to move his head or body well.
